With 5 games remaining, things have started to heat up in the race for the postseason. 13 of the 16 teams are alive & within 3 games of making the postseason thanks in part to Buffalo who leads their division despite being 4-7. That means the entire AXC East is alive to claim the division Title including New York who currently sits at 1-10.

If you remove the AXC East, that leaves 8 teams fighting for the other 6 playoff spots. Nobody has clinched at this time but Pittsburgh, Orlando & Houston are on the verge.

Buffalo has won 20 of the last 21 division Titles in the East because they have won at least 11 games in 24 straight seasons. 25 years ago, they went 8-8 which was their worst record in francise history so they are in danger of not only finishing under .500 for the first time but they are also in danger of missing the postseason for the first time since 2019.

Things really get interesting these final 5 games as Buffalo & Miami play twice so in essence Miami wins the division if they win out. Miami was the last team besides Buffalo to win the division, way back in 2033. What makes things even more interesting is that New England plays 5 teams with losing records down the stretch including Buffalo in week 16 so they a legitimate shot to steal the division with a solid finish. New England has never won the division while New York hasnt won a Division Title since going back tO back in 2018 & 2019. Buffalo needs to win 4 of their last 5 games to finish .500 and cement another division Title.

Zehlendorf reclaimed the lead in the North with a week 14 win over Saint Paul 21-12. Gem City fell 1 game behind after losing to Providence 24-12 on the road. Montana was officially elimated when they lost to Philadelphia 35-23 in week 14.

Zehlendorf plays Houston in week 15 and can clinch the division with a win plus a Gem City lose to Philadelphia.

If both Zehlendorf & Gem City win or both lose in week 15, it sets up a week 16 head to head rematch with the winner clinching the North. The only scenario where the week 16 game is meaningless is if Zehlendorf wins and Gem City loses in week 15.

This Conference has 6 of the 7 playoff spots filled but seeding is still very much in question.

Atlanta & Arizona have each won their division and enter 16 week tied for the bye. Atlanta beat Arizona earlier in the season so if they beat Orlando on the road, they lock up the bye. If Atlanta stumbles, Arizona can secure the bye with a win over Los Angeles on the road. In the event both teams lose then Atlanta retains the bye.

Brooklyn & Providence are both in the postseason but enter week 16 tied for the East division lead. Brooklyn wins the East with a win over Philadelphia on the road. If Brooklyn loses, Providence wins the division.

Zehlendorf travels to Gem City in week 16 and the winner wins the North Crown while the loser is eliminated.

Memphis locks up the #5 seed with a win over Texas at home in week 16. At worse, they would become the #6 seed if they lost and both Brooklyn & Providence won. Philadelphia is locked into the #7 seed so their week 16 means nothing to them.

Week 16 had a few key games to determine seeding but no game was more significant then Zehlendorf @ Gem City where the winner would claim the NXC NORTH.

Gem City made headlines in the off-season when they traded QB Tom Crawford to LA for a 2nd round pick then signed QB Michael Keeler to a huge free agent contract.

Crawford helped LA finish 9-7 and they faded down the stretch when the schedule turned into a meat grinder.

Keeler had his best season as a starter but Gem City's offense became ultra conservative after starting the season 2-8 before going 4-2 down the stretch including a season sweep of Zehlendorf.

The Zecken faded down the stretch, losing 5 of their last 6 including the 2 loses to Gem City which cost them their first postseason appearance since 2036.

The XFL sends 18 of the past 26 League Champions to the postseason.

AXC

The AXC sends 6 of the 7 teams who went to the postseason last season, back to the postseason. Only Oakland who went as a Wildcard last season didn't make it and was replaced by Toronto. Toronto had made the postseason for 6 straight seasons before falling short last season but it was just a 1 season blip as they return this season.
