Week 3

Three games into the season and we have 8 undefeated teams remaining. Below is a quick look at all 8 teams!

INDIANA FOG

They won a low scoring game against division rival Vancouver 9-3 at home to take a commanding 2 game lead early.

You have to go back to 2033 for the last time this francise started a season 3-0 but that team finished 9-7 and missed the playoffs.

Off-season predictions had this team finishing 8-8 and possibly competing for the division Title in a weaker division and they have put them themselves in the position to exceed those expectations.

The team has been led by their defense and WLB Bowman has been the catalyst with his 18 tackles, 4 knockdowns & 2 interceptions which all lead the team.

BUFFALO SKULL CRUSHERS

They have won back to back division games including a 64-13 Massacre of Miami at home in week 3 to take a commanding 2 game lead early in the season.

Off-season predictions had this team finishing 14-2, winning the division and securing the bye. This is the 5th straight season this francise has started the season 3-0.

The team has been led by their #1 ranked offense and #2 ranked passing offense. 2× former ALLPRO & MVP QB Ricardo Dodds has bounced back this season after an awful statistical season last season and he is 2nd in the league in passing yards, 4th in passing TDs & 4th in QBR.

HOUSTON ROUGHNECKS

They traveled to division rival Cincinnati and won a low scoring affair 13-6 to put themselves atop the division by 1 game. You have to go back to 2034 for the last time this francise started 3-0 and that team started 4-0 before finishing that season 10-6 and winning the division.

Off-season predictions had this team finishing 11-5 and competing for the division crown in one of the toughest divisions in the XFL.

The team has been led by its #4 ranked defense including its #4 ranked rush defense. The defense has been spearheaded by WLB Andre Wade who leads the team in tackles with 24 plus RDE Peter Grant who is tied for the league lead with 6 sacks.

DAKOTA BLIZZARD

The team hosted Kansas City and won by 11 points to start the season 3-0 for the 4th straight season. They currently hold a 1 game lead over 2 teams but have back to back games up next against fellow undefeated teams & division leaders in Arizona & Houston.

Off-season predictions had this team finishing 12-4 and winning their division for the 10th straight season.

The team has been led by their 6th ranked offense including their 4th ranked passing offense. Former ALLPRO & MVP QB Robert Alvarez is 4th in the league in passing yards thanks mainly to 2× former ALLPRO WR Gary Hunt who is 2nd in the league in receiving yards and 3rd in receptions. Hunt was acquired via trade with Cincinnati in the off-season and has immediately paid dividends.

PROVIDENCE ISLANDERS

This team has had one of the most dominating starts of any team in the league with all 3 wins coming by at least 22 points including a 38-3 destruction of division rival Brooklyn on the road in week 3. They are in the only division with another undefeated team in Philadelphia and the week 7 matchup between these teams has been highlighted by both teams. You have to go back to 2033 for the last time this francise started a season 3-0 and they have never started a season 4-0 with a chance to accomplish that in week 4 when they host division rival Washington who is 0-3.

Off-season predictions had this team finishing 10-6 and coming behind Philadelphia for the division Title but all the evidence so far looks like they may exceed those expectations.

The team has improved everywhere from last season where they were 13th & 12th on offense & defense last season, they currently rank 5th & 6th this season. The major improvement has been their pass defense which ranked 24th last season and has improved to 10th this season. QB Brandon Williams has been nearly perfect this season with a TD/INT ratio of 10/1 and a league leading QBR of 124.49.

PHILADELPHIA SLAYERS

The team has started 3-0 for the 1st time since 2040 when the team went 16-0 in the regular season. They have won back to back tight games versus serious playoff contenders when they defeated Gem City in week 2, 29-23 in overtime then beat Toronto on the road 16-10. They travel to Cincinnati in week 4 but it's tge week 5 matchup with Memphis that has everyone's attention.

Off-season predictions had this team finishing 12-4 and winning the division for the 5th straight season but they are in the only division with another undefeated team in Providence and the week 7 matchup between these teams has been highlighted by both teams.

This team has been led by their rushing offense which has been ranked on the top 5 for the last 4 seasons and they rank #2 this season. WR/HB Claurence Goins leads the way with his 306 yards rushing (2nd League) including a ridiculous 7.3 yards per rush average.

