Those of you that can't watch Thursday Night Football on Amazon Prime should feel blessed, that was one of the worst normal weather football games I have ever seen, not counting replacement players. This actually kind of reminded me of that actually, the football was that bad.

For you whippersnappers, in the early 80's the NFL players went on strike so the owners got replacement players. 1982 I think. For the most part it was horrible football like tonught.

Wow, OK it was 1987 when the replacement players were used. 1982 was the strike shortened season.

Just wait, next week is Washington vs Chicago. It could be even worse.

I replaced Russ as a starter

QBs are about to follow the RB route, unless you're a true standout you won't get paid.

It feels like it is flowing that same trend. RBs used to land monster deals until the money out paced the performance. Now you cycle in new RBs at every chance, they hardly get drafted in rd1 and they are unlikely to resign with the team that drafted them.

I look at Kyler Murray as being a prime example, but also the over valuing of older QBs - M Ryan, R Wilson, M Stafford. There will always be above the fray types that warrant the money, but I think the bar is raising for that carrot.

I anticipate more Lamar Jackson types coming up, but doing 4 or 5 years before teams contemplate deeply on getting real competition for the position. Gone will be the days of a backup who is best wearing a headset.

Yeah I worry about that future scenario with Jalen Hurts as an Eagles fan. We have a great roster right now, but it's gonna be for naught if (and that seems hardly an if at this point) he gets a huge extension and we struggle to keep some of the glue guys (perhaps not keeping one of Devonta or Quez which would ****). WRs seem to be following that route too seeing how this offseason went with the Davante/Deebo/Tyreek/AJB sagas.

The Bengals face that with Burrow's new deal coming up soon, then Jamarr Chase the next year.

That will be bad as well, then a week from Monday the Broncos are on MNF against the LA Chokers, I mean Chargers.

Same here as a Bills fan. Allen’s contract kicks in next season. This is our year or bust.

It gets tough. My philosophy, big money short term. Either that player will earn every bit and another contract or some type of extension, or not - in which case he will become and burden to another teams cap.

These players are seeking AAV which is essentially fake until all is said and done with the various ways to rework contracts.
