Happy Holidays

First let me say happy holidays to everyone. I hope each and every one of you had a great holiday and an even better new year.

My work schedule has been heavy so I apologize for taking so long to finish my draft recap. It is done, thank god and despite one horrible pick which I will address later, everyone made some quality picks to improve each team.

If you havent read the other thread, we lost an owner because I blastes his pick in the recap. First let me say, despite my differences with said owner, I had no problem with him being in this league. With that being said, my job as admin is to keep this league active and competitive. That means reviewing trades, draft picks and checking rosters to make sure nobody is tanking or being negligent with their team.

Now Im not a supreme expert nor do I believe there is only one way to do things so reaching for a pick in the first round that others may consider a 2nd rounder isnt what Im talking about. Sometimes owners draft for need and that means taking a player above his true draft position. Taking a player that most would consider a 4th round pick at best with a top ten pick upsets the competitive balance of this league. Even after that, I planned to take no action against the owner other then to point out that his pick was unreasonable and the reason why.

The owner, who is famous for putting other owners out there for:
- trading too much
- offering too many free agent contracts
- being negative under the cap
- having a high dead cap

All in the name of ruining teams, leagues and competitve balance, didnt like his name being mentioned negatively. He took it personally, adbandoned his team and deleted any post he made in any of our forums.

His departure took us down to 28 owners and he warned me, how I am driving away owners. At the time of this post we now have 30 owners.

I hope you all welcome our new owners to our league. A league where we want highly competitive owners looking to draft well, sign free agents and trade all with the goal of winning. Not everyone can win it all but we can all compete and thats all Im asking for.

As I look up and down our league at the group of owners we have assembled, I am proud of what this league has become and I look forward to the seasons to come.

Happy New Year everyone and good luck as we enter training camp and another great XFL season.

No worries, cjfred. You're doing a great job with this league!
I think you handled the situation fairly and he made it personal.
You're aware of my own public forum experiences with the same owner in the past.
(Apparently I overuse the waiver wire...)

Much like professional sports teams, sometimes it is possible to achieve addition by subtraction. ;)

I recall where it all started and you were unjustly dragged out in middle of the Towne Square on the Main Forum in an attempt to tar and feather you over your cap management.

Also, I didn't have an issue with your write-up on the selection. I'd have written the same snarky remarks if I was covering it. The best part was the 3 friends calling and the player hanging up thinking they were PUNK'ing him. LOL

Love the league.

Happy Holidays to you, as well. :)

Cj is doing a fine job and the league looks very good, I need to get my boys in working order to
play with the big dogs!
As for the other matter, there are those that need a trip to the wood shed and never understand
why!

Thanks everyone for the kind words. Like I always say, its all of you guys that help to make this league great.

Happy to report we are up to 31 owners and with a little time before the season starts hopefully we can fill out the league as we enter season 5 of the XFL.
