2044 QUARTER SEASON REPORT

AXC

The Conference has 12 of 16 teams within 1 game of leading their prospective divisions & 14 of 16 teams within 1 game of a playoff spot. Only Oakland & Daytona have opened the season winless and put themselves behind the proverbial eight ball.

WEST
The Division has 3 teams tied for 1st with Oakland sitting winless and 2 games behind. Overall/Division records are in parenthesis.

■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■
INDIANA FOG (2-2/2-0)
They have won both division games with wins over Vancouver & KC at home under their belts. They have 2 loses in Conference to non-division opponents. Their next 4 games are all against Conference opponents including 2 Division games. Home against Oakland (week 6) & on the road versus KC (week 8).
KEY PLAYMAKER
CB Jon Wright
He leads the league with 13 knockdowns and has allowed a 28% catch allowed percentage on 25 passes defended. If he can maintain this torrid pace, he could set the single season record of 47 knockdowns set in 2032 by Fred Smoot of the Gem City Gangsters.
PRESEASON PREDICTION
9-7 (3rd place)
Predictions about their pass defense taking a step back have been mitigated by CB Jon Wright's dominate start.
■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■
VANCOUVER VANDALS (2-2/2-1)
They have already played 3 division games going 2-1 in those games with a season sweep of Oakland plus a lose to Indiana on the road. They play 3 straight non-Conference games before traveling to KC in week 8.
KEY PLAYMAKER
QB John Bennett
He has 1,352 passing yards (3rd), 12 TD passes (2nd), 4 interceptions and a 97.68 QBR (4th). He is on pace to throw for over 5,000 yards & 48 TDs which would easily be his best season. His career best numbers in his 3 seasons as starter are 3,714 yards & 25 TD passes.
PRESEASON PREDICTION
11-5 (1st)
A slow start but overall they rank 8th in total offense & 3rd in overall defense. They play 6 of 12 remaining games against playoff caliber opponents so they will need to win the games they are suppose to win and split versus the playoff teams to meet their preseason prediction of 11 wins.
■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■
KANSAS CITY CHAOS (2-2/0-1)
They have split their 4 Conference games but lost their only division game versus Indiana on the road, 35-0. Their next 4 games are all Conference games including division games at home versus Indiana (Week 7) & Vancouver (Week 8).
KEY PLAYMAKER
CB Jason Ramos
The ALLPRO CB is tied for the league lead with 9 other players with 3 interceptions. He is on pace to challenge the single season record of 13 interceptions set by Michael English (2029) & Rick Henry (2036).
PRESEASON PREDICTION
9-7 (4th)
The gamble that QB Bart Rowland would improve the offense has had mixed results and their run defense which finished 29th last season currently ranks 30th.
■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■
OAKLAND OUTLAWS (0-4/0-2)
They have started winless including being swept by division rival Vancouver. 3 of their next 4 games are in Conference including a division game at Indiana (Week 6).
KEY PLAYMAKER

PRESEASON PREDICTION
10-6 (2nd)
They ranked 6th in total offense & 3rd in total defense last season and have fallen to 26th in total offense & 30th in total defense. They would need to win 10 of their last 12 games to meet their prediction and they only have 1 game remaining versus a team with a losing record currently.
■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■

EAST
The division currently has 2 teams tied for 1st & 2 teams 1 game back.Overall/Division records are in parenthesis.

■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■
BUFFALO SKULL CRUSHERS (2-2/2-0)
They lost their first 2 games before bouncing back with 2 wins versus division rivals. They traveled to New York before returning home versus New England to even their record. KEY PLAYMAKER
QB Ricardo Dodds
The 2× MVP & ALLPRO QB leads the league in passing yards (1,393) plus is tied for 5th with 10 TD passes but he also leads the league in interceptions (13) and has a 65.39 QBR which ranks 25th among every day starters. He is currently on pace to set career highs in yards & TD passes while also being on pace to challenge the Alltime Interceptions record of 56 set by Michael Carter (Day) in 2026.
PRESEASON PREDICTION
12-4 (1st)
They have already lost half their projected games and need to go 10-2 down the stretch to meet their mark. The schedule is favorable as they have just 1 game left versus a team currently with a winning record (Orlando/week 6).
■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■
MIAMI NEMESIS (2-2/1-1)
They have split their first 4 games including splitting 2 road division games versus New York & New England. They play 2 non-Conference games in their next 4 and 2 of their next 4 are on the road.
KEY PLAYMAKER
RB George Shively
He lead the team last season in total yards (1,928) & total TDs (6) but has fallen off the map this season posting just 273 total yards which unfortunately leads the team plus he hasn't recorded a single TD.
PRESEASON PREDICTION
9-7 (2nd)
They have gone from 20th & 16th in total offense & defense last season to 29th & 16th in total offense & defense this season. The schedule features 6 of the next 12 games versus teams currently with a losing record.
■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■
NEW YORK EMPIRE (1-3/1-1)