ARIZONA WRANGLERS

You have to go back to 2027 for the last time this francise started 3-0 and that team started 4-0 before fell apart down the stretch and finished 7-9. Arizona fans prefer the only other time they started 3-0, 2025 where they finished 14-2 and won the XFL Title. Week 4 has a key intra-conference matchup between 2 unbeaten when Arizona host Dakota.

Off-season predictions had this team finishing 13-3 and winning the division. A win versus their main division rival Vegas in week 2 lends credence to this prediction.

They currently have the #2 offense & defense in the league. QB Gary Fielding leads the offense where he is 3rd in passing yards (817) & tied for 1st with 10 TD passes. The irony is the week 4 matchup between Arizona & Dakota will feature 2 QBs drafted by Dakota in the same draft, Fielding (2038 2.32) and Robert Alvarez (2038 1.32).

MEMPHIS MANIACS

Memphis has started the season 3-0 in dominating fashion winning the past 2 games by at least 33 points including a 43-9 dismantling of New England in week 3. You have to go back to 2027 for the last time this francise started 3-0 and that team finished 12-4 and made the postseason as a Wildcard team. Memphis hosts Brooklyn (1-2) in week 4 but weeks 5 & 6 feature matchups with currently undefeated teams, Philadelphia & Providence.

Off-season predictions had this team finishing 13-3 and battling Atlanta right down to the wire for division supremacy. The week 1 victory versus Atlanta gives them the early advantage with round 2 coming in week 16.

The team is led by its #1 passing attack which is run by the reigning ALLPRO & MVP QB Alvin Johnson who currently leads the league in passing yards and is 2nd in passing TDs with 964 yards and 9 TD passes. ALLPRO WR James Fain is only in his 2nd season but he is 3rd in the league with 340 yards receiving, tied for 1st with 4 TD receptions and 2nd in receptions with 21 as he attempts to repeat as the WR triple crown winner.

Week 4

We have reached the quarter pole in the 25th season of the XFL. Let's take a look at each division and where all the teams stand currently.

AXC

WEST

The Indiana Fog (3-1) lead the division despite losing in week 4 to the upstart Daytona Beach Bull Sharks 25-6 at home. They are lead on offense by ALLPRO TE John Lee who is 8th in the league in receiving yards and 9th in receptions. The defense is led by WLB Charles Bowman who leads the team in tackles (30) and has 2 interceptions along with CB Robert Hernandez as both are tied for 8th in the league.

The Vancouver Vandals (2-2) evened their record with a 14-10 win at home over the Michigan Wolverines (2-2). They lost 2 games by 6 points including a 9-3 lose to Indiana in week 3 so the team feels close to taking off. The offense is lead by RB Frank Williams who is 11th in the league in rushing with 326 yards. The defense is being led by RDE Randolph Sailor who has already matched career highs in sacks (7) & hurries (7) and is currently tied for the league lead in sacks & 5th in hurries. CB Frank Moulton is tied for the league lead in interceptions with 4.

The Oakland Outlaws improved to 0-3-1 this week when they managed to tie Montana (0-3-1) 6-6. Oakland has been snake bit so far this season, losing their first 3 games by a combined 8 points! They host Indiana in week 5 and it's a most win game for Oakland if they have any chance to turn this team around. They actually have a higher ranked offense & defense then both Indiana & Vancouver but have no wins to show for it. RB John Love is 2nd in the league in rushing (398) to lead the offense. The defense is led by FS Victor Ware who has 25 tackles (2nd team), 1 sack (3rd team), 5 knockdowns (2nd team) & 2 interceptions (1st team/8th league).

The Kansas City Chaos (0-4) remain winless after a week 4 lose at Buffalo, 33-13. The team won the division last season and have faltered out of the gates based on a 1st place schedule. QB Richard Harris leads the offense and is 6th in passing yards (817) but he only has 2 TD passes to 7 interceptions which is 3rd most in the league. The defense has been led by CB Rafael Trask who leads the team in knockdowns (9) and is 2nd in interceptions (1).

