In what became an instant classic, the Championship game was won in overtime for just the second time in league history.

A low scoring defensive battle where both teams had a chance to win it in regulation. With the score tied 10-10 in the 4th quarter, Oakland QB Albert Bullock hit WR Michael Almonte for 72 yards down to the 1 yard line where Gem City's CB Whitey Bulger made a game saving tackle.

1st and goal from the one and Oakland ran the ball for -2 yards then this happened.

Gem City got the turnover and just as important a nice 28 yard return to get decent field position. Gem City goes on a 9 play 37 yard drive which sets up K Gustavo Fring for this field goal attempt which could win the game with 1:51 remaining. Fring is one of the top young kickers in the league and coming into the game was 6/7 on +50 yard field goals in the playoffs alltime.

After the miss, neither team got much going and the game went to overtime. After both teams had the ball going 3 and out, Gem City managed a 8 play 48 yard drive with the key play being Edward Papa's big run.

This is Gem City's 2nd XFL Championship as they join Oakland and Atlanta with 2 titles each. Only Dakota with 3 has more.

Great Game CrazyRazor, both defenses were awesome. I wasn't too confident coming into the game after you beat both CJ and Smirt while I won the punt blocking contest. It may be a cliche but it is a shame someone had to lose this game, we both had our chances and blew them.

Congrats on a great season, your division is loaded yet you came through 12-4 and your playoff run was quite impressive. Best of luck in the offseason.
