MFN AI Teams

I don't want to light up the main board with this but I just scoured through MFN-18 and every open team is like -$24 million or worse cap wise. I was looking for a potential team pick-up and came across that.

I don't remember it being this prevalent.

The AI behavior has to be fixed in FA signings and re-signings. :(

I agree Smirt......MFN leagues have become like the wild west. No laws, nobody in charge and the rich get richer while abandoned teams get destroyed by the A.I. which floods the waive wire meaning good teams get better while those teams get buried.

I think the single biggest problem with MFN is the lack of quality league admins. I cut back to about 13 teams with most of them custom being run by a good admin. It frees ne up to admin our league which can be time consuming at times as I try to add content, review trades and keep an eye out for cap problems before they become a disaster.

I know being league admin isnt for everyone but we need more people adopted some of these leagues, cleaning them up and recruiting owners to join.

I also cant blame owners for not taking some of these open teams that are a mess

I also think the AI could be cleaned up. I see the AI constantly resigning old players for huge multi year contracts and overbidding on old free agents. Those guys then retire, loading the team with dead cap, and triggering the cycle mentioned. It didn’t use to be a problem when players demanded less money, but after that was adjusted about 6 seasons ago, this problem has been building.

Mardn, you nailed it. That's the difference on why it has become so much more pronounced. I remember when demands were adjusted to make it harder for GMs to re-sign everyone under the sun.

Thus we have a combination of that plus when leagues expanded into the MFN-80s + Private Leagues all the other leagues started losing GMs from it getting over-saturated. We're wayyyyyyyyyyyyy down that road now.

CJ, you're right. Leagues ran by you, Tribewriter, Michael and GDB among a few others have come to feel like HOME whereas the traditional leagues don't generate that same feeling. Rallying behind certain Private Leagues and building up QUALITY over Quantity makes a lot of sense. XFL, USFL, Arena....adding to and power housing them while the MFN-#s fade out....getting all the highly active GMs under one roof instead of scattered playing in leagues which are roughed up.
