NEWS & NOTES (WEEK 13)

I've started news & notes for the past several weeks and ran out of time to finish before the next game and basically wasted my time. I've been swamped doing taxes for everyone plus handling my mom's estate along with my fulltime job and being a husband & father. I've finally got some free time so let's see if I can actually finish this one!

AXC

All 4 divisions have been clinched in the AXC but 3 Wildcard spots are still up for grabs as 6 teams are battling for the final 3 postseason spots.

■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■
1. Daytona 12-1 (10-0)

For the first time in the 31 year history of the Daytona francise, they have clinched a postseason!!!

Not only are they going to the postseason but they have clinched the AXC South Division for the first division Title in francise history.

There is more!!! Daytona traveled to Cincinnati in week 13 and won 22-18 to move into the #1 Seed as they control the bye with a 1 game lead over both Cincinnati & Vancouver.

Kansas City & Daytona switched owners in the off-season and clearly it has worked for the Bull Sharks.

Daytona can clinch the bye with any combination of 2 more wins or 2 Cincinnati & Vancouver loses.

DAK (8-4)
PIT (6-7)
@MTG (6-7)
■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■
2. Cincinnati 11-2 (9-1)

They have already clinched the AXC North division for the 9th time in francise history.

Week 13 saw Cincinnati host Daytona where they lost 22-18 to lose control of the #1 Seed in the AXC. Cincinnati already has a head to head win over Vancouver so they are in the driver's seat for the #2 Seed.

Cincinnati needs to win out plus have Daytona lose 2 games to clinch the bye. They clinch the #2 Seed by winning out or simply finishing with the same record as Vancouver.

ORG (8-5)
@HOU (8-5)
@SEA (3-10)
■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■
3. Vancouver 11-2 (8-2)

They have already clinched the AXC West for the 10th time in francise history plus they have clinched at least the #3 seed.

They currently sit 1 game behind Daytona for the #1 Seed in the AXC and the Bye. They have the same record as Cincinnati but lost to Cincinnati which further complicates their chances to move up in the seeding.

They can clinch the #2 Seed by winning out plus having Cincinnati lose 1 game plus they can clinch the #1 Seed by winning out, Cincinnati loses 1 game plus Daytona loses 2 games.

MEM (11-2)
@BUF (7-6)
OAK (2-11)
■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■
4. Buffalo 7-6 (7-2)

They have already clinched the AXC East for the 27th time in league history which is the Alltime record.

They have also clinched and are locked into the #4 Seed making their final 3 games meaningless for postseason seeding.

@NEC (2-11)
VAN (11-2)
MIA (3-10)
■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■
5. Houston 8-5 (6-3)

Houston has moved up to the #5 Seed in the AXC and with the AXC North already clinched is the best they can do.

They control their own destiny and clinch the #5 seed if they win out.

They can also clinch the postseason with 2 wins if 2 of these 4 teams lose 1 game: (Indiana, Dakota, Orlando, Kansas City).

@TEX (1-11-1)
CIN (11-2)
NEC (2-11)
■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■
6. Kansas City 8-5 (7-4)

They currently sit as the #6 seed and can't win the AXC West since Vancouver has already clinched.

They control their own destiny and clinch at least the #6 seed if they win out.

They can clinch the postseason with 2 wins including Oakland plus have Orlando & Indiana lose 1 game.

Kansas City & Daytona traded owners in the off-season and Voryzover spent 22 seasons as Daytina's owner before becoming Kansas City's owner. In those 22 seasons, he never made the postseason and has already matched his highest win total with Daytona (8) in his first season as owner of KC.

With Daytona already clinching the postseason and KC currently holding a postseason spot, the owner trade looks like a win-win for both francises.

OAK (2-11)
@CAR (2-11)
ATL (9-4)
■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■
7. Dakota 8-5 (5-5)

They started out 0-4 before winning 8 of their last 9 games and have moved up to the #7 seed.

They control their own destiny and clinch at least the #7 seed if they win out.

They can also clinch the postseason with 2 wins plus have Indiana & Kansas City lose 1 game.

@DAY (12-1)
TEX (1-11-1)
@GCG (9-4)
■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■
8. Orlando 8-5 (5-5)

They currently are on the outside looking into the postseason but have the same record as Kansas City, Houston & Dakota who hold the 3 Wildcard spots.

They need to win out plus have 1 of 3 teams lose 1 game to clinch a postseason spot: (Kansas City, Houston, Dakota).

They can make the postseason with 2 wins but would need Indiana to lose 1 game and 1 of 3 teams lose 2 games: (Kansas City, Houston, Dakota).

@CIN (11-2)
SPP (2-11)
@NYE (4-9)
■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■
9. Indiana 7-6 (6-3)

They currently are the #9 seed and sit 1 game behind 4 teams: (Kansas City, Houston, Dakota, Orlando).

They need to win out plus have 2 of 4 teams lose 1 game: (Kansas City, Houston, Dakota, Orlando) to clinch the postseason.

