I understand there's a formula used but its crazy that it dropped us from 2 to 7 after a 24 point win
Well you beat the 32nd ranked team which is only worth 1 point while....
Gem City beat the 20th (13 points)
Denver beat the 4th (29 points)
Dakota beat the 21st (12 points)
Buffalo beat the 15th (18 points)
LA beat the 18th (15 points)
Zecken is clearly #1 at 8-1 and 8 teams are 7-2 so when you look at offensive and defensive rankings
1. Buffalo 4th/1st 61 points
2. Oakland 2nd/9th 55 points
3. LA 5th/7th 54 points
4. Gem City 10th/6th 50 points
5. Dakota 1st/16th 49 points
6. Denver 20th/8th 38 points
7. Texas 6th/25th 35 points
7. Carolina 21st/10th 35 points
Then there is turnover margin
1. Texas +12
2. Denver +7
3. Gem City +5
4. Carolina +5
5. Dakota +3
6. LA -4
7. Oakland -4
8. Buffalo -12
So without opponents factored in
1. Gem City 55 points
2. Dakota 52 points
3. Oakland 51 points
4. LA 50 points
5. Buffalo 49 points
6. Texas 47 points
7. Denver 45 points
8. Carolina 40 points
So of those 8 teams are seperated by 15 points with Texas 6th out of 8 and the strength of victory pushes you further back.
Your turnover margin is great but 25th on defense will hold you back
Actually being ranked #2 last week was the outlier after beating my Dakota team who was ranked 4th.
Your last 6 rankings have been in order
14th, 9th, 6th, 7th, 2nd, 7th
With all that being said, you would have needed to beat at least the 13th ranked team or better to maintain the 2nd ranking but through no fault of your own...got the 32nd team on the schedule.
Besides the Zehlendorf Zecken and Holly who has become the top dog recently.....8 of us are tied at 7-2 and will be jockeying for position between 2-10 plus Providence, Miami, Houston and St. Paul will factor in as they are all 6-3 and right on our heels !