KEY PLAYMAKER
QB Taylor Rojas
The 6 year starter is having the worst season of his career posting just 272 yards passing, 0 TD passes & 5 interceptions. He has eclipsed 100 yards passing in just 1 of 4 games and is on pace to barely throw for 1,000 yards.
PRESEASON PREDICTION
3-13 (4th)
With the 28th ranked offense & 29th ranked defense last season, expectations weren't high as the team turned to 11 draft picks to replace lost veteran free agents. This season they are 31st in offense but have improved to 18th in defense. 5 of 12 remaining games are against teams with a current losing record so they have a shot to surpass their 3 win prediction.
■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■
NEW ENGLAND CRUSADERS (1-3/0-2)
They won in week 1 before losing 3 straight including 2 division games at home to Miami and or the road versus Buffalo. 3 of their next 4 games are on the road versus Orlando (Week 5), Texas (Week 7) & Los Angeles (Week 8) with the lone home game versus Seattle (Week 6).

He started 9 games last season where he threw for 1,282 yards, 6 TD passes & 9 interceptions. He has started every game this season and is on pace for 3,000 yards passing, 16 TD passes & 8 interceptions.
PRESEASON PREDICTION
4-12 (3rd)
They had the 23rd & 18th ranked offense & defense last season and when the offense has improved slightly to 22nd this season, the defense ranks dead last. They have 4 of the 12 remaining games versus teams with losing records.
■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■

They started the season perfect including Division wins on the road versus Cincinnati and at home versus Pittsburgh. They play KC & Saint Paul at home in week ls 5 & 6 before traveling to Pittsburgh & Indiana in weeks 7 & 8 to wrap up the 1st half of the season.
KEY PLAYMAKER
DT Jeremy Bishop
The 7 year vet hasn't started more then 4 games since 2039 and had 3 career sacks entering the season. He has started all 4 games this season and his 6 sacks is 6th in the league and the most by an interior defensive linemen. He is an early favorite to be named ALLPRO and a big reason the teams defense ranks 2nd overallm
PRESEASON PREDICTION
10-6 (3rd)
They ranked 18th & 11th in offense & defense last season and have improved both to 16th & 2nd this season. They have 4 games versus teams with losing records remaining which they should win and if they split the remaining 8 games, that puts them at 12-4 with a clear shot to win the division.
■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■
PITTSBURGH BLITZKRIEG (3-1/0-1)
The defending AXC Champs starting tge season with 3 of 4 games on the road and they won 2 of those road games but the sole lose came versus division rival Toronto. The next 4 games features 2 versus Cincinnati (Week 5 & 8), the rematch at home with Toronto (Week 7) and hosting Gem City (Week 6).

Pittsburgh traded a 1st & 3rd round pick plus CB Walter Olivarrio to New York to upgrade their secondary. Gauthier is currently tied for the league lead with 3 interceptions, has 10 knockdowns and allowed a 30.4 catch allowed percentage on 23 passes defended.
PRESEASON PREDICTION
11-5 (1st)
Traditionally, this is the toughest division in the league and 2044 is no different. Pittsburgh had the 11th & 15th offense & defense last season and this year they currently sit 10th & 7th. They have 7 home games remaining plus only face 3 opponents currently with a winning record.
■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■

