2044 PLAYOFF PICTURE (Week 11)AXCWith 5 games remaining, things have started to heat up in the race for the postseason. 13 of the 16 teams are alive & within 3 games of making the postseason thanks in part to Buffalo who leads their division despite being 4-7. That means the entire AXC East is alive to claim the division Title including New York who currently sits at 1-10.
If you remove the AXC East, that leaves 8 teams fighting for the other 6 playoff spots. Nobody has clinched at this time but Pittsburgh, Orlando & Houston are on the verge.

WESTVancouver Vandals 8-3 (4-1/5-3)
Kansas City Monarchs 6-5 (2-2/5-4)
The West is a 2 team race with Vancouver leading KC by 2 games. The 2 teams play in week 16 so KC just needs to gain 1 game in the next 4 weeks to make it interesting. Both teams have some tough games remaining on the schedule but Vancouver's schedule is clearly harder down the stretch. Vancouver is looking to win their 3rd straight Division Title while KC was the last team to win a division Title besides Vancouver in 2040.

Miami Nemesis 3-8 (1-1/3-5)
New England 2-9 (0-2/1-6)
New York 1-10 (1-2/1-7)
Buffalo leads the Division by 1 game over Miami, 2 games over New England and 3 games over New York. Buffalo has won 20 of the last 21 division Titles in the East because they have won at least 11 games in 24 straight seasons. 25 years ago, they went 8-8 which was their worst record in francise history so they are in danger of not only finishing under .500 for the first time but they are also in danger of missing the postseason for the first time since 2019.
Things really get interesting these final 5 games as Buffalo & Miami play twice so in essence Miami wins the division if they win out. Miami was the last team besides Buffalo to win the division, way back in 2033. What makes things even more interesting is that New England plays 5 teams with losing records down the stretch including Buffalo in week 16 so they a legitimate shot to steal the division with a solid finish. New England has never won the division while New York hasnt won a Division Title since going back tO back in 2018 & 2019. Buffalo needs to win 4 of their last 5 games to finish .500 and cement another division Title.

Pittsburgh currently holds a 1 game lead over Houston and 2 game lead over Toronto. Pittsburgh & Houston still play twice while Pittsburgh split with Toronto and Houston swept Toronto. Pittsburgh is looking for back to back division Titles after a 11 year draught. Houston is trying to reclaim the division after being a Wildcard last season before winning the previous 2 division Titles. Toronto hasn't won the division Title since 2040 but they don't have any games left with Pittsburgh or Houston after going 1-3 versus them both this season.

Texas Hold'em 7-4 (2-2/5-3)
Orlando leads Dakota by 1 game and Texas by 2 games. Orlando is undefeated within the division including a win over Dakota plus they swept Texas. Orlando is looking to win their 2nd straight division Title. Dakota had won 10 straight division Titles before falling short last season. They lost to both Texas & Orlando this season with games versus all 3 division opponents remaining. Texas hasn't won the division since 2032 and they were swept by Orlando but have wins versus Dakota & Daytona under their belts with a game left versus each down the stretch. The next 2 weeks will be huge as Dakota plays Texas then Orlando so we will know much more after these pivotal matchups.

NXCAll 16 teams are still alive to make the postseason including Saint Paul (1-10) who sits 4 games back in their division with 5 games remaining. Even if we remove the NXC NORTH crown from the postseason, it still leaves 15 teams fighting for the remaining 6 playoff spots. While nobody has clinched or been eliminated, starting next week that will change with several teams on the verge for both scenarios.

Arizona has a commanding 3 game lead with just 5 games remaining but surging Los Angeles still has 2 games versus Arizona which make things interesting if they manage to sweep Arizona. Arizona is looking to make it 4 straight division Titles and they finish the season with 5 straight division games. Los Angeles hasn't won the division since 2037 but after a game versus 1-10 New York in week 12, they have 4 straight games versus teams currently 9-2 or better!

Brooklyn holds a 1 game lead over Providence with Philadelphia sitting 3 games behind with 5 games remaining. Brooklyn has gone 4-0 in division and has road rematches with Providence & Philadelphia in the final 2 weeks of the season. Brooklyn hasn't made the postseason since 2037 which ended a 3 year run as division Champs. Providence is 3-2 in division with just the rematch with Brooklyn remaining. Based on division records, Providence needs to finish with a better record then Brooklyn to win the Division. It's been 10 seasons since Providence won their division despite having made the postseason 3 straight seasons. Philadelphia is also 3-2 in division with just the rematch with Brooklyn remaining. Based on division records, Philadelphia needs to finish with a better record then Brooklyn to win the Division. Philadelphia has won this division for 6 straight seasons, ever since the current owner Waitwut took over in 2038.

Saint Paul Punishers 1-10 (1-3/1-7)
Zehlendorf leads Montana by 1 game, Gem City by 2 games and Saint Paul by 4 games. Zehlendorf swept Montana but has 2 games left versus Gem City which will be pivotal in determining who claims the North. Zehlendorf hasn't won the division in a dozen years and haven't made the postseason in 7 straight seasons. Montana swept Gem City but got swept by Zehlendorf with just 1 division game left. They play their final 4 games on the road and 4 of the 5 remaining games are versus potential playoff teams. Montana has never won the North and has just 4 postseason appearances in 26 seasons with the last coming in 2040. Gem City has won the North for 6 straight seasons. Despite underperforming thus far, they still have a shot since they play Zehlendorf twice in their final 5 games. To complicate matters, they were swept by Montana who sits 1 game ahead of them and is between Gem City and Zehlendorf. Saint Paul is mathematically alive to win the North but they need to win out and get a bunch of help.

Atlanta holds a 2 game lead over Memphis plus they swept the season series versus Memphis which essentially makes the lead 3 games. Atlanta clinches the South with 3 more wins and they will be heavy favorites in the next 3 games versus teams with losing records. Atlanta is the 3× defending XFL Champs and have won the South Division in 3 of the last 4 season. Memphis has been chasing Atlanta for years and this season has been no different. They did win the South in 2042 but it's Atlanta who has won the rings. Memphis not only needs to win out but have Atlanta lose 3 games down the stretch to win the division. To put that in prospective, Philadelphia has gone 43-3 in their last 46 games including the postseason.
