BREAKDOWN:Offensively, they lost their 4th leading receiver, a depth RB and 6 OL including 1 starter on the offensive line from last year's #1 offense. They signed 2 RBs, 3 WRs and 5 OL in free agency plus they traded for another WR to replace the loses. They drafted a TE in the 7th round who was cut before TC since Buffalo hasn't kept a draft pick in many years. In fact, Buffalo is the only francise in the XFL with ZERO players on their roster that they originally drafted. Buffalo clearly lacks the patience to draft and develop talent and rely solely on signing seasoned vets and trading for players in their prime or slightly past their prime. The average age of the 53 man roster is 10.53 seasons in the league.
Defensively, they lost 5 DL from last seasons #1 defense. They signed 1 DL and 4 DBs in free agency as they looked to replace the loses. They drafted 2 DL & 1 LB who again were all cut before TC.
PREDICTION: 14-2Buffalo is a perennial playoff contender who plays their own unique brand of football which is very pass heavy and kicking lite. They believe in almost always going for it on 4th down which has led to record breaking passing numbers in the regular season and minimal success in the postseason. Buffalo will win the AXC East. Buffalo will make the playoffs. Buffalo will lead the league in passing but it's what they do in the postseason that really matters at this point. They are 5-9 in the postseason the last 9 seasons which includes 6 years of "1 and done". The question is does their style of play translate to the postseason and so far the answer has been a resounding NO!

BREAKDOWN:Offensively, they lost 3 backup QBs, 1 depth TE, 2 WRs who were 3rd & 4th in receiving and 3 OL including 1 starter from last year's 31st ranked offense. They signed nobody in free agency as they looked to completely rebuild the roster via the draft. They ended up with 11 players on offense from the draft including 1 QB (6th), 4 RBs (2nd/4th/4th/6th), 1 TE (3rd), 2 WRs (5th/5th) and 3 OL (2nd/3rd/5th). They currently have 28 offensive players on the roster who average 2.96 years of experience.
Defensively, they lost 4 DL, 6 LBs & 7 DBs from last year's 32nd ranked defense including the teams leading tackler in WLB Cruz. They signed 2 depth DTs and 1 depth DB in free agency plus they drafted 9 defensive players. They drafted 4 DL (1st/2nd/3rd/3rd), 1 LB (5th) & 4 DBs (1st/4th/5th/5th) including the #1 overall pick in CB Anthony Turner. Turner came to camp late and is already considered one of the potentially biggest draft bust in XFL history. They currently have 25 defensive players on the roster who have a combined average of 3.08 years of experience.
PREDICTION: 3-13 New England is under new ownership and clearly they are looking to completely tear down the roster and rebuild it from the ground up. New England has made the postseason just 3 times in the 33 year history of the francise and they haven't made it the postseason the last 13 seasons. The rebuild will be interesting to watch but after going 1-15 last season and 2-14 the precious season, the only way to go is up!

BREAKDOWN:Offensively, they traded their 2nd leading receiver to division rival Buffalo plus they lost 1 depth WR and 1 starter from the offensive line from last seasons 20th ranked offense. They signed a starting RB, a backup WR and 2 starting OL in free agency to offset the loses since the 5 offensive players they drafted in rounds 3-7 were released before training camp.
Defensively, they lost only 2 depth DBs from last seasons 9th ranked defense. They didn't add anyone in free agency but they drafted 2 DBs in the 1st & 2nd rounds to replace the 2 DBs they lost in the off-season.
PREDICTION: 9-7New York has made the postseason in 4 of the last 5 seasons but you have to question why they would trade a WR to their division rivals Buffalo regardless of the potential return. It's even more concerning since it's the offense where they struggle while Defensively they have a top 10 unit. That defense will keep them in most games and if they find enough offense then they could make it 5 times in the last 6 where they make the postseason. Their biggest hurdle to make the postseason is Buffalo who they are 2-8 against the last 5 seasons which again brings into question why trade them one of your best receivers?

BREAKDOWN:Offensively, they lost all 3 QBs who attempted a pass last season, 3 depth WRs including their 5th leading receiver, a backup TE and 4 starting OL from last year's 30th ranked offense. They signed 11 year veteran QB William Young in free agency plus they drafted QB Kevin Trout in the 1st round. They also signed a FB, 2 RBs, 3 WRs and 4 OL in free agency including WR Frank Skinner from Memphis whose 612 yards receiving and 6TD receptions would have easily led the team last season. Only 1 of the OL signed was a starter last season so they also drafted 4 OL in the 2nd, 3rd, 4th & 7th rounds as they look to completely rebuild the offensive line.
Defensively, they lost 4 DL & 4 DBs from last year's 23rd ranked defense. They added 2 LBs & 6 DBs via free agency as they have looked to increase the defenses overall speed. They also drafted a DE in the 6th round who might make the team as depth after a solid showing in training camp.
PREDICTION: 5-11Miami hasn't made the postseason in 16 straight seasons including 15 losing seasons where they finished 8-8 back in 2037. While the francise has been stuck in a Neverending series of losing seasons in the tough AXC East, the drafting of Kevin Trout in the 1st round is a significant moment in the francise. He represents hope as Miami finally has a QB of the future while also having QB William Young who is a legitimate XFL starter who can mentor the rookie. They went 1-15 last season and this season is all about the development of the young QB but I expect Miami to improve greatly this season as the Trout era begins.
