Less than an hour to go and the game plan is finished. I'm turning up the running game for a few reasons:
* Cover 2 is hard to consistently pass downfield against * My offense has very little familiarity with Houston's main defensive plays * I have 2 pretty good RB's that can also be effective receiving * Trying to chew clock and keep the Gamblers offense on the sidelines * Houston's DL is banged up plus their best LB is ruled out, while all their DB's are healthy I still didn't change much except my offensive run/pass ratios. |

Lost 37-20, 3rd downs killed me both sides of the ball. We jumped out 14-0, and led 20-17 late in the 3rd but it was all downhill from there. My running game was good early, and I set myself up with several 3rd and shortish situations, only to fail converting them time after time. Got very little help from the passing game, aside from dump offs.
Defensively I gave up too many big plays. Immediately after I went up 20-17 late in the 3rd, we allow a 75 yard TD pass and essentially lost the game then. We got them in 3rd and long several times only to give up first downs about half of those. Frustrating. |

sighs, well that stinks. Sorry you lost. I definitely won't be commenting on that Championship/all Revel in the Adoring Love of Setherick Appreciation Thread.
When I played him early in the season I want to say he was basically running 2 defensive plays, which I'm sure you saw them heavily utilized when scouting. I got mad and carefully game planned to run in the opposite direction of one of his plays; how it was aligned. I had success to a point and then I think he pulled away at the end. Offensively, same thing. His set-up is to his coding *heh* and takes tons of looking into/combat it strategies.

I saw his name pop up after a tackle so I clicked on his name in the box score to be sure I wasn't mistaken. I wasn't, his neck was at 5%. F-I-V-E. https://usflwfl.myfootballnow.com/player/3545

That was risky because those neck injuries can really damage a player. Hmm, trying to read through it. He took the chance and played him figuring that a 'neck' injury wouldn't slow down the player like a leg/foot injury.

Update: I didn't investigate but saw a glancing reference that the #1 shady move in the book happened. Picking up the #1 overall pick in a draft from an out-going GM.
I doubt fair value occurred. |

Whoa.
Moved from 14 to 1 and gave up nothing. Yeah, I've never done a trade in my life that ever looked to game the system. There's an infinite amount of talent difference between the 1st pick and the 14th. |

Just got the most miraculous screw job ever in MFN. League-31.
Held the AI Carolina team scoreless deep into the game, while incurring injuries throughout. After the game I looked at our DC and the top 3 options at RB and WR were battered. Any ways, it hit a point where the CPU kept pulling up the Double Nickel LB Blitz to give Carolina a chance to come back. Hit OT. We drive 'em back right to the goal-line on what appears to be a safety but don't get it and then we later proceed to miss a FG. From there, we lose. That WAS a fun league. lol |
