Good game Cinci....our victory came at a cost....QB is OUT for 8 games....argh.
This is something I feared would happen with all the constant complaining about injuries in so many forums. JDB had previously protected QBs from serious injury but now it's a thing. I lost my QB in another league to a questionable 6 week injury.
The area where I've noticed a definite climate change is on the defensive line; probably both lines but, yeah, definitely the sim has its fangs out and attacks those two areas when they are weakened.
I pulled up the offending offensive play a bit ago re: this league's QB injury. It wasn't a bad offensive play....it just caught a sack.
Hmm, yeah, there has to be a change to contact on a QB = avoid sacks with everything in your heart.

I think the injury situation has been beat to death. JDB got tons of grieve for it from all around and finally offered up a sliding scale for custom leagues. His stance has always been injuries arent broken and given QBs are protected should be the offset to balance it out.
It's a roster management sim and injuries have to exist to make building a deep balanced roster important. He gave in and still the forums are full of injury complaints...so yeah he probably said F' em.....let them deal with QB injuries too.
It is what it is.....personally I've stopped gameplanning for the most part. I'm only here because I admin 5 leagues and me quitting isnt fair to many owners.
This is the era of punt blocking and until that's fixed, I wont be winning much of anything. To me, injuries happen and it doesnt bother me but the punt blocking takes this sim in a whole different direction that is counter to anything like real football. Sure there are a half dozen or so punt blocks in the NFL every season but 4 to 5 per game is stupid and I wont be participating much until he closes that issue.
I dont care about losing, but it takes any fun I have completely out of the game. Now I do my power rankings, post some stuff in the forums and hit auto everything when I gameplan.
@cjfred - appreciate you "keeping the lights on in your leagues" despite you not enjoying things anymore.
2 weeks in Hawaii may have had something to do with my non interest in gameplanning along with everyone putting their fastest player on the line to block punts.
I played a game against Michael77 in another league and without punt blocks....I had less then a 50/50 chance of winning anyway but he blocked my first 4 punts of the game and I lost like 51-10.
In the NFL, if you get a punt blocked, I'm sure some adjustments would be made and at the very least if the first 2 punts get blocked....you may consider just going for it on 4th down.
Definately after the first 3 punt blocks...I think something drastic would happen....like maybe 3 300 pound offensive lineman would hurt the 180 pound defensive back maliciously.
After the fourth straight punt block....just give the guy a bust in the hall of fame because he is unstoppable.
I'm glad quarterbacks are subject to injury, hopefully punters and kickers get the injury bug too so this game becomes more realistic in some way

It's easy to get burned out on this game, it's happened to me a few times. Currently going through it now and my work has a lot to do with it. Work has been crazy, especially after midnight and I often find myself staying up too late in the morning. Even when I can sleep as long as I want, I'm often awake in 3-4 hours and spend my off day in a zombie like state due to lack of sleep.
Even when sleep is good, this game can be a grind. I was actually relieved when I got beat in the USFL playoffs as it gave me a bit of a break. I run that league, and all those years of making the finals, losing, then right back to a new season was exhausting.
I'll get back into the grind soon enough, probably in a week or two when there is no March Madness or MLB fantasy baseball to distract me.

Well a big part of my disinterest is my 2 week family vacation. I didnt want to do anything MFN related but still had to do 5 power rankings every other day.
My wife and I made a promise to only use our phones 1 hour per day so I only did league stuff and had to fast track gameplanning into load gameplan and hit auto. The punt blocking does irritate me though.
Seems like a simple fix for JDB but he focused on opening up injuries to QB which should shake things up somewhat.
I'm sure I will get back into soon.
PS....no worries with March Madness or baseball for awhile

Power rankings are cool and all but if you only have minimal time cut back on that, spend time with family or gameplanning. Screw us, screw the power rankings, we'll survive! Would rather have you here and no power rankings than you not here because you burnt out and no league.

I enjoy running the leagues....I will get back into gameplanning eventually.....I've had my share of success in this game and dont mind others winning. Like Greg, its nice missing the playoffs and getting time off plus better draft picks as well.