EAST

The Buffalo Skull Crushers (4-0) remain undefeated after a point win over KC at home. They have a comfortable 2 game lead in the division and have 2 wins versus division opponents. 2× former league MVP QB Ricardo Dodds has led the league's #1 offense with a bounce back season so far. His 990 yards passing in 3rd in the league and his 6 TD passes rank 4th in the league. The defense has been led by 3× former ALLPRO CB Rick Henry whose 4 interceptions is tied for the league lead. Henry currently sits with 83 career interceptions, 1 behind HOF CB Frank Hamel for the most in XFL history.

The New England Crusaders (2-2) evened their record with a 22-7 win at home over the Texas Hold'em. The team has finished at or near .500 for 4 straight seasons and need to improve on that if they want to make the postseason. The offense has been carried by a rushing attack which ranks 9th in the league which includes RB Claude Crawford (260 yards) & QB Carlos Shor (197 yards). Shor is the 3rd string quarterback who is used as more of a slash type back. The defense is led by CB Jon Wright who has 21 tackles (4th team), 10 knockdowns (1st team/2nd league) & 3 interceptions (1st team/3rd league).

The New York Empire (0-4) remain winless after a 23-6 lose on the road at Carolina (2-2). The slow start isn't a surprise for a team that traded its top offensive playmaker WR Mario Peacock and allowed 4× ALLPRO MLB Morgan Elliott to walk via free agency. The offense ranks 32nd in the league and hasn't score a touchdown this season and has only scored 12 points in 4 games. TE Steve Finch is the only player with over 100 yards from scrimmage with his 113 yards receiving. The defense has been led by CB George Gauthier whose 34 tackles leads the team and ranks 10th most in the league.

The Miami Nemisis (0-4) remain winless after their 3rd straight road lose to Houston, 48-6. Their schedule has been brutal to start the season including road games with Atlanta (defending Champs), Buffalo (perennial contender) and Houston (2041 Division champ). In week 5, they host Buffalo before the schedule starts to become more forgiving. The question will be can this team survive its brutal start to make a late run? The offense ranks 30th in the league and TE Jeffrey Johnson leads the team in receptions (17), receiving yards (173) and TD receptions (1). The defense has been led by FS Thomas Haney who leads the team in tackles (35) & is 2nd on the team in knockdowns (5).

NORTH

The Houston Roughnecks (4-0) remain undefeated after destroying Miami at home 48-6. They have a 1½ game cushion with 5 more division games remaining. They are 1 of 8 teams with a top 10 offense & defense. The offense is led by former ALLPRO RB Edward Johnson who is 5th in the league in rushing with 367 yards. The defense has been led by RDE Peter Grant who is 3rd in the league with 6 sacks and 4th in the league with 8 hurries. Grant is well on his way to a 5th straight season with double digit sacks.

The Toronto Titans (2-1-1) had trouble with the 2 Pennsylvania teams as they lost to Philadelphia (3-1) in week 3 before ending in a tie in week 4 with Pittsburgh (2-1-1). The offense is led by their 7th ranked rush offense behind RB Van Gillespie & RB John Smith who have 252 & 243 yards rushing respectively. The duo rank as the 4th best RB tandem with their 495 combined yards behind Atlanta's Bello & Chappell (832), Vegas's Brown & Clark (644) & Daytona's Pachedo & Colunga (510) where both rushers have at least 200 yards each. The defense is ranked 9th and is led by WLB Alvin Jackson who has 32 tackles to lead the team along with 1 sack, 1 interception & 3 knockdowns.

The Pittsburgh Blitzkrieg (2-1-1) tied Toronto on the road in thier first of 6 division games. They host Cincinnati (1-3) in week 5. They are 1 of 8 teams with a top 10 offense & defense. The offense is led by QB Alan Wyatt whose 819 yards passing is 5th in the league while his 4 TD passes is 8th. The defense is led by LDE William Ray whose 5 sacks leads the team and is 5th in the league. Ray is coming off a 20 sack season in 2041 and is currently on pace to match it.

The Cincinnati Defenders (1-3) got their first win with an impressive game versus Philadelphia (3-1) at home where they won a defensive battle 10-7. They dealt one of their best offensive playmaker (WR Gary Hunt) and the team was expected to struggle in their attempt to reload in the toughest division in the XFL. The offense has struggled this season as they have used 3 different QBs in the first 4 games. RB John Pine has been the one constant with his 288 yards rushing which leads the team and ranks 16th in the league & 6th in the AXC. Former ALLPRO MLB Daniel Gregory has led the defense with his 24 tackles (1st team), 1 knockdown & 1 interception (1st team).

