A thread in the general forums was created to address the recent increase in injuries across the leagues.

JDB responded to the thread but in a very vague and really unhelpful way.

The heck with this.

My RB stood out so he took the serious injury hit. 2nd serious injury so I denoted to myself I can't rely on him any more. Was leading the league by 300 or so yards. *Parity Procedure

Edit: Dropping the other thing until I'm more certain.

Yes, I saw that. I think there's trigger mechanisms in place for individual player performance to try and corral results to play more equal. My RB was protected and didn't have near the high end of carries but went down to injury. I believe that there's trip wires in place which result in injuries. In this case, his performance stood out too much from the pack so the sim engine located it and handled it.
