Re: Stretch Drive/Injuries

We have arrived at the point of the season where ever game matters and every team is dealing with injuries. A quick look and a bunch of teams have 10 injuries with the average somewhere between 7 and 8.

Injuries vary from probable 1 to doubtful 8 and how each team manages their injuries will go a long way in determining what teams reach the playoffs and what teams reach the playoffs healthy.

Its a fine line when deciding when to play injured players and when to rest them. For instance, a probable 5 can play and be effective but an injured player runs the risk of a more serious injury. The same probable 5 player if deactivated for the game can gain a double recovery bonus and go from P5 to P3.

The goal is to reach the playoffs healthy so each game you have to determine the quality of opponent, the quality of depth you have at the injured position and decide to either push it and play the injured player or rest him to speed up recovery.

This is where roster management is crucial in the game. Having depth up and down the roster as well as having versatile players that can play multiple positions allows you to rest injured players while also allowing your depth players to play and progress.

Just something to keep in mind as we hit the stretch drive and see what teams will make the playoffs

I also like to look at the % of health. Probable starts at 50% health, and goes up to 70 or 75% so I'm more likely to sit a guy whose ankle is 55% and start a guy at 70%. I also factor in which body part is injured. A lineman with a hand at 55%, **** it up and play buttercup. A WR or RB with a 55% hand is a different story.

I hate that we don't have a little more control over pulling starters. Like allowing them to be put back in if the other team starts to catch back up or something

I was up by 18 in the 4th quarter and on the other side of the field. Had there been 2 minutes less left in the game or if I had had 3 more points my starters woulda been pulled but my starting running back got hurt. I have it set to the max setting on if it will pull my starters and go into clock drain mode but it's not enough. We should be able to set a higher threshold and be allowed to put starters back in if a min threshold is met.