MIA (3-10)
@OAK (2-11)
@PIT (6-7)
■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■
10. Pittsburgh 6-7 (5-5)

They currently sit as the #10 seed and sit 2 games behind 4 teams: (Kansas City, Houston, Dakota, Orlando) plus 1 game behind Indiana.

They have to win out to have any chance to make the postseason plus they need a ton of help but they play the current #1 Seed in each Conference the next 2 weeks.

PNX (12-1)
@DAY (12-1)
IND (7-6)
■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■
ELIMINATED
■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■
New York 4-9
Miami 3-10
New England 2-11
Oakland 2-11
Toronto 2-11 (0-7)
Texas 1-11-1
■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■

NXC

2 of the 4 divisions in the NXC have been clinched plus 3 teams have clinched playoff spots which leaves 2 open spots with 3 teams battling for those final spots.

■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■
1. Phoenix 12-1 (9-1)

They have already clinched the NXC West for the 14th time in francise history.

They currently sit as the #1 Seed in the NXC and have a 1 game lead over Providence & Memphis for the Bye. They did lost to Providence earlier this season which means they have to win out to clinch the Bye.

@PIT (6-7)
LAC (3-9)
VBA (6-7)
■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■
2. Memphis 11-2 (8-2)

They have a 2 game lead over Atlanta in the NXC South with 3 games remaining plus they won the first of 2 matchups.

They play Atlanta in week 15 but they can clinch the Division even if they lose the rematch if they win their other 2 games.

They visit Vancouver in week 14 and it's an important non-conference showdown since a win means Memphis doesn't have the pressure of a "must win" versus Atlanta in week 15. If they lose to Vancouver in week 14 then the week 15 rematch with Atlanta becomes a "must win" game for the Maniacs.

Memphis needs to win out plus have Phoenix lose 1 game for any chance of securing the bye in the NXC.

@VAN (11-2)
ATL (9-4)
@SPP (2-11)
■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■
3. Providence 11-2 (7-2)

They have a 1 game lead over Philadelphia in the NXC East with 3 games remaining plus they won the first matchup at home with the rematch coming in Philadelphia in week 16.

They do control their own destiny and win the NXC East if they win out plus they would clinch at least the #3 seed.

If they win out plus Phoenix & Memphis lose 1 game each then they clinch the #1 Seed in the NXC.

If they win their next 2 games plus Philadelphia loses 1 of their next 2 games then the week 16 rematch won't matter as Providence would clinch the division.

If they win their next 2 games and Philadelphia wins their next 2 games then the week 16 game will decide the division and it most likely will come down to either common opponents or net points.

BRO (9-4)
@VBA (6-7)
@PHI (10-3)
■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■
4. Gem City 9-4 (7-3)

They have already clinched the NXC North and clinched at least the #4 Seed.

They are pretty much locked into the 4th seed and would need to win out plus have either Memphis or Providence lose 2 of the last 3 games to move up to the #3 seed.

@LAC (3-9)
@TBY (7-6)
DAK (8-5)
■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■
5. Philadelphia 10-3 (7-3)

They are 1 game behind Providence in the NXC East and have already lost to Providence in their first matchup. They need to win out including the week 16 rematch with Providence plus have Providence lose 1 of their other 2 games to win the division.

They have clinched a postseason spot and currently sit as the #5 seed. If they win out then they lock at least the #5 seed.

At worst they will be the #7 seed even if they lose out.

@SEA (3-10)
@NEC (2-11)
PRI (11-2)
■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■
6. Atlanta 9-4 (7-3)

They sit 2 games behind Memphis in the NXC South with 3 games remaining and they lost the first of two games with Memphis.

They need to win out plus have Memphis lose 1 of their other 2 games to force a tie in the division which would be settled by either common opponents or net points.

They currently sit at the #6 seed and need just 1 more win to clinch at least the #7 seed and a postseason spot.

If they lose out and Tampa Bay wins out including their week 14 head to head matchup plus Brooklyn wins at least 1 game then they are eliminated from the postseason.

@TBY (7-6)
@MEM (11-2)
@KCY (8-5)
■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■
7. Brooklyn 9-4 (5-4)

They sit 2 games behind Providence and 1 game behind Philadelphia in the NXC East with 3 games remaining.

They need to win out plus have Providence lose 1 of their other 2 games and have Philadelphia lose 1 game to create a 3 team tie in the NXC East.

There best path to win the East would be to win out plus have Providence lose to Vegas in week 15 then have Providence beat Philadelphia in week 16 which would leave Brooklyn & Providence tied atop the division and both teams would have a 4-2 division record so the tie would be settled by common opponents or net points.

@PRI (11-2)
@WAS (5-8)
ZEZ (2-10-1)
■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■
8. Tampa Bay 7-6 (5-4)

They currently sit on the outside looking into the postseason as the #8 Seed, 2 games behind Atlanta & Brooklyn for 1 of the final 2 postseason spots.

They need to win out including their week 14 game versus Atlanta which would give them a head to head win over both Atlanta & Brooklyn plus they would need either Atlanta to lose 1 of their other 2 games or have Brooklyn lose 2 games to make the postseason.

ATL (9-4)
