BREAKDOWN: Offensively, all 11 starters return from last year's 15th ranked offense while only losing a depth RB and a depth WR. They signed a starting RT in Gregory Johnson from Tampa Bay in free agency plus they signed depth at TE and Center. In the draft, they selected a WR in the 1st round and a TE in the 2nd round to improve the offense.
Defensively, all 11 starters from last year's 19th ranked defense return as they only lost a deep RDE. They were fairly active in free agency signing a starter at DT, a starter at WLB and a starter at FS along with a depth DE. They also drafted a DE in the 3rd round and a SS inbthe 4th round.
PREDICTION: 11-5 Raidergreg is essentially a founder in the XFL as he enters his 31st season as owner of the Gem City Gangsters. He has owned the NXC North the last 13 seasons, winning 11 division titles in that span and the team has made the postseason in 13 of the last 14 seasons. This is one of the most stable organizations in the XFL and all 22 starters plus both kickers return from last season with several key additions on both sides of the ball. Their schedule is favorable as they only play 6 teams that had winning records last season including 5 playoff team.

BREAKDOWN: Offensively, they lost a backup QB, a depth TE, 2 WRs and 5 OLs from last year's 28th ranked offense including their starting LT and primary backups at WR and Center. They signed a backup RB, a starting WR and 3 OL in free agency including 1 starting OL. They drafted 2 QBs in the 2nd & 6th rounds but the 6th rounder has already been released. They also drafted a RB in the 4th, a FB in the 2nd, a WR in the 5th and an OL in the 3rd round but the FB & WR were already released.
Defensively, they lost 1 DL and 5 DBs from last year's 31st ranked defense including 2 starting DBs. They added 2 DL, 7 LBers and 6 DBs in free agency including a starting LB & starting CB. They were active in free agency but 8 of the 15 defensive players signed didn't play a snap last season since they spent all their draft picks this season on the offense.
PREDICTION: 1-15 Zehlendorf has missed the postseason the last 14 seasons and late in the off-season, a new owner took control of the francise. Much like last minute Christmas shopping, Zehlendorf was forced to sign 10 players who didn't play a snap last season just to have enough bodies in camp and after going 1-15 last year, the new owner will need a full off-season to have any chance to improve the team.
MONTANA GRIZZLIES OWNER: Trslick (32nd season) LAST SEASON: 6-10 (2nd place) RUN OFFENSE: 24th PASS OFFENSE: 19th TOTAL OFFENSE: 23rd RUN DEFENSE: 22nd PASS DEFENSE: 21st TOTAL DEFENSE: 22nd TURNOVER MARGIN: +6

BREAKDOWN: Offensively, they return 10 of 11 starters from last year's 23rd ranked offense after losing their starting RT to retirement plus they lost depth at RB, TE & WR. They traded for RB John Sheller who would have easily led the Grizzlies with his 942 yards rushing last season. They signed a TE & RT in free agency to replace some of their loses plus they drafted a WR in the 1st round with elite speed who combined with Sheller gives them 2 legitimate playmakers to improve their offense.
Defensively, they lost a starter at DE and a starter at MLB from last year's 22nd ranked defense. They also lost primary backups at LB and 2 DBs. They signed depth at DL & LB to mitigate a few of the loses plus they drafted 4 LBers in the 2nd, 4th, 6th & 7th rounds plus a DB in the 3rd round.
PREDICTION: 10-6 Trslick is another foundation owner who is entering his 32nd season as owner of the Montana Grizzlies. He is one of the most respected owners in the XFL known for his incredible sportsmanship leading to the leagues good game thread to be forever renamed the Trslick thread. After missing the postseason his first 15 seasons as owner, he made the postseason in 6 of the last 16 seasons including 2 division Titles. The addition of a 1st round WR with elite speed plus the trade for a playmaking RB this off-season coupled with a favorable schedule, the Grizzlies look poised to come out of hibernation and not only make the postseason but challenge for the NXC North Division crown.
SAINT PAUL PUNISHERS OWNER: Phaldun (1st season) LAST SEASON: 4-12 (3rd place) RUN OFFENSE: 30th PASS OFFENSE: 13th TOTAL OFFENSE: 22nd RUN DEFENSE: 24th PASS DEFENSE: 32nd TOTAL DEFENSE: 28th TURNOVER MARGIN: -2