SOUTH

The Dakota Blizzard (3-1) lost their first game when they traveled to Arizona and lost 26-8 on the road. They enter the season looking for their 10th straight division Title but currently they are tied with Daytona (3-1) and Michigan trails by just 1 game. The offense is ranked 10th in the league and 2× former ALLPRO WR Gray Hunt is pacing that offense with 25 receptions (2nd league), 393 yards receiving (3rd league) & 2 TD receptions (7th league). MLB Paul Graham leads the defense with 36 tackles (6th league) & 8 knockdowns (8th league). LDE Damon Todd has 5 sacks which leads the team and is 5th in the league but more importantly, it's gives him 120 Alltime which is the most in XFL history, 4 more then teammate RDE William Strong who has 2 this season & 116 for his career.

The Daytona Beach Bull Sharks (3-1) went to Indiana and won on the road 25-6. It's only the 3rd time in 25 seasons, the team has started 3-1 and they can match their best start in francise history (2019 4-1) next week when they host Michigan to play them for the 2nd time this season. They lost their first matchup in week 3 on the road 20-14. The offense is led by their rushing attack which features RB Christpher Pachedo & rookie RB Robert Colunga who have 266 & 244 yards rushing respectively. The duo rank as the 3rd best RB tandem with their 510 combined yards behind Atlanta's Bello & Chappell (832) & Vegas's Brown & Clark (644) where both rushers have at least 200 yards each. The defense is led by WLB Bruce Carrier who leads the team in tackles (22) & interceptions (2).

The Michigan Wolverines (2-2) lost to Vancouver 14-10 on the road. They find themselves 1 game behind both Dakota & Daytona despite a week 3 win versus Daytona who they meet again in week 5. Statistically, the team ranks 11th on offense and 13th on defense so the slow start may be an aberration. The offense has been spearheaded by RB Robert Davis who has 304 yards rushing & 110 yards receiving. The defense has been led by MLB Ricard Collins who leads the team in tackles (31) & interceptions (3) plus has 2 sacks & 2 knockdowns.

The Texas Hold'em (1-3) lost in New England 22-7 after getting their first win the previous week. For 16 straight seasons, they have never finished worse then 7-9 in a season and they have only finished in last place in their division twice (2018/2019) but they are in danger of both this season. The offense has been led by RB Rodney McLamb who leads the team in rushing with 217 yards. The defense has been led by WLB Timothy Smith who has 39 tackles (1st team/2nd league), 2 sacks & 3 knockdowns.

Week 4

NXC

EAST

The Providence Islanders (4-0) remain undefeated and improve to 2-0 in their division with a 32-0 shutout of division rival Washington (0-4) at home. They have won all 4 games by an average of 30 points and they are 1 of just 3 teams to have a top 5 offense & defense. QB Brandon Williams leads the offense for his 2nd season as starter and his 12 TD passes through 4 games nearly matches his total from last season (15) and currently leads the league. Williams is also 7th in passing yards (798) and his 117.45 QBR leads the league. The defense has been sparked by free agent acquisition LDE Earnest Johnson who has already set a career high with 4 sacks to lead the team.

The Philadelphia Slayers (3-1) lost their first game when they traveled to Cincinnati (1-3) and lost 10-7 on the road in a non-conference game. They have won 4 straight division Tiltes but find themselves 1 game behind Providence and a week 7 matchup with them on the road fast approaching. They are 1 of 8 teams with a top 10 offense & defense. The offense has been led by WR Clarence Goins who leads the team in rushing (313 yards) plus has 10 receptions for 151 yards (2nd team). He also returns kicks & punts and his 529 Total yards is 5th in the league. The defense has been led by 4× ALLPRO MLB Morgan Elliott who signed a 2 year contract just before the preseason began. He has 15 tackles (5th team), 2 knockdowns (4th team) and 2 interceptions (1st team).

