2055 NEWS & NOTES

By Cjfred68 - League Admin
3/09/2025 8:43 am
I've been going through a bunch in my life and it was my birthday this week so I haven't had much time to do much in the league. I'm still here and haven't abandoned the league so I hope everyone stays patient.

I finally got around to posting the 2055 HOF inductees and updated the HOF.

NEWS & NOTES (2055 WEEK 4)

XFL QUARTER POLE BREAKDOWN

We have reached the ¼ point of the 38th season of the XFL and with the competition level of the league at an Alltime high, only 4 teams remain undefeated. Two teams from each Conference are undefeated while on the reserve side, 5 teams are winless through 4 weeks.

AXC

The AXC only has 4 teams with a winning record through 4 weeks and 5 teams with a losing record leaving 7 teams log jammed at 2-2.

WEST
The West has KC (3-1) leading by 1 game over both Indiana (2-2) & Oakland (2-2) while Vancouver (0-4) is winless and a full 3 games behind.

KANSAS CITY
OWNER: Voryzover (7th season)
LAST SEASON: 6-10 (3rd place)
OFFENSE: 22nd
DEFENSE: 19th
TURNOVER MARGIN: +10
OUTLOOK: They have started strong with upset wins over Buffalo & New England plus a win over division rival Vancouver. They have ranked below average in both offense & defense but a +10 Turnover margin has led them to a 3-1 mark. It will be difficult to maintain this winning formula and the next 4 games will be key to how they position themselves for a much tougher 2nd half schedule.

INDIANA
OWNER: Mlowe (19th season)
LAST SEASON: 8-8 (2nd place)
OFFENSE: 26th
DEFENSE: 14th
TURNOVER MARGIN: +4
OUTLOOK: They started the season 2-0 before losing 2 straight versus tough NXC teams. They play 3 of their next 4 at home versus teams either 2-2 or 3-1. They need to find more from their offense as Rookie Fern Anthony has struggled to get going at RB. QB Jeffrey Lowell is in his 2nd year and hasn't shown consistency in the first 4 games. Defensively, they have been solid with 2nd year CB Matthew McClendon having 4 picks and veteran LDE Arthur Keck posted 6 sacks.

OAKLAND
OWNER: Datsmallboi (7th season)
LAST SEASON: 8-7-1 (1st place)
OFFENSE: 23rd
DEFENSE: 9th
TURNOVER MARGIN: +7
OUTLOOK: They started the season 2-2 but both wins have come versus winless division opponent Vancouver. The defense is a top 10 unit led but veteran DEs Keith Agullar & William Birdwell whi have 6 sacks each. The offense, however needs to improve as 2nd year QB David Travis has 1 TD passes to 5 INTs.

VANCOUVER
OWNER: OOG99 (2nd season)
LAST SEASON: 4-11-1 (last place)
OFFENSE: 30th
DEFENSE: -27th
TURNOVER MARGIN: -10
OUTLOOK: They are winless through 4 games after starting a rookie QB who has a sub 50% completion percentage. The defense has 2 DBs leading the team in tackles (35) while the secondary has combined for 1 interception.

EAST
Miami leads the division by 1 game over New England, New York & Buffalo making this the tightest division in the league.

MIAMI
OWNER: Androwski (2nd season)
LAST SEASON: 5-11 (last place)
OFFENSE: 4th
DEFENSE: 1st
TURNOVER MARGIN: -1
OUTLOOK: Miami's New owner has Miami humming in his 2nd season as owner. They started 3-0.before losing on the road at Montana 24-16 in week 4. The offense is top 5 and led by the former #2 pick in his 5th season, QB Kevin Trout who is the son of baseball HOFer Mike Trout. He already has 8 TD passes in 4 games which is just 4 away from his career best.

NEW ENGLAND
OWNER: Action-Jackson (3rd season)
LAST SEASON: 13-3 (Division Champ)
OFFENSE: 10th
DEFENSE: 25th
TURNOVER MARGIN: -11
OUTLOOK: They reigning division Champs won in week 1 before losing the next 2 games then won on the road at Buffalo to tighten this division into a 4 team race. Rookie RB Charles Lyons has carried the offense while 6 year veteran QB Alonzo Gibson has struggled early thowing 9 picks.

NEW YORK
OWNER: Amalric7 (7th season)
LAST SEASON: 9-7 (3rd place)
OFFENSE: 13th
DEFENSE: 11th
TURNOVER MARGIN: -4
OUTLOOK: They have also started the season 2-2 and shown above average ranks in both offense and defense but turnovers have been an issue. 4th year RB Duane Clark has looked good averaging 4.9 per rush while veteran CB William Kulas has 2 picks on defense.

BUFFALO
OWNER: Smirt211 (38th season)
LAST SEASON: 10-6 (2nd place/Wildcard)
OFFENSE: 6th
DEFENSE: 15th
TURNOVER MARGIN: +2
OUTLOOK: They have started 2-2 by losing both home games but winning both road games. Their offense leads the way with veteran QB Daniel Stroud posting a 120.59 QBR. Veteran CB John Barnett paces the defense in tackles and knockdowns.

