Yeah I get that but Setherick kept saying he wasn't using anyone on the front four...just his wings....when the DBs were definitely on the front four (ST RUSHER #1-#4).

So after that arguement....saying I'm only gonna use my wings to pressure gets me nervous...wings should be on the line setup outside each defe side end on the front four but thats not how its set up.

The "wings" are part of the protection scheme, not part of the punt blocking. In my experience, I lose on the punt blocking if my number's up, and the blocking doesn't help me any. The punt blocker really "wins" when he gets you to tie yourself in knots, trying to stop him.

If Smirt has found something that works, more power to him. In the Arena League debacle, the punt blocker came through the middle, and the wings didn't help at all. I won't be breaking any rules to generate punt blocks. I don't know what Smirt will do, because I'm not the boss of him, but I would be surprised if he broke rules to beat me. That's not his style.

RE: Arena.

Opponent = Michael and it was cleared all season long vs. him ...I asked him again and again - he wanted punt blocks and he was bringing it 100%. On my 3 or so punts he was in on my good. I just put my head down, got into the punt return screen and dug in to try and figure out how to win the punt block vs. punt block war.

Michael and I are cool.

Probably you can if you do what you say. The max protection scheme makes it possible for me to be terrorized by "legitimate" punt rushers. But I'd rather be wrong this way than the other way.

I'm cool with either of you winning....Smirts been chasing this one forever so part of me is pulling for him then again STS has a real Cinderella thing going and Smirts won 1000 titles so I hope it goes triple overtime and is decided by an interception return that gets fumbled and returned the other way!