The Brooklyn Hitmen (1-3) lost their 2nd straight game when they traveled to Memphis (4-0) and lost 28-6 on the road. Off-season expectations were dire and they have already won as many games as the experts predicted. The offense has been anemic and QB Lee Huber is averaging 115 yards passing per game and his TD/INT ratio is 0/4. The 32nd ranked defense does have CB Morgan Spangler who leads the team & league with 41 tackles. He is well on his way to a 6th straight 100 tackles season.

The Washington Warriors (0-4) remain winless after they got shutout in Providence and lost 32-0 versus their division rival. They are one of the more disappointing teams as experts believed they would win double digit games and challenge Philadelphia for the division title this season. The offense is ranked 31st in the league and QB Daniel Stroud who is in his 3rd season as starter seems to be regressing. Stroud is averaging under 100 yards passing per game and has zero touchdowns or interceptions. Former ALLPRO RB Brandon Stone is in his 4th season, holds the single season rushing record and has 3 straight 1,000 yard rushing seasons but with the passing game almost nonexistent, defenses are stacking the box and limiting him to just 2.8 yards per carry. CB Danny Sanchez leads the defense with 32 tackles (1st team) & 10 knockdowns (1st team/2nd league).

WEST

The Arizona Wranglers (4-0) remain undefeated after hosting Dakota (3-1) and beating them 26-8. They won their division last season and made the postseason two straight seasons in what most experts believe to be just the start for this team. Their schedule through week 10 is favorable with only Daytona (3-1) in week 6 having a winning record before the schedule becomes more challenging down the stretch where 4 of 6 opponents have a winning record. They are 1 of 3 teams with a top 5 offense & defense including the #1 defense. Rookie WR Son Johnson paces the offense with 381 yards rushing (1st team/4th league) plus 19 receptions (1st team) and 116 yards receiving (5th team). QB Gary Fielding has 1,016 yards passing (2nd league), 10 TD passes (3rd league) and 7 interceptions (3rd league). The defense has been led by WLB Ray Vickers who leads the team with 37 tackles, has 4 knockdowns & 1 interception.

The Vegas Black Aces (3-1) hosted division rival Los Angeles (1-3) and served up a 50 burger, winning 53-3. Vegas has made the postseason 9 straight seasons and won the division in 7 of the past 9 seasons but Arizona has arrived the past few seasons to challenge them for division supremacy. They are 1 of 3 teams with a top 5 offense & defense after stumbling last season with a 12th ranked offense & 25th ranked defense. The offense is being carried, literally but the 2nd ranked rushing attack where WR Bryan Brown & WR Scott Clark have 333 & 311 yards rushing respectively. The duo is ranked as the #2 RB combo behind only Atlanta's tandem RB Bello & Chappell. The defense is led by WLB Jordan Richardson who has 24 tackles (2nd team), 3 knockdowns (3rd team) and 2 interceptions (2nd team).

The Seattle Barbarians (2-2) evened their record with a road win, 24-21 against Saint Paul (0-4). This team was a mystery entering the season based on how young the roster currently is and they have shown flashes this season of how talented they could become. QB Michael Keeler is in his 3rd season as starter and has shown signs that he is taking the next step as he is just outside the top 10 in passing yards (735). The defense has been led by former ALLPRO MLB Anton Dupree who leads the team in tackles (28).

The Los Angeles Challengers (1-3) traveled to Vegas (3-1) and got destroyed 53-3 on the road. The schedule doesn't get any easier as their next 3 games are against Arizona (4-0), Vegas (3-1) & Dakota (3-1) which were all playoff teams last season and projected to make the postseason this season. The #26 offense has RB Raymond Yee leading the way with 237 yards rushing but a serious knee injury will sideline him for the immediate future. The #30 ranked defense features 3rd year RDE Francis Reichenbach who has 5 sacks which ties him for 5th in the league.

NORTH

The Gem City Gangsters (3-1) have won back to back division games at home where they defeated Saint Paul (0-4) 23-11 in week 3 then defeated Zehlendorf (2-2) 24-6 in week 4 to take command of the division. Experts predicted they would win tge North and so far, so good. RB Bradley Pickett has led the offense with 339 yards rushing (6th league) plus 105 yards receiving. Pickett has rushed for at least 1,000 yards for 4 straight seasons and 6 of the last 7 seasons. The defense has been led by CB Carl Price who has 22 tackles (1st team), 7 knockdowns (1st team) and has a 16.7 catch allowed percentage on 18 passes defended (3rd team).