NORTH
Toronto has started on fire and own a 2 game lead on the defending XFL Champion Cincinnati plus a 3 game lead over both Pittsburgh & Houston.

TORONTO
OWNER: Thanos4real (13th season)
LAST SEASON: 8-8 (2nd place)
OFFENSE: 18th
DEFENSE: 5th
TURNOVER MARGIN: +3
OUTLOOK: A favorable schedule propelled Toronto to a 4-0 start and it continues until week 7 when they play Cincinnati for the first of 2 matchups. The offense has been around average but their defense has carried this club to its perfect start. The defense is led by 3rd year DE Daniel Curley who has 7 sacks while veteran DE Tommy Martinez has added 5 sacks.

CINCINNATI
OWNER: Blondie1977 (22nd season)
LAST SEASON: 16-0 (XFL Champ)
OFFENSE: 1st
DEFENSE: 21st
TURNOVER MARGIN: -1
OUTLOOK: They started the season a bit flat and went 2-2 to fall 2 games behind Toronto but it's still early and the team isn't in panic mode. They boast the #1 offense in the league which is led by 5× MVP QB Gary Fielding. 9 year veteran Julio Hamilton is still effective as he adds to his Alltime rushing record on way to being a 1st ballot HOFer along with his QB.

PITTSBURGH
OWNER: Ioanblood (5th season)
LAST SEASON: 7-9 (3rd place)
OFFENSE: 27th
DEFENSE: 23rd
TURNOVER MARGIN: -4
OUTLOOK: They won in week 1 before losing 3 straight thanks to a rough schedule. They haven't shined on either offense or defense and the brightest spot is rookie LB Russell Hambright who leads the team in tackles.

HOUSTON
OWNER: Johnwaynecowboy (1st season)
LAST SEASON: 1-15 (last place)
OFFENSE: 28th
DEFENSE: 26th
TURNOVER MARGIN: -1
OUTLOOK: They have already matched last years win total through 4 games and the new owner should improve on last years 1-15 mark while he evaluates the players on the roster. Rookie SS James Vinson has played well despite great speed and leads the team in tackles.

SOUTH
Daytona remains undefeated and holds a commanding 2 game lead over Dakota, 3 game lead over Texas and 4 game lead over Orlando.

DAYTONA
OWNER: McBolt55 (7th season)
LAST SEASON: 14-2 (Division Champ)
OFFENSE: 14th
DEFENSE: 3rd
TURNOVER MARGIN: +5
OUTLOOK: They are perfect through 4 games and poised to win their 3rd straight division Title as Dakota is clearly rebuilding plus Orlando & Texas aren't ready to compete just yet. Their offense does just enough while their defense stops the other team from scoring. They are clearly a team defense as no player stands out but the unit has allowed just 20 points total in 4 games.

DAKOTA
OWNER: Cjfred68 (38th season)
LAST SEASON: 12-4 (2nd place/Wildcard)
OFFENSE: 15th
DEFENSE: 17th
TURNOVER MARGIN: -4
OUTLOOK: This perennial contender has been looking for a francise QB since HOF QB Robert Alvarez retired after the 2049 season. They have used stop gap veterans the past 5 years but they think they have found their new francise QB in rookie QB Frank Crane. They know he isn't a finished product was they are prepared to take their lumps while he learns on the job.

TEXAS
OWNER: Kidpoker (6th season)
LAST SEASON: 5-11 (3rd place)
OFFENSE: 17th
DEFENSE: 8th
TURNOVER MARGIN: +3
OUTLOOK: They have gotten off to a 1-3 start but they have stats that show they probably should be 3-1 or 2-2 at worst. 5th year starting QB Steven Parent has great numbers but hasn't gotten much bang for his 105.35 QBR buck.

ORLANDO
OWNER: Shark1720 (2nd season)
LAST SEASON: 2-14 (last place)
OFFENSE: 32nd
DEFENSE: 30th
TURNOVER MARGIN: -2
OUTLOOK: They have started winless and by the looks of it they may struggle to exceed last years 2 win total. Their really isn't much to brag about but they did sign QB Remy Beaucamp who finally put together a good season last year with Dakota before imploding in the postseason. He was subsequently cut by Dakota and signed with Orlando and he has reverted back to his "bust/Leif" status!

I finished the AXC late Thursday night and will do the NXC next but if I don't have time to finish it before game 5 then I will do it after game 5 since it's the weekend.

Sorry guys, work has been intense and I have very little play time since the new boss took over. He is work, work, work without an apology. I never wanted this position or promotion but they don't seem to think I need to be replaced.

BROOKLYN
OWNER: Big Poppa (7th season)
LAST SEASON: 12-4 (2nd place/Wildcard)
OFFENSE: 13th
DEFENSE: 8th
TURNOVER MARGIN: -5
OUTLOOK: Brooklyn has stumbled out of the gate despite nearly having a top 10 offense & defense. They didn't lose 2 games by 6 points and protecting the football has been the issue. 5th year veteran WR Popcorn Sutton is leading the offense with 495 yards receiving through 5 games while 3rd year DE Jinky Elliot has 11 sacks to lead the defense.

