Milwaukee Buzzsaws

New ownership, new city, new nickname, new attitude, new roster.

The franchise formerly located in Indianapolis is undergoing a complete makeover, starting with new owner mardn72. An experienced owner in other league, he takes over a team that needs help, in a division that will cut him no breaks.

"This is the roughest roster I've ever taken over. I've already cut a lot of guys that don't have any business playing professional football. What we're left with isn't much better, but we're going to change that. This season is about fixing the salary cap and getting some players to start building for the future. We may even learn a few plays."

Sounds like the new fan base in Milwaukee should prepare for a rough first season.

After taking the safest pick in the class, OL Curtis Holland, Milwaukee has selected the biggest gamble in the draft, QB Joe Fain (https://xfl.myfootballnow.com/player/4653). Fain has all the intangibles you'd want in a QBs - intelligence, arm strength, release, scambling, etc. There are serious questions though if he can actually play the position at the pro level. Coming from a college so small, it's not even listed in the league database, Fain will have to prove himself. If he does though, he could be Milwaukee's cornerstone QB.

After a 7-9 season that exceeded ownership's expectations, Milwaukee continues it's rebuild. Their first move of the offseason was hiring new head coach William Moses. Moses, tasked with leading this team to the promised land, brings a new West Coast offense and a balanced defensive approach. Owner mardn72 said: "I'm excited to have William onboard to lead these players on the field. I've had great success with coaches with experience running the West Coast offense, and expect that to continue here."

With a new head coach, the team decided to accelerate their rebuild a bit, making deals for additional first and second round draft picks. That gave the team 6 picks in the first three rounds. The first round saw them pick sure bets DB William Roof and WR Shane Weiser. In the second round, they continued to build their secondary with DBs Paul Nock and Jose Wilber. The third round played out better than the team even hoped and they were able to select RB Jose Janke and LB Doug Rodgers. With a good training camp, all six players could be top tier starters for this team.

"I'm excited about the direction of this team. Last season, we scrapped out more wins than even I expected. Morton got some good experience, and while he struggled a bit, he showed he could be our long term QB. This team will be better this year, but we may actually win less games. I'm hoping we can put some fear into opponents when they see us on their schedule."
