I'm not complaining about not making it, but I have been trying to figure out MFN tiebreakers for years. I just want to know/understand the order of tiebreakers that MFN uses. JDB has said it's the same as NFL, but it's clearly not.

In our league, we had 3 teams tie for the 2 wildcard spots with 10-6 records. Two of those teams are in the same division, so we have to break that tie first. Gem City and the Zecken split and had 3-3 division records, and the NFL lists the next tiebreaker as common games. Zecken wins that 9-5 to 8-6, so Zecken is #5 seed.

That leaves Brooklyn and Gem City tied for the last spot. We did not play in the regular season and the next NFL tiebreaker listed is conference record. Gem City was 9-3 while Brooklyn was 7-5, so why am I not playing?

At one point JDB said net points mattered, but it seems point differential is above even conference records for wildcard ties. Brooklyn had a point differential of +173 while Gem City was +93.

Can anyone tell me with certainty what the MFN tiebreakers are? Due to the standings glitch, I often run down playoff scenarios, who needs to beat who, etc. It's harder than it needs to be due to the lack of tiebreaker clarity.

The only thing I can imagine happened is the 3 team tiebreaker was calculated which eliminated you and gave Zecken #5 and instead of calculating the tiebreaker again between Gem City and Brooklyn which is right....handed Brooklyn #6.

I'm gonna PM JDB and show him his playoff tiebreaker algorithm is broken.

"You are right, the current general release version has a bug where the tiebreaker does not restart after a 3-way winner has been set. The beta version has the fix but because that version has not reached stability as soon as I had hoped it has not made it to the general release. I've toyed with trying to patch it into the current version but honestly am afraid something might break if I do..."

Thanks for getting an answer from JDB. I'm pretty sure I made the playoffs once in World League when I shouldn't have, so I guess it all evens out in the end.

It all comes back to the new mythical version that fixes everything...LOL
