2036 offseason/draft

Welcome to season 19 of the XFL!!!

Congratulations to Buffalo for another Tilte and also Saint Paul for making the Title game for the first time.

We lost 2 owners during the end of season spin, crazyrazor and setherick. I talked to Seth and he dropped many teams due to work in real life and should return.

As you all should be aware by now, I've added 3 new rules to the existing 3 rules. If not, here is the link:

The offseason is a busy time for me!

I've updated the Alltime playoffs thread which breaks down each teams playoff records, appearances, division titles, Conference Championships and League Championships. It also list every Conference & XFL Championship game.

https://xfl.myfootballnow.com/forums/1/701?page=1#4229

I've updated the Alltime Stats thread which lists single game, single season, career & playoff leaders for everything from passing all the way down to misc leaders plus I've added alltime team stats leaders for every season for rushing, passing & total offense and defense.

https://xfl.myfootballnow.com/forums/1/793?page=1#4906

The ALLPRO/MVP thread has been updated for 2035 where you can see who was the best at each position for every season.

https://xfl.myfootballnow.com/forums/1/749?page=1#4556

I'm currently narrowing down the Hall of Fame ballot for those players who retired after the end of season spin. Once I'm finished finalizing the ballot, our Hall of Fame committee will be electing the players that will be forever enshrined in the Hall of Fame. The Hall of Fame selection committee consists of Smirt, Raidergreg and Trslick and I need a 4th member. I have 2 from the NXC and only 1 from the AXC so if you are in the AXC and would be interested in electing players to the Hall of Fame....PM me!

As usual, I will be doing my annual 1st round draft review. It's become a fun tradition where I break down each 1st round pick and try to have fun with it. I've taking all this 1st round draft reviews and combined them into the Draft History thread which covers every teams 1st round pick since the allocation draft including the trades associated with those 1st round picks. This is a constant/never ending project that I keep working on over and over as with each passing season, new information about those picks comes to light.

Finally, if I have some spare time (LOL) I have a Highlight Reel/XFL films thread where I share some of the biggest plays in XFL history. If you want something to watch for fun, check out this thread.

Good luck to everyone as we begin another season of the XFL. I hope everyone enjoys the new rules as I hope to have more traditional rosters across the league.

Thanks

CJ

I'd take Cruz anyday if it were me. Although he may be a little slow and interception prone he is more of a sure thing as a starter than Rojas. If Rojas booms though?

I know they don't have a lot of choices, but I would suspect neither. Rojas has good attributes, but more volatility that you'd like. Cruz has good volatility, but limited upside. IMO neither one is worthy of the #1 pick.

I believe you're right but what if someone desperately needed a qb? If I had first pick and was in that situation I would surely consider it. That being the case I'd pick Cruz for sure

I agree. Cruz will get pummeled unless you have a terrific offensive line, and the high volatility for Rojas would spook me off. I would be looking elsewhere if I was picking #1.

Plus the line is really sad, and the receivers are really sad. It would make a lot more sense to put the quarterback in a better situation before he takes a big chance like that. A known quantity isn't worth very much if you know it sucks. This is a problem I'd sure like to have, but I'd go in a vastly different direction if I had the #1 pick.

If not a QB then who?

Highest rates lowest vol player for me is the Center....or does he go defense with the best LB in the draft?

If I picked first, I would probably take CB Danny Sanchez or WLB Rex Boudreau unless I really needed a center. Marcello is pretty good but it would be tough for me to take an OL #1.

I would also consider trading down for more picks.
