2055 1.11
PHILADELPHIA

WLB Waylon Bayer 33/80
Vol 36
6' 2" 241 lbs
Stevenson University

Philadelphia grabs and LB from a division 3 program with elite speed who should easily convert into a blitzing outside linebacker who is solid enough against the run to play all 3 downs. Philadelphia had a 14 straight postseason made streak broken in 2052 and now they have missed in 2 of the last 3 seasons. They drafted a LB to improve on last years 28th ranked defense as they look to start another run of playoff appearances.

Grade A

2055 1.12
SEATTLE

CB Jared Wade 30/77
Vol 42
6' 0" 213 lbs
Virginia

Seattle used their first two 1st round picks on offensive playmakers and ended up using their third and final 1st rounder on a defensive playmaker to help round out their team which reached the NXC Conference Championship game last season. This feels like the start of a decade long run by the Barbarians.

Grade A+

2055 1.13
KANSAS CITY

QB Michael Basham 41/90
Vol 22
6' 1" 202 lbs
California - Davis

The projected #1 QB in this year's draft actually went second among signal callers while falling to the 12th pick overall. Basham has elite intelligence, arm strength and pass accuracy with elite potential at vision and looking off Defenders. While he fell to 12th overall and was the second QB selected, he could end up becoming a francise QB and future HOFer. Only time will tell!

Grade A+

2055 1.14
PITTSBURGH

WLB Russell Hambright 32/74
Vol 18
6' 0" 237 lbs
Georgia Tech

Pittsburgh has been stuck in the middle the last 3 seasons where they have gone a combined 24-24. They had the 17th ranked offense and 16th ranked defense so they drafted an outside LB with a solid skill set a decent speed. Hambright doesn't jump off the screen or page but he is solid all the way around and should help improve the Blitzkrieg defense.

Grade A-

2055 1.15
INDIANA

RG Everett Thompson 25/93
Vol 44
6' 2" 289 lbs
TCU

After back to back AXC West division Titles in 2052 & 2053, Indiana stumbled down the stretch and finished 8-8 and missed the postseason. They drafted at #15 in the 1st round and most of the best playmakers were off the board so Indiana added an offensive lineman who has elite potential. Thompson could plug into the offensive line and play the next decade for the Fog at an ALLPRO level. Solid pick!

Grade A+

2055 1.16
LOS ANGELES

DT Todd Cornett 25/86
Vol 30
6' 2" 285 lbs
UCLA

Los Angeles announced last season that they are starting a new rebuild and they drafted a DT to give evidence that they may do this rebuild in the trenches. Controlling the line of scrimmage may be the priority.

Grade A

2055 1.17
PHOENIX

RT Kenneth Martin 22/89
Vol 24
6' 2" 282 lbs
Texas

Phoenix had a 14 year postseason appearance streak broken last season when they went 8-8. They used the 17th overall pick to bolster their offensive line with the selection of Martin. He has elite speed, quickness and intelligence and us built for the interior offensive line but that speed and quickness could push him outside to pass protection.

Grade A+

2055 1.18
TORONTO

QB Mark Guevera 23/78
Vol 66
6' 1" 208 lbs
Maryland

Toronto takes the 3rd QB in the 1st round as they look to find their francise QB. They had a 3 year run in the postseason snapped last season after letting 2 QBs split starts last season. Guevera has an elite arm, passes release and intelligence and the question becomes can he become accurate enough to take over the starting job.

Grade A-

2055 1.19
OAKLAND

WR Billy Hood 34/74
Vol 66
5' 11" 177 lbs
Texas A&M

Oakland had a 10 year playoff drought snapped last season when they won the AXC West division Title at 8-7-1. They used the 20th pick to take a diminutive WR with elite World class speed. If this WR can survive the rigorous of the XFL at his size, he could become an elite playmaker in the slot. Speed is one thing that can't be taught and Wood has it in spades.

Grade A+

2055 1.20
NEW YORK

WR Cliff Boston 36/76
Vol 96
6' 1" 197 lbs
Florida State

New York made the postseason for the 4th time in the last 5 years last season. They were 1 of 3 teams from the AXC East to reach the postseason. They selected WR Boston who has elite speed and great quickness. It's a matter of how he transitions in camp from college to the Pros that will dictate how much of a playmaker he can become but his speed opens that door for him.

2055 1.21
MEMPHIS

FS John Parris 32/68
Vol 28
6' 0" 200 lbs
Western Michigan

Memphis switched owners 5 years ago and they have made the postseason in 4 of the last 5 seasons. They had a top 10 offense last year so they drafted a FS to help last seasons 21st ranked defense. Parrish has near elite speed and is one of the best DBs left in the draft.

