I've been busy and I'm trying to catch up on all the threads to add the latest season.
Better late then never.....Big props to Blondie for winning XFL XXXVII! It's his 2nd Title and has had a great 8 year run where he has owned the AXC!!!

I want to thank all 31 owners for returning for another season as I update the stats threads, release the HOF ballet, free agency arrives then of course the draft and my annual 1st round draft review.

I know. It’s crazy. I expected him to retire years ago.
Very happy with how the board fell until my pick, CB Alexander Porter was one of my best rated propects and he made it to the 9th pick in the Draft.
87 speed (I might get lucky and get a 1 point speed bump after he loses some weight) and 83 M2M coverage from day one makes him a very high floor prospect even with 82 VOL.
Also added an extra 2nd rd pick after trading LB Frank Watson. I got worse on the short term, but I think a rookie aligns better with my timeline, and I think it was a good return.

2055 1.1 HOUSTON
TE Cameron Corrigan 31/77 Vol 4 6' 3" 255 lbs Duke
The #1 overall pick, a francise changing pick where a generational talent can alter a francise for the next decade and Houston takes a TE with below average speed and average run blocking skills. Corrigan wasn't on anybody pre-draft bingo cards for the 1st round let alone the top pick in the draft. He is an elite pass catcher, route runner and can catch the contested ball but he struggles with press coverage and lacks the speed and quickness to get any separation which makes him a pure possession receiver.
After the crazy curveball which turned into a knuckleball of the first overall pick, Seattle lands the true #1 overall pick after making the NXC Conference Championship game last season. Vosburg has elite speed and will easily become the top playmaker on the outside for Seattle.
Carolina has won just 5 games the last 3 seasons combined but they have three 1st round picks including the 3rd & 4th overall pick in this draft. They used the 3rd overall pick on WR Dillion who is a top 10 talent and potential offensive playmaker for the Cobras. He has elite pass catching & ball carrying potential with just below elite level speed. They had the 29th ranked offense last season and Dillion will help improve that side of the ball.

2055 1.4 CAROLINA
SS John Clark 33/88 Vol 70 6' 0" 209 lbs Grambling
Carolina next selects a defensive playmaker in SS Clark to improve on last years 29th ranked defense. Clark has potentially elite cover skills with great but just below elite speed. He can easily play MLB, Safety or even Cornerback and could lead the Cobras defense. These back to back picks should improve Carolina on both sides of the ball.

2055 1.5 LOS ANGELES
MLB Patrick Crawford 42/88 Vol 86 6' 0" 252 lbs Towson University
Los Angeles is in the midst of a 12 year postseason drought and they used the 5th overall pick on a true elite MLB. He has elite speed for his size at the position with elite potential to stop the run, blitz the QB and defend the pass. He instantly upgrades last years 20th ranked defense.
Seattle has three of the first 12 picks in the 1st round and after taking the consensus #1 overall pick with the 2nd overall pick, they draft another offensive playmaker with the 6th overall pick. McClure and Vosburg give Seattle two elite level WRs to improve on last years 8th ranked pass offense. McClure could easily play TE since he has elite run blocking skills and great speed and elite quickness.
After making the postseason in 9 straight years from 2042-2050, Vancouver has been slowly doing a rebuild and has missed the postseason the last 4 years. They used the 7th overall pick to take an offensive playmaker with near elite speed. The WR/RB has elite pass catching and ball carrying abilities and should upgrade last seasons 26th ranked offense.

2055 1.8 WASHINGTON
QB Tim Williams 46/93 Vol 76 6' 1" 230 lbs Tennessee
The first QB comes off the board but it's not who the draft experts thought it would be going first. Most experts show Basham as the top QB prospect despite attending a smaller college but Williams was always considered more of a 1b instead of the 2nd best QB in the draft. Clearly, Washington liked Williams resume better than Basham's and selected him as the top QB in this draft. There is no arguing his accuracy, intelligence or discipline but he has a few red flags with his vision and ability to look off Defenders. Only time will tell which QB has a better career and either one feels like a francise making QB.
Miami is stuck in the middle of a 20 season postseason draught and they finished 5-11 last season which matches their best record in the last 11 years. They had the 30th ranked offense last season but they added a DB to their 9th ranked pass defense as they look to become elite in an least 1 aspect of the game. Porter has great speed and elite level intelligence and should help Miami's young defense.
Texas fell to 5-11 last season after shocking the world in 2052 by making an improbable playoff run! They drafted a sparkplug FB who may help them run the ball after finishing ranked 30th in rushing offense last season. FB Holley isn't your prototype RB and is better known as an elite pass catcher out of the backfield. He has great speed and has a chance to get faster if he trims some weight.