BREAKDOWN: Offensively, they lost their leading rusher and 3rd leading receiver from last year's 22nd ranked offense when WR Terry Cowart was allowed to walk in free agency. They also lost a backup RB plus depth at FB & TE. They signed a backup QB, backup RB, 2 depth FBs, 1 depth TE, 2 WRs including 1 starter and 4 OL including a starting LT. They drafted a RB in the 2nd round plus 2 Centers in the 1st & 4th rounds but both Centers have already been released and have signed with other teams.
Defensively, they lost 5 DL including all 4 starters from their defensive line from last year's 28th ranked defense. They also lost 4 LBers including 1 starter in WLB James Smith who led the team in tackles. Finally, they lost 4 DBs including 3 starters in CB Christopher Brooks, SS Alvaro Goddard and 2× reigning ALLPRO FS Joseph Coleman. They signed 2 DL, 3 LBers and 5 DBs in free agency to replace all their loses but 6 of the 10 players didn't play a snap last season. They drafted a DE in the 6th round, a SLB in the 3rd round and a SS in the 7th round who has already been released.
PREDICTION: 3-13 Phaldun took ownership of the Punishers during the draft and took over a francise that was -41 million over the salary cap. He was forced to essentially cut most of his starting defense just to free up enough cap space to be able to field a team. From 2035-2037, Saint Paul won 3 consecutive NXC Conference Championships after they played in the controversial 2034 NXC Championship game where Zehlendorf owned by Grandadb was found out to have cheated and ultimately was booted from the league, receiving a lifetime ban from the XFL. Saint Paul has now gone 12 straight seasons without a postseason appearance and they haven't won more than 5 games in that stretch. Phaldun will probably have to endure a 13th season missing the playoffs as he took over a francise in salary cap ****. The good news for Saint Paul is the new owner is engaged, active and motivated to get them back to those glory days.
I think we'll underachieve big time this season. No giving up though !

BREAKDOWN: Offensively, they lost 2 backup QBs, 2 RBs including their 3rd leading rusher, 3 WRs including their 3rd leading receiver and 5 OL including 3 starters from last season's 19th ranked offense. WR Ball & WR May were both traded for future 1st round draft picks. They signed a backup QB, 2 RBs, 1 WR and 4 OL in free agency to replace some of their loses. They also drafted 2 WRs in the 1st & 7th rounds but the 7th rounder has already been released.
Defensively, they lost 3 DL, 2 LBers and 2 DBs from last year's 11th ranked defense including a starter at DE & SLB. They signed 1 DL, 1 LBer and 2 DBs in free agency including WLB Smith who should replace the lose of SLB Huber. They drafted a DE in the 2nd round and a FS in the 1st round.
PREDICTION: 8-8 Atlanta was owned by Bruno from 2038-2045 where he won 5 straight XFL Titles from 2041-2045 before the team was bought by Hammond who owned the team from 2046-2048 and he won 3 more XFL Titles to stretch the streak to an XFL record 8 straight XFL Titles. In 2049, the team was bought by Kababmaster who went to the postseason but failed to make it 9 in a row. That brings us to the current owner, Dangalanti who bought the team in 2050 and the team finished 7-9 missing the postseason. He enters his 2nd season as owner and many of the core players from those 8 XFL Titles have gotten old with quite a few retiring and he is charged with rebuilding the francise for the future. He traded 3 players in the off-season 2 future 1st rounders and Atlanta is clearly a team in transition but they still have enough talent to make a possible playoff run.

BREAKDOWN: Offensively, they lost their 2nd leading receiver and a starting Center from last year's 11th ranked offense. They also lost 2 backup QBs, depth at TE and a backup WR. They signed 3 OL in free agency as they look to replace the lose of their Center. They drafted a QB in the 4th round who seems like a nice developmental prospect. They also drafted 2 RBs in the 1st & 6th rounds but the 6th rounder has already been released plus they drafted a TE in the 5th round.
Defensively, they lost 3 DL, 1 LBer and 2 DBs from last year's 24th ranked defense but none of them were starters. They signed a starting LDE and a depth LBer in free agency. They also drafted 2 LBers in the 2nd & 3rd rounds plus a SS in the 3rd round.
PREDICTION: 11-5 Memphis has won at least 11 games and made the postseason the last 10 seasons. Despite all the success in the last decade, that had the misfortune of playing in the same division as the 8× XFL Champion Atlanta Dominators. They finally broke through in 2049 and won the NXC Conference Championship and last season they went 13-3 but fell short in the postseason under new owner Tim Reese jr. He enters his 2nd season as owner and the team is still loaded with playmakers so I expect them to continue this current run.