WASHINGTON
OWNER: slowtospeak (4th season)
LAST SEASON: 4-12 (4th place)
OFFENSE: 26th
DEFENSE: 13th
TURNOVER MARGIN: -1
OUTLOOK: Considering the team hasn't won then 5 games the last 4 seasons, a 2-3 start is a solid start and 7 to 9 wins isn't out of the question. Rookie QB Tim Williams has been inconsistent thus far and needs to show improvement if Washington wants to exceed 5 wins while 7th year veteran DE Pete Capone has made an early statement with 10 sacks.

PHILADELPHIA
OWNER: Mwd65 (4th season)
LAST SEASON: 8-8 (3rd place)
OFFENSE: 15th

TURNOVER MARGIN: -3
OUTLOOK: This perennial contender slipped to 8-8 last season after bouncing back from a 3-13 2052 season when they went 11-5 in 2053. The offense is led by 8 year veteran WR David Moore while defensively, 8 year veteran CB Leroy Turner has 2 picks.

WEST
Seattle (5-0) stays perfect and leads the division by 1 game over Phoenix (4-1) with Los Angeles (2-3) 3 games behind and Vegas (1-4) a full 4 games out.

PHOENIX
OWNER: Nukexprt (2nd season)
LAST SEASON: 8-8 (2nd place)
OFFENSE: 18th
DEFENSE: 5th
TURNOVER MARGIN: +1
OUTLOOK: They missed the postseason last after 14 straight years making the playoffs when they finished 8-8. They have gotten off to a great start at 4-1 and will look to make last year and temporary blip. Offensively, they are led by 4 year RB Daniel Mardsen while defensively they have been paced by 8 year veteran SS David Smothers who leads the team in tackles.

LOS ANGELES
OWNER: Warthog (13th season)
LAST SEASON: 5-11 (3rd place)
OFFENSE: 28th
DEFENSE: 21st
TURNOVER MARGIN: +4
OUTLOOK: Los Angeles has been consistently inconsistent the last dozen seasons where they have 3 winning season, 6 losing seasons and 3 seasons where the finished 8-8. RB Clyde Batten is in his 3rd year and paces the offense while 6 year veteran FS Kevin Kangas leads the defense in tackles and knockdowns.

VEGAS
OWNER: Claymore (34th season)
LAST SEASON: 5-11 (4th place)
OFFENSE: 7th
DEFENSE: 30th
TURNOVER MARGIN: -6
OUTLOOK: This team has a rich history of success but they are currently in a down cycle as they have missed the postseason in 7 of the last 8 years. Offensively, they are led by 4 year veteran WR Lawrence Newcomb who is one of the top WRs in the league but defensively they have struggled despite 9 year veteran CB posting 40 tackles.

Montana (4-1) & Gem City (4-1) once again are tied for the division lead while Randolph sits 2 games back and Saint Paul (0-5) are winless and floundering 4 games out of 1st place.

OWNER: Trslick (36th season)
LAST SEASON: 10-5-1 (2nd place/Wildcard)
OFFENSE: 17th
DEFENSE: 7th
TURNOVER MARGIN: +7

GEM CITY
OWNER: Raidergreg69 (35th season)
LAST SEASON: 14-2 (Conference Champ)
OFFENSE: 9th
DEFENSE: 24th
TURNOVER MARGIN: -1
OUTLOOK: GEM City reached the Title game last year for the first time in 27 seasons which was nice to see and the question is will they maintain that success or was it just a flash in the pan. RANDOLPH
OWNER: Shanman (4th season)
LAST SEASON: 2-14 (4th place)
OFFENSE: 20th
DEFENSE: 29th
TURNOVER MARGIN: +3
OUTLOOK: This francise owns 4 NXC Conference Championships and 2 XFL Titles but that was ages ago because they are stuck in a 17 year postseason drought. They started the season 2-0 to match last year's win total before losing 3 straight. The offense is led by 6 year veteran RB Jame Saephan while the defense is paced by 3 year LB John Huerta who leads the team in tackles.

SAINT PAUL
OWNER: pronfl51 (4th season)
LAST SEASON: 3-13 (3rd place)
OFFENSE: 31st
DEFENSE: 28th
TURNOVER MARGIN: +4
OUTLOOK: This francise once won 3 consecutive NXC Conference Championships but that was 18 years ago and they have missed the postseason the last 17 years. They are winless so it's most likely 18 straight seasons. Bright spots on offense are hard to find but 4 year LB Wilfredo Essex leads the defense with 44 tackles, 8 knockdowns and 1 interception.

LAST SEASON: 6-10 (3rd place)

OFFENSE: 5th

OWNER: Timreesejr (6th season)
LAST SEASON: 9-6-1 (2nd place/Wildcard)
OFFENSE: 6th
DEFENSE: 12th
TURNOVER MARGIN: -7
OUTLOOK: Statistically this team is solid except in turnovers where they have a -7 TO margin. Offensively, they are led by 9 year veteran and 2× ALLPRO WR Bobby Covert while the defense is led by rookie FS John Parrish who leads the team in tackles.

CAROLINA
OWNER: Drhayhurst (14th season)