PRESEASON PREDICTION
8-8 (3rd)
They had the 7th & 6th offense & defense last season and were considered a team in transition this season but they currently rank 11th & 10th in offense & defense. They haven't played a division game yet and have just 1 in the first 8 games. That gives them 5 division games in the final 8 games where they can make a run.
■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■
CINCINNATI DEFENDERS (2-2/0-1)
They lost a close game at home to division rival Toronto in week 1, 20-16 before winning their next 2 games and they lost on week 4 on the road to KC, 20-12. 3 of the next 4 games are against division opponents including 2 versus Pittsburgh (Week 5 & 8) plus they travel to Houston in week 6.
KEY PLAYMAKER
QB Remy Beaucamp
Last seasons #1 pick has started slow and if Cincinnati has any plans to challenge for their division, he will need to take a giant step forward. He currently has 618 yards passing, 5 TD passes, 8 interceptions and a 57.81 QBR. He has all the talent to succeed but he needs to unlock his tremendous potential.
PRESEASON PREDICTION
10-6 (2nd)
They finished 14th & 25th in offense & defense last season. They have improved to 13th & 6th this season but it's the passing game (26th) holding them back. They play 5 teams with winning records plus 4 teams with losing records in their last 12 games.
■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■

SOUTH
Orlando leads the Division by 1 game over Dakota & Texas with Daytona a distant 3 games back already. Overall/Division records are in parenthesis.

They play 3 of the next 4 games versus the AXC East. Home versus New England & Buffalo (Week 5 & 6) before traveling to Carolina & Miami in weeks 7 & 8.
KEY PLAYMAKER
WR George Wilson
Orlando's owner has been active on the trade market sending 2 1st round picks plus CB Albert Linton to Memphis for Wilson. The ALLPRO returner hasn't disappointed as he leads the team in receiving yards with 341 (3rd) & 3 TD receptions (8th). He hasn't made a huge impact in the return game thus far but obviously the potential is there.
PRESEASON PREDICTION
10-6 (2nd)
They finished with the 16th & 10th ranked offense & defense last season. They won a pivotal week 1 game versus Dakota at home 32-30 to set the tone for this season. They rank 9th & 11th in offense & defense this season. They have just 2 games left on the schedule versus teams with winning records so there is no reason to believe they can't win 11 to 12 games.
■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■
DAKOTA BLIZZARD (2-2/0-1)
They started the season 2-2 after playing 3 games against teams who made the postseason last season including loses to Orlando & Atlanta. PRESEASON PREDICTION
12-4 (1st)
They ranked 9th & 12th in offense & defense last season. They rank 6th & 15th so far this season. They should be favorite in 9 of their last 12 games with tough games at Buffalo (Week 10) plus home versus Orlando (Week 13) & Memphis (Week 14).
■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■
TEXAS HOLD'EM (2-2/0-1)
They start 2-2 and lost their own division game at home to Orlando, 27-3. They play in Dakota (Week 5), home vs. Atlanta (Week 6) & New England (Week 7) then travel to New York (Week 8).
KEY PLAYMAKER
RB Rodney McLamb
This 6 year vet has been a solid backup RB for most his career and for the first time in his career, he was given a shot at returning kicks. He has 2 KO returns this season and he returned both for TDs which leads the league. Amazingly, both happened in week 4 at Indiana and Texas won 20-15. RB George Gurley entered the season as the primary kick returner so will McLamb become the #1 KO returner?
PRESEASON PREDICTION
8-8 (3rd)
They ranked 30th & 24th in offense & defense last season. They are 32nd & 19th so far this season. They should be favorite in 5 of the last 12 games so if they can win a few of the other 7 games, they could finish with a winning record.
■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■
DAYTONA BEACH BULL SHARKS (0-4/0-1)
They started the season withb4 straight road games and they lost all 4 games. The schedule makers did the team no favors as they spent the entire month of September on the road. They play 3 of the next 4 games at home versus Carolina (Week 5), KC (Week 6) & Memphis (Week 8) with a trip to Dakota in week 7.
KEY PLAYMAKER
CB Timothy Allen

They ranked 31st & 28th in offense & defense last season. They have improved this season to 25th in both offense & defense despite being winless. The good news is they have 8 home games in their last 12 and the hope is they can win a few games and exceed expectations.
■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■

