The playoffs are fast approaching and the league seems to be entering a new era as some former downtrodden teams have emerged as contenders!!!

The conference is still led by perennial contenders like Dakota & Buffalo but the North & West divisions have become extremely competitive.
WESTOakland has owned this division since the league's inception as they have won 15 of the 23 possible division crowns. They find themselves 1 game behind Kansas City with 3 road games remaining versus 3 contenders with a combined record of 27-12. To reclaim the division, they need to win out and hope KC loses a game.
Kansas City has only won the division 3 times and hasn't made the playoffs the past 4 seasons but they find themselves in 1st place with 3 games remaining and have a favorable remaining schedule. They have won 3 straight and if they can win their last 3 games versus 3 teams with a combined record of 11-28, they will win their 4th division crown.
Indiana has only won the division 1 time in francise history and that's when they played in Denver. They did finish 9-7 last season and broke a 8 year playoff drought in the process. They find themselves 1 game behind KC with 3 games remaining but they actually control their own destiny since they play both KC (week 15) and Oakland (week 16). If Indiana wins out, they win the division for just the 2nd time in francise history and 1st since moving to Indiana.
Vancouver has won the 2nd most division Titles with four but they are in a clear rebuild with a 2-11 record. They have amassed 11 draft picks for the upcoming draft including 2 picks in the 1st & 2nd round plus 3 picks in the 3rd round. They will be drafting in the top ten of the 1st round plus they have Dakota's 1st, 2nd & 3rd round pick.
EASTBuffalo has owned the East, winning 19 of 23 possible division Titles. While Buffalo should win the division once again, it's been a down year for the team which has posted 4 loses in a season for the first time since 2033. They haven't lost 5 games in a season since 2022 and will try to avoid that fate by winning their last 3 games. Buffalo just needs 1 win or 1 New England lose in the final 3 games to clinch.
New England has never won their division and only made the postseason 3 times in 23 years. While New England is mathematically still alive to win the division, it would entail them winning out while hoping Buffalo loses out. Realistically, New Engalnd needs to win out and get some help to sneak in as a wildcard.
New York won the 1st two division Titles in league history before never finishing above .500 for the next 16 seasons. They did break a 19 season postseason drought 2 seasons ago where they finished 10-6 and went in as a Wildcard. The team has amassed talented players but they took a major step backwards last season, finishing 4-12 and experts believed they could bounce back this season. While only 5-8 and already eliminated from the postseason, a closer look shows that 7 of their 8 loses were by 1 score or less including 2 loses by 1 point and 2 loses by 3 points. New York is very close and they just need a few breaks to turn it around next season.
Miami has won 2 division Titles in 23 seasons but have missed the postseason the past 6 seasons. This is the 3rd season under new ownership and after finishing 7-9 last season, seemed poised to take the next step this season but a 4-9 mark has been disappointing. They started the season 0-4, losing 3 of those games by 1 score including 2 by a fieldgoal and 1 of those in overtime. In week 5, they beat Buffalo 33-32 and have gone 4-5 since the 0-4 start. Like New York, Miami has put together some nice talent and the roster is young so the future looks bright.
NORTHCincinnati has won 6 of the 23 division Titles including 3 of the last 5. They find themselves in a division where all 4 teams are separated by 1 game. Cincinnati controls their own destiny so if they win their last 3 games versus teams with a combined 20-19 record, they win the division.
Toronto has won 2 of the 23 division Tiles including 2 of the past 4 and they are the defending division Champs. They missed the postseason for the first 19 seasons of the league before making the postseason for the past 4 seasons. Toronto needs to win out including division games versus Pittsburgh and Houston and hope Cincinnati loses a game to win the division.
Houston has won 5 of the 23 division Titles but the last was 6 seasons ago. They need to win out including a week 16 rematch with Toronto and hope Cincinnati loses a game to win the division.
Pittsburgh has won 10 of the 23 division Titles including 9 straight from 2023-2031 but they haven't won one in the last 9 seasons. Pittsburgh needs to win out including a week 15 rematch with Toronto and hope Cincinnati loses 2 games plus Houston loses a game to force a 3 way tie for the division which would then come down to tiebreakers like common opponents or points.
SOUTHDakota has won 21 of the 24 division Titles including this season. They have clinched the division and buy already with 3 games remaining and will use the final 3 games to get healthy and play more depth. Dakota adds to their league record of 24 straight playoff appearances.
Texas has won 2 of the 24 division Titles. While they are eliminated from winning their division, they are still alive for a wildcard spot. Texas needs to win out and hope New England loses a game plus either Pittsburgh loses 2 games or Houston or Cincinnati loses out.