The Zehlendorf Zecken (2-2) have lost back to back road games after starting the season 2-0. They have 7 home games remaining and 8 games versus teams currently with a losing record. The offense is ranked 22nd and QB Anthony Henderson has struggled in his 7th season as starter. He has been sacked 15 times in 4 games and is on pace to shatter his personal record of times sacked in a season (46). The defense is ranked 10th including the 4th ranked pass defense. MLB Elmer Severs has led the way with 38 tackles (1st team/4th league) & 4 knockdowns (1st team).

The Montana Grizzlies (0-3-1) managed to not lose this week when they tied fellow winless team Oakland (0-3-1) 6-6 at home. Expectations were relatively high for the team coming into the season but 2 close loses and a tie have put them behind the eight ball. It doesn't get easier as they travel to Gem City in week 5 which becomes a must win game for the team. QB Larry Scruggs is a 2nd year player who is starting for his first season since being drafted in the 4th round in 2041. He has been a bright spot thus season with his 785 yards passing ranking him 9th in the league. SS Ted Kennedy is related to JFK, RFK & Senator Ted Kennedy and he leads the team in tackles (34).

The Saint Paul Punishers (0-4) remain winless as they lose a close game at home to Seattle (2-2) 24-21. The off-season had more questions then answers and predictions put them at 3-13 which may have been optimistic at this point. The offense is ranked 25th but RB Steven Super has been a bright spot with 309 yards rushing which ranks him 14th in the league & 10th in the NXC. The defense ranks 26th but CB Ralph Messer has been a bright spot with 25 tackles (2nd team) & 11 knockdowns (1st league).

SOUTH

The Memphis Maniacs (4-0) remain undefeated after a 28-6 win over Brooklyn at home in week 4. They are 1 of 8 teams with a top 10 offense & defense. The offense is ranked #2 overall including the #1 pass offense which is led by reigning MVP & ALLPRO QB Alvin Johnson who leads the league with 1,204 yards passing and is 2nd in the league with 11 TD passes. 2nd year WR James Fain win the receiving triple crown last season and currently ranks #1 in receptions (28) & TD receptions (5) while ranking #2 in receiving yards (411). The defense is led by ALLPRO CB William Sapp who has 20 tackles (1st team) & 3 interceptions (1st team/3rd League).

The Atlanta Dominators (3-1) have won 3 in a row and 2 straight division games after beating Tampa Bay (1-3) 37-8 at home. They are the defending Champs and are 1 of 8 teams with a top 10 offense & defense. They have the #1 rushing attack which is led by ALLPRO RB Bello & RB Chappell who have 440 & 392 yards rushing respectively. Bello currently leads the league in rushing while Chappell is 3rd in the league. The #6 defense is led by bookend pass rushers LDE Joseph Fetter & LDE Oren Bearce who have 7 & 5 sacks respectively. Fetter leads the league and Bearce is 5th in the league in sacks.

The Carolina Cobras (2-2) evened their record with a 23-6 win versus New York at home in week 4. Experts saw a rebuild coming with this francise and predicted a dismal 2-14 record and to the teams credit, they have already matched that win total. RB Edgardo Murray has been the catalyst for the offense with 241 yards rushing & 178 yards receiving which both lead the team. MLB Marvin Norwood has led the defense with 39 tackles which is 2nd in the league.

The Tampa Bay Fireballs (1-3) fell below .500 with their 2nd lose in the division when they went to Atlanta and got boat raced 37-8 on the road. Expectations were their defense was good enough to win but they needed more offense and to stop turning the ball over. Not only has the offense continued to struggle but the defense is currently ranked 29th in the league. They are getting nothing from QB Douglas Brock who is averaging under 110 yards per game and has zero TD passes while he has thrown 5 picks. Former ALLPRO RDE Shelby Harris has been a bright spot on defense with 11 tackles, 4 sacks & 2 hurries.

2038 DRAFT GRADES

Another season and another year of draft grades. We do this grade after 5 seasons and the rookie contracts ha e expired. The grades focus on how many draft picks sign 2nd contracts as part of all the draft picks.
