WEEK 3

After 3 weeks, let's take a look at what we have learned.

AXC
Oakland (3-0) and Dakota (3-0) have picked up right where they left off and lead their divisions. Pittsburgh (2-1) is also once again atop their division but Cincinnati (2-1) is tied with them as they look to have a bounce back season. The biggest surprise is Miami (3-0) who lead the division over Buffalo after a 6-10 season last year. The biggest disappointment is Milwaukee (0-3). The defending Conference Champ is under new ownership and they have stumbled out of the gate.

NXC
Brooklyn (3-0) is the only team leading the division that won it the previous season. Vegas (2-1) is trying to take that next step as defnding XFL Champ Arizona (1-2) has struggled early. The biggest surprise is St. Paul (3-0) who finished under .500 last season and has an early 1 game lead over defending division champ Gem City (2-1). Memphis (3-0) is off to a great start despite turmoil at ownership and a new owner just taking over during the season. They are in a tough division as Atlanta (2-1) sits a game back and is always a perennial contender while Carolina (2-1) seems to have turned the corner under their relatively new owner.

Week 4 key matchups

Buffalo (2-1) @ Texas (2-1)
Oakland (3-0) @ Pittsburgh (2-1)
Atlanta (2-1) @ Brooklyn (3-0)
Providence (2-1) @ St. Paul (3-0)

Good game slick, see you in 6 game sims. I'm hoping by then our offense won't be stuck in neutral.

I'll have to adjust the time I pull starters, since my defense is so, so bad. It's something of a novelty that I can even *have* a lead, so I guess that's progress.

Three tough losses in a row as the Bull Sharks do what they do best, find ways to lose. This defeat showed a lot of promise though, we had to nurse several players through the game, including our best offensive weapon RB Brian Woodward. We dropped in at #4 WR and pretty much took him out of the ground game. He still caught a team high 8/55 and returned a kick for a TD. Not bad for a guy with one good leg.

Talking of one good leg, our Kicker Braswell seemed to be using his good leg to stand on as he missed a FG early and that seemed to effect the HC late in the game, as he chose to go for it on 4th and 2 at the 8 rather than take the FG to close the gap to 7 with 3 minutes remaining. At the time, we had the momentum, the crowd was getting loud and Dakota were a little rattled. I need to have a chat with Coach to see why we didn't take the three and get within 7.

On the whole, a great effort against a side that historically has us blown away by the half.

Good game Dakota, but we have to find ways to turn these good performances into W's