Michigan has won 1 division Title, way back in 2018, the inaugural season of the XFL. They made the postseason in 2 of the past 3 seasons while finishing .500 or better in 5 of the past 6 seasons but never winning double digit games in the same time period. They had been stuck in a sort of limbo so the organization drafted a new quarterback and in week 3 he became the full-time starter. Michigan hopes by taking a step back this season and grooming a quarterback of the future, they can take several steps forward and reach double digit wins for the first time since 2025.
Daytona has never won their division and never made the postseason. In 2018, they finished 10-6 and missed the playoffs because both wildcard teams finished 10-5-1. In 2026, they finished 9-7 and just missed the postseason where both Wildcard teams finished 10-6. The team hasn't won more then 4 games since finishing 8-8 in 2029. The roster has talent so it comes down to playcalling and with 9 wins the past 5 seasons, Head coach Daniel Goble is on the hot seat. He signed with Daytona to become their head coach 5 seasons ago based on his 34-18 record as offensive coordinator with Pittsburgh.

WESTPhiladelphia has won 6 of 23 division Titles including 3 straight. They have a 2 game lead with 3 games remaining and they need either 2 wins or 2 loses by Providence. They play Providence in week 15 so a win versus them would seal the deal. Their 3 remaining games are all on the road.
Providence has won 3 of 23 division Titles but none in the last 6 seasons. Providence needs to win out including their week 15 rematch with Philadelphia plus have Philadelphia lose 1 of their 2 remaining games to win the division.
Washington won the first 4 division Titles in league history and haven't won one for 19 straight seasons despite making the postseason the past 2 seasons as a wildcard. Washington is still alive for a wildcard spot and needs to win out plus have Vegas & Providence lose 2 games each and have Los Angeles lose a game.
Brooklyn has won 10 of 23 division Titles but none in the last 3 seasons. They are eliminated and will miss the postseason for the 4th straight season which is only topped by their 5 straight seasons missing the postseason in the first 5 seasons of the league. New ownership took over in 2037 and has been in the process of rebuilding ever since.
EASTArizona has won 6 of 24 division Titles including this season. They broke a 14 season playoff drought last season with a wildcard berth and have already clinched their division this season as the team takes another step forward under a 3rd year ownership.
Vegas has won 12 of 24 division Titles after winning none in the first 8 seasons of the league. They have been eliminated from winning the division but still are alive for a wildcard berth where they would be able to defend their back to back League Championships. They control their own destiny and can clinch a playoff spot if they win out their 3 remaining home games versus opponents with a combined record of 25-14.
Los Angeles has won 2 of 24 division Titles with the last coming in 2037. They are still alive for a wildcard spot but need to win out versus opponents with a combined record of 27-12 plus have Providence lose a game.
Seattle has won 4 of 24 division Titles but haven't made the postseason for 10 straight seasons. New ownership came aboard 3 seasons ago and began the process of rebuilding the roster. 46 of the 52 man roster has 7 years of experience or less plus they have 28 draft picks over the next 3 seasons including 4 1st rounders and 5 2nd rounders.
NORTHGem City has won 8 of 23 division Titles including 3 straight. They control their own destiny this season and with 2 more wins to include the week 15 rematch with Montana and they secure the division crown.
Montana has never won the division in the league's 23 year history. In fact, they didn't make the playoffs for the first 17 seasons of the league. Since, they have made 4 postseason in the last 6 seasons and are looking for thier 1st division Title. Despite trailing Gem City by 1 game, Montana stills controls their own destiny and wins the division by winning their last 3 games.
Zehlendorf has won 4 division Titles after missing the postseason during the first 12 seasons of the league. It's been 5 straight years including this season where they will miss the postseason.
Saint Paul won the division 11 of 23 seasons but has missed the postseason for 3 straight seasons including this season. This is the 4th season under new ownership and the team is under a definate rebuild in hopes they return to their glory years from 2035-2037 they won 3 straight conference Titles.
SOUTHMemphis won 1 division Title, way back in 2024 and they are on the verge of winning their 2nd this season. They have already clinched their 1st postseason in the past 14 seasons with a chance to win their 1st division crown in 19 seasons. They play Atlanta tonight and a win will clinch them the division.
Atlanta has won 9 out of 23 division Titles including last season where they ended an 11 season playoff drought. The team is looking to return to its glory years from 2019-2028 where they made the postseason 9 straight seasons and won 3 Conference Championships and 2 League Championships. Atlanta needs to win out including tonight's rematch with Memphis to win the division.
Carolina has won 10 of 23 division Titles but has missed the postseason 4 of the past 5 seasons imcluding this season after a run of 9 straight division crowns from 2029-2036. They had finished at least 8-8 in 15 of the last 16 seasons before stumbling to a losing record this season.
Tampa Bay has won 3 out of 23 division Titles all within the last 4 seasons before having a setback this season. The re-emergence of Atlanta and Memphis has set Tampa Bay back a step just when it looked like they would take over the division in recent years.