Grade A

2055 1.22
BROOKLYN

WR Archie Dubin 40/78
Vol 90
5' 11" 191 lbs
Missouri State

Brooklyn has made the postseason in 5 of the last 6 seasons and had the 4th ranked defense last season. They drafted a WR to help improve an offense that finished ranked 22nd last season. Dubin has elite speed and quickness and if he can transition from college to the Pros successfully, he could become an elite playmaker which instantly improves their offense. Worthwhile gamble!

Grade A

2055 1.23
MONTANA

WLB Eric Brand 36/81
Vol 91
6' 1" 234 lbs
Southern California

Montana has made the postseason in 3 of the last 4 seasons and finished with the 11th ranked offense and 12th ranked defense last year. They used the 23rd overall pick to select a LB with elite intelligence, strength and an elite LB skill set while he has just average speed but good quickness. He has all the skills to play either inside or outside linebacker.

Grade A

2055 1.24
CAROLINA

CB Robert Currie 35/88
Vol 92
5' 11" 195 lbs
Clemson

This is Carolina's third 1st round pick after selecting a WR & DB with the 3rd & 4th overall pick. They select a DB with the 24th overall pick who has a potential elite set of cover skills but he lacks high end speed. He could be a great compliment to DB Clark who they took with the 4th overall pick giving them a solid back end to their defense.

Grade A

2055 1.25
ATLANTA

WR Frank Martin 36/79
Vol 60
5' 8" 210 lbs
San Jose State

Despite Atlanta being on their 4th different owmer in the last 15 seasons, they have made the postseason in 14 of the last 15 seasons. They added a WR to last years 8th ranked offense who has a near elite potential of pass catching & ball carrying skills but he has just slightly above average speed.

Grade B+

2055 1.26
DAKOTA

QB Frank Crane 22/74
Vol 98
6' 1" 218 lbs
Clemson

Dakota once again dips it's toe in the QB market as they desperately search for their next francise quarterback. Crane is a bit of a longshot but at least he also has a backup position at RB where he has near elite speed so it's a calculated gamble which will be decided after training camp.

Grade A-

2055 1.27
PROVIDENCE

CB Victor Holm 28/72
Vol 86
6' 1" 214 lbs
Indiana

Providence is in the midst of a 14 year postseason run and they select a DB with great speed who should add more depth to the league's 3rd ranked defense. He will slot in where needed based on how he develops in TC.

Grade B

2055 1.28
WASHINGTON

WR Aaron Stillings 33/73
Vol 84
5' 11" 193 lbs
Notre Dame

This is Washington's second pick in the 1st down and after taking a QB with the 8th overall pick, they take a WR with the 28th overall pick. The WR gives the rookie QB a solid possession receiver with average speed. TC will determine just how key a component the WR will play in the offense.

Grade B

2055 1.29
NEW ENGLAND

WR Mark Cox 34/80
Vol 16
5' 1" 191 lbs
Southern California

New England snapped a 16 season postseason draught when they won the AXC East Division Title for the first time in francise history. They had the 4th ranked offense last year and they drafted a WR with the 29th overall pick. WR Cox has an elite receiver skill set but his speed is average at best which makes him a high end possession receiver.

Grade B

2055 1.30
TAMPA BAY

RT Alex Summey 32/78
Vol 28
6' 5" 315 lbs
North Dakota

Jilyman is entering his 4th year as owner and he selects the largest player to be drafted in the 1st round in RT Summey. The 6' 5", 315 lb offensive lineman has all the physical size you need to play in the XFL so it's just a matter of how he transitions in TC to the Pro game that will dictate his role for the Fireballs. Tampa Bay had the 10th ranked defense last season so addressing the 24th ranked offense became their focus which they have attacked by hopefully upgrading their offensive line.

Grade B

2055 1.31
GEM CITY

SS Dennis Headley 29/83
Vol 56
5' 10" 214 lbs
Temple

Gem City has made the postseason in 8 of the last 9 seasons including winning the NXC Conference Championship game last year. They had the 9th ranked offense and 7th ranked defense last season so they decided to add some youth to their secondary in SS Headley. He has elite potential pass coverage skills but like most of the draft he kacks elite speed. A quality addition at thus point of the draft.

Grade B+

2055 1.32
CINCINNATI

CB William Cipirano 32/76
Vol 90
5' 10" 209 lbs
Cincinnati

Cincinnati has had a great last 8 years where they have won 4 AXC Conference Championships and 2 XFL Titles including being the reigning XFL CHAMP. They drafted a DB with the 32 pick whi has near elite speed and the question becomes how does he do in TC which will dicate where he fits on the Championship roster. Great pick at #32!
