A sellout crowd of 65,492 people at Rapid City Stadium witnessed the first game in francise history for the Dakota Blizzard. It also marked the birth of the XFL with the Blizzard winning easily with a fast, smothering defense and an up tempo offense with rookie QB Randall Cunningham throwing for nearly 300 yards in a near flawless performance. Cunningham completed 14 of 20 passes for 297 yards and 3TDs. In Addition veteran RB Michael Look ran for 149 yards on 21 carries including a 70 yard TD dash on the first offensive play in franchise history. The near flawless performance by the Blizzard was marred by a devastating knee injury to the speedy RB Look that early reports will sideline the back at least 6 to 8 weeks. The defense was led by a pair of mammoth DTs, Burt Dozer and Britt Wall that helped limit the opponent to 16 yards rushing. In all the defense allowed 244 yards of offense and caused 2 turnovers.

Dakota has made it to the playoffs all four seasons in the XFL and has reached the AXC Conference Championship the first three years and will look to reach it a fourth straight year. Dakota, the XFL I champions hold a league best 8-2 record alltime in the playoffs and hope to use that extensive playoff experience to capture their second XFL title.

Blizzard Blast Blitz Brothers!!!!

Damon Todd & William Strong have 23 sacks each this season. That's 46 combined sacks which is just 1 sack shy of the single season record for a pair of edge rushers.

On top of the single season success, the pair are jockeying for the #1 ALLTIME sack king where Todd leads Strong currently 107 to 106!

Finally, the pair are 5 sacks short individually from the single season record for sacks which is 28, held by Robert Lapham (SPP) back in 2022.

RDE William Strong sets single season sack record with 5 sack performance against Daytona in week 13!!!

The 5 sacks give him 29 for the season, passing the record of 28 held by LDE Robert Lapham (SPP), back in 2022.

Teammate LDE Damon Todd is 2 sacks off the pace with 27 sacks with 3 games remaining.

The duo ha e already established a new record for a sack tantrum with 56 sacks combined which obliterated the previous record of 46 sacks.

Amazingly, the two defensive ends have become 1st & 2nd Alltime in Career sacks this season and the two jockey places after every game. Strong currently holds the lead with 112 career sacks while Todd is 2nd with 111 career sacks.

This 2 players will forever be linked in XFL history as the greatest sack duo and it appears William Strong will eventually become the Alltime sack king since he is 3 years younger than Todd despite the fact neither seems to be slowing down any time soon.
