Poor QB choices

How do I get my QB to look downfield? 80% of my pass plays, my QB is checking down to the RB when there are multiple receivers yards behind their defenders. I'm getting frustrated because he's throwing into tight coverage when there are open receivers to which he could throw.

I would suggest changing your offensive plays a bit. Self scout yourself and remove any plays that are performing poorly, and also check the play diagram. Not every pass play has RBs run a route, and this is one such play using 2 RB/3 WR.

I constantly remove plays that are under-performing (after I have a large enough sample size per play)

My main issue is that my QB would rather throw a short, tightly covered route than a longer uncovered one....

I think your receivers aren't good enough to get the ball. The quarterback will continue to force dumpoffs if he doesn't trust the WR's. Shake up your receiving corps, especially start your high draft pick, and see if that helps. The existing starter just isn't fast enough to be a #1 receiver. Humphrey isn't nearly as good as the default says he is. That guy needs to be a threat.

I was under the impression that your #2 should actually be your best receiver....

Over-rides. :)

#2, yes and no. It depends.

FL Hitch, WR #2 all day for the money shot. However, if you hit the same set's PA Fullback Flat it goes over the top to the WR #1. I know a couple others that can go to the WR #1 but I'll leave it there.

That's actually true, but you still need a good #1 in order to make it work. The problem I think you're having is the general talent level, which can be fixed if you put the right receivers in the right places.

Not sure of his alignment but he does possess the weapons. Those 45 and 61 speed play makers need to be cast aside to after thoughts or into 'dork' routes. (Up and INs, boring possession routes)

First thing I'd do is make Partridge go weeeee to WR, tacking on 3 speed points. He has 2 other RB/WR weapons with 90 speed......I'd pound those 3 all day into each offensive formation into the proper damage inducing spots.
