Just curious if anyone has noticed a sharp uptick in sacks allowed in 2038, the *second* season of 4.6. I had major problems with it this year compared to last season.
2037 - first year of 4.6 QB Steven Stiner - https://xfl.myfootballnow.com/player/9136 sacked 8 times 40 speed 69 acceleration 33 break tackle LT Roland Westbury - https://xfl.myfootballnow.com/player/8352 1 sack allowed 27 years old 89 strength 100 pass blocking RT Gregory Beard - https://xfl.myfootballnow.com/player/8069 1 sack allowed 28 years old 99 strength 96 pass blocking 2038 - second year of 4.6 QB Stiner - sacked 59 times LT Westbury - 23 sacks allowed RT Beard - 13 sacks allowed I know Stiner isn't the fastest or great at breaking tackles, but going from one sack every two games to 3.5 sacks every game is pretty ridiculous. I didn't add any long or medium passes to the gameplan this season, and actually took more of them out when the sacks became such a huge problem. Neither of the tackles are over the hill scrubs either, so I'm just scratching my head trying to figure out what changed. Thanks in advance for any thoughts. |

Perhaps your QB takes off running more often. When he does, if he gets tackled behind the line of scrimmage it's still a sack.

I've seen a few of those plays, but these are mostly 10 yard sacks, not 4 yard sacks. Just frustrating that I changed the game plan for increased pass rush last season and it worked pretty well, but this season it didn't. |

I have had major struggles as well, but most of mine have been the QB not getting rid of the ball. Maybe your receivers have had trouble getting "open." I have been having major problems getting speed, especially on offense, and it is starting to spill over.

Most of my top receivers have speed in the mid to high 80s, but B&R avoid in the mid 60s to low 70s. I was focusing on the big jump in sacks allowed by the o linemen, but you might be right that receivers not getting open is what's causing the problem. I'll have to keep an eye on that next season. |
