Gameplanning

I have started dabbling in actually gameplanning for the first time recently. Is there a way to change when I go for a 4th down? Also, It seems like I get sacked quite a bit and I feel like my line is better than they play. Lastly, it seems like I get next to nothing on most runs. I realize why we run to an extent but maybe I should lower the run percentages?

To go for it on 4th down, make a rule. Here is a screenshot of 2 of my rules from a team in another league.

The sacks are probably coming on medium and long passes. The current game version has a sack glitch that won't be there in version 4.5. Basically now your QB will hold the ball too long on most med/long passes without a RB releasing in the flat, and get sacked no matter how normally awesome your OL is.

Lloyd shouldn't have so many carries, he's too slow

So until we update, don't run passes without a check down basically?

For medium and long passes, yes.

About the minimun speed for a RB should be 75. Ideally you want 90+. Its the single biggest attribute for a RB PERIOD.

Run to pass ratio should still be between 30/70 & 40/60 in my opinion. If you dont have a RB with speed, use either a TE or WR that does. Change that players position if you want them to be RB1.

I'm finding players that I like but one or two traits are bad. Are there more skills with cutoffs like the one you mentioned above that makes you feel a player unplayable?

General attributes are important for a variety of positions. Speed is crucial for RB, DB, DE, LB, WR and even TE and FB if you use them in the passing game. Strength is important for OL and DL. Intelligence is important for QB primarily but its important for others as well, DB, MLB and C.

I can find a link to the current player weights for version 4.5 if you want

Player weights recommended for version 4.5

Use at your own discretion

I use this as a frame of reference and make my own weights based on my own thoughts about whats important to each position.

WARNING!!!!

Radically modifying you player weights may completely change how your players are rated which means you might suddenly find that SS you thought was good isnt or that RB you cut was a stud.
