EARLY SEASON REPORT

We are through 2 games of the 39th season of the XFL and proudly full of owners. I want to offer a heartfelt thanks for all 31 owners for sticking around despite my relative absence over the last several months. I still log in everyday to check results but unfortunately, I haven't been able to accomplish much else then run my team. I do have the HOF ballot selected and Im nearly done adding the 1st ballot nominees so it should be coming soon.

Im releasing a custom power ranking based on my formula of wins/loses, Total offense & Total defense plus TO margin.


AXC

The AXC has 7 teams that remain undefeated including Miami at 1-0-1 while 5 teams are winless including New England who is 0-1-1.

NXC

The NXC has just 4 teams that remain undefeated and a full 6 teams that are winless through 2 games.

RANDOM THOUGHTS

We are down to.just 6 undefeated teams including Miami (2-0-1) after 5 teams lost entering week 3 with a 2-0 record.

We still have 8 teams looking for their 1st win of the season entering week 4.

My Dakota Blizzards lead the league with 133 points scored joining Miami (110), Cincinnati (107) and Seattle (102) as teams with 100+ points scored through 3 games.

Providence has only allowed 9 points thus far to lead the league in points allowed joining Indiana (16) and Miami (23) as the top defensive points allowed teams.

PASSING

QB Larry Scruggs (CIN)

He is the active leader in passing yards with 44,880 yards and sits 13th Alltime as he signed with Cincinnati to replace retired and soon to be 1st ballot HOFer QB Gary Fielding. The 16 year veteran is playing with his 5th team and may have his best season yet as he joins a team that has reached the XFL Championship game in 4 of the last 9 seasons. To crack the top 10 in passing Alltime, Scruggs needs 2,065 more passing yards.

He also currently sits 15th Alltime in career passing TDs with 278 and needs 40 more passing TDs to crack the top 10.

QB Daniel Stroud (BUF)

He is playing his 17th season in the XFL and sits 16th Alltime in passing yards with 43,399. This is his 4th season with Buffalo and his 5th team his played on in his career. He will need another 3,563 passing yards to crack the top 10 Alltime.


RUSHING

WR Julio Hamilton (CIN)

He is another future 1st ballot HOFer who already owns the career rushing mark with 13,279 yards rushing. To put that in prospective, there are only 9 players who have cracked the 10,000 yard mark in rushing and Hamilton has 1,331 more yards then 2nd Alltime Leroy Bello (ATL) who is retired. In fact, the rushing yards leader behind Hamilton is WR Danny Melillo (FA) who isn't playing as he sits at home waiting for a phone call. Melillo sits 7th Alltime with 10,498 yards rushing. The closest active rusher is WR Manuel Crippen (SEA) who ranks 39th Alltime with 7,339 yards rushing in his 9th season.

He still has hopes of surpassing Bello in rushing TDs Alltime as Bello retired with 72 while Hamilton ranks 3rd Alltime with 65 rushing TDs. Hamilton needs 4 more to match Brian Hughes (BUF) and 7 more to match Bello.


RECEIVING

WR Bobby Covert (MEM)

He ranks 8th Alltime in receiving yards with 11,079 yards. He needs 921 more yards to become just the 8th player to eclipse 12,000 yards receiving.

WR James Hulbert (FA)
He ranks 13th Alltime in receiving yards with 10,109 yards. He is already just of 14 players to eclipse 10,000 yards receiving but he needs to sign a contract if he has any chance of moving up the receiving yards lost.

WR Richard Hoffman (PRI)
He ranks 15th Alltime in receiving yards with 9,873 yards. He needs just 127 more receiving yards to become the 16th member of the 10,000 yard receiving club.

RUSHING/RECEIVING

WR Barry Williams (DAK)

He is the only member of the 9,000/9,000 club where he finished his career with 9,061 yards rushing and 9,054 yards receiving.

WR Julio Hamilton (CIN)

He already owns the Alltime rushing yards record with 13,279 yards and he sits at 8,993 yards receiving. He needs just a paltry 7 yards receiving to become the 2nd member of the exclusive 9,000/9,000 club and if he can amass 1,007 more receiving yards, he would become the 1st member of the 10,000/10,000 Club. Pretty amazing!!!

KICKING

K Corey Pate (PRI)

He currently ranks 3rd Alltime in FGs with 511/584 and needs 34 more to match HOFer K Gustavo Fring (GCG). He is 86 behind K John McKinney (ORG) and will need to play multiple more seasons as he plays in year 15.

He is also 3rd Alltime with 121/161 50+ yard FGs but just needs 1 more for 2nd Alltime and 8 more to match K John McKinney for 1st Alltime

ANOTHER XFL REGULAR SEASON IS IN THE BOOKS

Although I have been mostly absent from posting during the season, it's been another competitive campaign.

AXC

After a 2 year absence, Indiana won the West division Title as the only team from that division to make the playoffs.

The East division was won by New England for the 3rd straight season while Miami secures a Wildcard for the second straight season after a 20 year drought.

For the 10th straight year, Cincinnati has won the North division and secured the bye in the Conference. Toronto has secured a Wildcard spot for the 5th time in the last 6 years.

Daytona has owned the AXC South by winning 6 of the last 8 division Titles while Dakota bounced back after missing the postseason last year for just the 2nd time in XFL history!

The biggest surprise in the Conference was Miami outlasting Buffalo for the final postseason slot over perennial playoff contender Buffalo which missed the postseason for just the 3rd time in XFL history and 1st time since 2019!


NXC

Providence won the East division Title for the 4th straight season and 10th time in the last 12 seasons while also securing the Bye in the Conference. Brooklyn bounced back after missing the postseason last year with a Wildcard berth and have reached the postseason in 5 of the last 6 years.

Seattle continues it's recent run of success by winning the West Division Title for the 3rd straight season after breaking a 22 season playoff drought.

Gem City has reclaimed the North Division Tilte for the 3rd time.in the last 4 years while Montana secures a Wildcard to reach the postseason for the 5th time in the last 6 seasons.

Atlanta won the South Division Title for the 6th straight season after missing the postseason in 2050. Tampa Bay makes it back to back 9-7 Wildcards after 4 straight seasons missing the dance.

The biggest surprise in the Conference has to be Memphis which snapped a 15 year run of finishing with a winning record to finish 5-11.