NXC

■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■

They host Vancouver in week 5 then travel to Montana in week 6 before playing their first division games, hosting Providence in week 7 before finally traveling to Washington to finish the 1st half of the season.
KEY PLAYMAKER
WLB William Neville

He added leadership to the defense plus leads them with 30 tackles (12th), 2 knockdowns, 1 interception and a 23.1 catch allowed percentage on 13 passes defended. He is the linchpin in the leagues #1 defense.
PRESEASON PREDICTION
7-9 (3rd)
They had the 21st & 27th ranked offense & defense last season and expectations were for the team to show improvement this season under the 2nd year of new ownership. Boy did they improve, posting the 12th & 1st ranked offense & defense so far this season. They play 6 division opponents in the final 12 games and their success in those games will determine just how much thus team has improved. They are just 1 win away from matching last seasons total.
■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■
PHILADELPHIA SLAYERS (3-1/3-0)
They won 3 of 4 games to start the season including all 3 division games when they swept Washington (Week 2 & 4) after beating Providence at home in week 1. They only lose came on the road to a dominate Arizona team, 56-12. They play 3× defending Champs Atlanta at home in week 5 before traveling to Vancouver & Zehlendorf (Week 6 & 8) with a home game versus Oakland sandwiched between.
KEY PLAYMAKER
QB Robbie Heath
The team traded away Juan Payne and have given the keys to the offense to their 3rd QB in 3 seasons. Heath was taken in the 2nd round of the 2043 draft and has shown the necessary talent to succeed in this league. He has 1,356 yards passing (2nd), 6 TD passes (11th), 9 interceptions (2nd) and a 71.37 QBR (20th). He needs to limit the turnovers while continuing to move the ball if Philly wants to repeat as division Champs for the 7th straight season.
PRESEASON PREDICTION
11-5 (2nd)
They ranked 5th & 2nd last season in offense & defense. They have improved the offense to 2nd this season but the defense has fell to 24th. They play Atlanta (Week 5), Brooklyn twice (Week 10 & 16) plus road games versus Vancouver (Week 6), Providence (Week 11) & Gem City (Week 15)
■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■

PRESEASON PREDICTION
12-4 (1st)
After winning 11 games last season with the 8th & 5th ranked offense & defense, expectations for this season were that they would finally overtake Philadelphia and win the division. Offensively, they have improved to 7th but 3 rookie 1st round picks on defense hasn't paid early dividends as they currently rank 21st. 7 of the 12 remaining games are at home including their final 4 games. This division should be fun to watch as 3 teams battle for the division Title down the stretch.
■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■
WASHINGTON WARRIORS (1-3/0-3)
After starting the season with a home win versus Saint Paul 31-10, they have lost 3 straight division games. CB Harry Parker
He has 22 tackles, 11 knockdowns, 1 interception and a 46.7 catch allowed percentage on 30 passes defended.
PRESEASON PREDICTION
6-10 (4th)
They ranked 24th & 13th last season in offense & defense. They rank 24th & 28th this season and with the division getting increasingly difficult, they may have a hard time matching the 6 win prediction. The good news is after week 8, they have just 1 division game remaining and 7 of the 8 final opponents don't currently have a winning record.
■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■

KEY PLAYMAKER
QB Gary Fielding
The Reigning MVP is playing his best football through 4 weeks. He has 1,239 yards passing (5th), 16 TD passes (1st), 1 interception and a 130.33 QBR (1st). He is on pace for a career year and in line to repeat as MVP. His current QBR would be the 4th highest in a season if he can maintain this blistering start.
PRESEASON PREDICTION
15-1 (1st)
They finished ranked 3rd & 5th in offense & defense last season and have gone 15-1 the past 2 seasons. They currently ranked 1st & 4th so it's a safe bet that they will win their division despite playing no division games to this point. After winning their division 3 straight seasons and making the playoffs the past 4 seasons, the only goal they haven't reached in winning in the postseason. The only challenges ahead of them in the regular season are hosting Memphis in week 5 and traveling to Atlanta in week 7.
■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■
LOS ANGELES CHALLENGERS (2-2/1-1)
They split their first 4 games including their 2 division games winning both home games & losing both road games. They travel to Vegas & Miami in weeks 5 & 6 then come home for Buffalo & New England to wrap up the 1st half of the season.