BREAKDOWN: Offensively, they lost their starting QB, 4th leading receiver and starting LT from last year's 26th ranked offense. They also lost 1 depth WR and 4 depth OL. They signed 2 QBs in free agency plus potential starters at WR & OL. They drafted a WR in the 7th round who has already been released.
Defensively, they lost a backup DE, a depth LB and 5 DBs from last year's 27th ranked defense. 3 possibly 4 of the DBs lost are considered starters. They acquired 3 depth DL, 1 starting LBer and 6 DBs in either free agency or trade and only 1 of the DBs is considered a starter. They drafted a DT in the 2nd round, a DE in the 4th round, a MLB in the 5th round and a DB in the 6th round plus they acquired another rookie DB drafted in the 4th round via a trade.
PREDICTION: 5-11 Dr. Hayhurst is entering his 10th season as owner of the Carolina Cobras and the first 9 seasons have been rough as the team went 33-110-1 (.229) in that time while they had to play 4 games a season versus two of the best teams in the XFL, Atlanta & Memphis. It's the end of his first decade in the league and an honest evaluation of the roster shows they have 3 veteran QBs with Stroud being clearly the best of the bunch. RB Lecompte is a solid RB1 while WR Underwood should play TE1. The receivers are OK with Heath a solid possession WR1, Jones is the best WR2 and RB Grable should switch to WR but continue as RB2 while also being WR3. The offensive line is thin but they should have RG Jones at LT, Walling at C, RG Tinsley at RT, LT Davis at RG and RG Peterson at LG. The defensive line lacks overall speed but the top 3 are Gibson, Moulton & Freeman with the rest all interchangeable. The LBer core also lacks overall speed with Dixon, Matter, Cruz and Houston the starters. The secondary, like the entire defense lacks speed but Neal is the best CB1, Costello at CB2 and Castaneda at FS with Powers, Teeters and Aguon filling out the secondary. They should score some on offense but the lack of speed on defense will hurt their chances to win more games.
TAMPA BAY FIREBALLS OWNER: Kababmaster (2nd season) LAST SEASON: 14-2 (Division Champ) RUN OFFENSE: 12th PASS OFFENSE: 4th TOTAL OFFENSE: 5th RUN DEFENSE: 4th PASS DEFENSE: 26th TOTAL DEFENSE: 17th TURNOVER MARGIN: 0
SUBTRACTIONS: FB Armando Sampson (FA) 41 rush/1 TD RT Gregory Johnson (GCG) 632 PB/508 RB CB Phillip Stthomas (FA) 71 tackles/23 KD/3 INT SS Blake Johnson (OAK) 23 tackles/1 sack/1 hurries/2 KD/1 INT
DRAFT PICKS: RB William Diaz (7th) released +6/+7 WR Donald Washington (2nd) +3/-5 RDE Winston Callahan (1st) +16/+4 MLB John Price (4th) +12/+5 CB Bradley Jones (2nd) +8/+7
BREAKDOWN: Offensively, they lost their starting RT and a FB from last year's 5th ranked offense. They didn't sign anyone in free agency but they drafted a WR in the 1st round to give them another playmaker and a RB in the 7th round who they already released.
Defensively, they lost a starting CB and a depth DB from last year's 17th ranked defense. They signed a DT & DE in free agency who were both starter last season. They also drafted a DE in the 1st, a CB in the 2nd and a LB in the 4th round.
PREDICTION: 11-5 Kababmaster took over a Tampa Bay team that went 31-33 the previous 4 seasons under the previous owner and the team came out of nowhere to go 14-2 and secure the #1 seed in the NXC. They return 20 of 22 starters from last seasons team and they added a playmaker on offense and possibly 4 starters on defense. The schedule features 8 playoff teams so even with the same or better roster, they could end up with a worse record based on a first place schedule.
