Absurd. I know I had an offer. I wonder how many others did. This is kind of why I don't like the rule where we can't offer more than base (not unlike the ridiculous NBA lottery). For those at the bottom with more cash to spend; kind of puts them at a disadvantage. If teams with weak rosters want to spend max on an elite WR, they should be allowed to do so.

If you view the player profile and transactions you can see the offers rejected. I think he has three Max offers total but like eight or more offers.

56mil at 4 years was a long shot for this talent.

Wow never knew that. I guess I’m still confused what we’re allowed to offer.

"No changing of the base salary is permitted" as per CJ. My interpretation of this is that the base salary can't change but the bonus can. Now I am completely confused.

2 rights, a 6 and submit offer gets you a max.

In one way I like this more, the supermax takes effort.

Super max is super slippery. If you miss on FA now just imagine me backloading a contract with huge salary that you will never understand.

My assumption of CJ's rules is that no supermax contracts are NOT allowed...

"As we hit free agency, a friendly reminder that we have a rule against making super max contracts! For those of you who don't know what that means, this is the max contract allowed."

What Smirt described is the max contract

So...we are allowed to offer more than base, then? We are allowed to offer max contracts? I guess I saw no distinction between max and supermax.

This explains why I've been unable to sign free agents...

When CJ says you can't change the base salary, he means you can't change the base salaries of the max contract each year (it has to be laid out exactly how he has it in his screenshot).

When you do that for future years, that's when you can offer more than a max contract

Huh, well that's a good explanation. I've never really understood it. Roster management is easily my least favorite aspect of MFN; unfortunately, it's probably the most important.
