For the first time in league history, an XFL Title game will happen without Dakota, Oakland or Atlanta in the game. Through the first seven years of the leagues history at least one of those three teams, if not two have been in the title game. Much to my delight and many in the XFL community, we have two brand new participants and it's a good thing.
Milwaukee took a 14-13 lead into halftime and held off Oakland on the road while Arizona took a 10-9 lead into halftime before salting away a victory with 2 4th quarter touchdowns.
XFL VIII PREVIEW
Arizona vs Milwaukee -3
Arizona has been under ownership by Wieczoreks for 6 seasons. His first season in 2020 was his only losing season as the team saw steady improvement every season going 9-7 in 2021 and just missing the playoffs. In 2022, they went 10-4-2 and made the 1st of 4 straight playoff appearances with records of 12-4 in 2023 (Division Title) and 11-5 in 2024 (Division Title). In 2025, Arizona improved to 14-2 which earned them the Number one seed and in their 2nd straight Conference championship game advanced to reach their 1st Title game.
Milwaukee has been under ownership by Mardn72 for 4 seasons. His first season in 2022 saw the team finish 5-11. They followed that up with a 7-9 record in 2023 before finally finishing with a winning record and a Wildcard spot in 2024 with a record of 12-4. In 2025, the team improved to 14-2 with both loses to defending Champion Dakota which earned them another Wildcard spot. Milwaukee won 3 straight road playoff games including knocking off Dakota to reach XFL VIII.
Well earned and well deserved for both owners who have continued to improve their teams every season. The hard work and attention to detail has paid dividends and both of you have had a fantastic season but only one of you can be crowned Champion.
The XFL is happy to crown the Arizona Wranglers XFL VIII Champs!
A fantastic season everyone with 2 brand new teams in the title game as some of the old guard was quickly eliminated. Does this signal a changing of the guard? Will perennial contenders like Buffalo, Dakota, Atlanta and Oakland bounce back next season? Or has age and late round draft picks slowed them down enough for even more new teams breaking through?
All these and many more questions will be answered next season. I hope everyone returns for season 9 of the XFL. I will be updating every teams logo with the new designs created by Jaulschge. I'm in the process of updating the XFL stats page for single game, single season, career and playoff stat leaders for a wide variety of statistics. I put an asterisk by any player that has been added following this season to the leader boards.