While the numbers aren't earth shattering, it's a big improvement over last season 6/15 TD/INT Stat line.
PRESEASON PREDICTION
6-10 (3rd)
They ranked 29th & 25th last season in offense & defense. They were bought by a new owner last season and expectations were high after hitting rock bottom last season going 0-16. They have improved to 17th & 12th this season and have 5 games remaining versus teams with losing records.
■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■
VEGAS BLACK ACES (1-3/1-1)
The schedule makers did Vegas bo favors handing them Atlanta & Memphis the first 2 games and they lost 3 straight after losing a close game in LA before finally getting a win in week 4 when they hosted Seattle. Henry was benched at home in week 4 versus division rival Seattle and Ryder was handed the ball. He responded by throwing for 349 yards, 3 TDs, 0 interceptions and a 130.44 QBR. The question becomes will Ryder, the 11 year veteran journeyman who went undrafted and has 11 career starts permanently replace Henry, a 10 year vet, former 1st round pick, 2× Champion with 119 career starts.
PRESEASON PREDICTION
8-8 (2nd)

PRESEASON PREDICTION
1-15 (4th)
They had the 31st ranked offense & defense last season and experts believed the team got even worse this season. With a surprising win in week 1, they have already exceeded some expectations and they currently rank 20th & 29th in offense & defense. They currently rank 18th & 23rd thus season but they have 7 games left versus teams with losing records. Can they win enough to get to .500?
■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■
GEM CITY GANGSTERS (1-3/1-0)

KEY PLAYMAKER
QB Michael Keeler
They gambled in the off-season when they traded QB Tom Crawford who led them to 3 straight postseasons and signed Keeler to a 6 year/261.9 million dollar free agent contract. GCSN was inundated with calls in the off-season with questions about what the front office was smoking to give Keeler such a large sum of money after coming off a 1,730 yard passing season where he had just 1 TD pass & 12 interceptions. The good news is Keeler has doubled his total TD passes from last season but the bad news is that is only 2 TD passes.
PRESEASON PREDICTION

They have won 6 straight Division Titles and had the 12th & 8th offense & defense last season. 5 of the 12 games left on the schedule are against teams currently with a winning record. PRESEASON PREDICTION
8-8 (2nd)
They ranked 21st & 23rd in offense & defense last season. They had a favorable schedule early which they were unable to take advantage of and end the season with 4 straight road games. They have improved to 15th & 20th this season but the results just haven't neen there.

SAINT PAUL PUNISHERS (0-4/0-2)
Saint Paul spent the entire month of September on the road as they lost all 4 games on the road. They play 2 more road games in the next 4 which will leave them with 6 home games in the final 8 games. The good news is nobody is running away with the division so if they can survive playing 6 of their first 8 games on the road, they might have a chance on the second half of the season.
KEY PLAYMAKER
QB Stephen Gibson
He is starting for the 5th straight season since being selected with the 4th overall pick in the 2040 draft. He hasn't lived up to the hype so far but he is on pace (20).to set a career high in TD passes.
PRESEASON PREDICTION
6-10 (4th)
They ranked 26th in offense & defense last season. They haven't won more then 5 games the past 5 seasons and starting 0-4 hasn't helped morale. They currently rank 27th in offense & defense this season but there is some hope in the 2nd half of the season where they play 6 of the final 8 games at home including the final 3 games.

14-2 (2nd)
They had the #1 offense & defense last season and have won 3 straight Titles. Experts believed the team was stacked and returning 51 of 53 players might lead to some complacency. They have fallen to the 5th & 8th ranked offense & defense thus season but the results haven't changed.

14-2 (1st)
They ranked 2nd & 9th in offense & defense last season and experts believed thus would be the year they would finally catch Atlanta. A 1 point lose on the road is the only thing separating the 2 teams but a week 5 matchup with Arizona is pivotal tk the NXC playoff race. All that truly matters is the week 9 rematch with Atlanta which will take place in Memphis.
