Pittsburgh struck early in the first quarter with a touchdown pass from quarterback Cornelius Camp to running back Seth Kitchens, who made a sharp move to evade coverage for an 8-yard score. John Bentley converted the extra point, giving the Blitzkrieg a 7-0 lead.

The Blitzkrieg extended their lead in the second quarter, again assisted by Cornelius Camp. He connected for an 18-yard touchdown pass to tight end Troy Hahn, who shook off defenders to find the end zone. A successful extra point by Bentley brought the score to 14-0. Later in the quarter, Bentley added a 21-yard field goal, increasing the margin to 17-0 at halftime.

Pittsburgh's ground game was impressive, totaling 267 rushing yards and four touchdowns. Running back Fernando Russo led the way with 131 yards and one touchdown on the ground, along with 11 receiving yards. Gilbert Yates contributed 92 rushing yards and 47 receiving yards. Seth Kitchens also scored on the ground, tallying 44 rushing yards and an 8-yard reception.

Quarterback Camp was effective through the air, completing 28 of 45 passes for 197 yards and three touchdowns, though he was intercepted twice. Backup Enrique Webb threw a 2-yard touchdown pass but had one interception.

The Blitzkrieg's defense held the Challengers to zero points and limited their rushing attack to 19 yards on just eight carries. Los Angeles quarterback Jerry Boone threw for 141 yards, but his two interceptions hindered the Challengers' offensive efforts. Boone also rushed for 14 yards.

In the third quarter, Bentley added another field goal from 28 yards, pushing the Brentkrieg's lead to 20-0. The final touchdown came early in the fourth quarter on a 5-yard pass from Camp to Fernando Russo, followed by a successful extra point by Bentley.

Pittsburgh’s defense applied consistent pressure with two sacks and forced one fumble. The Blitzkrieg committed three penalties for 20 yards, while Los Angeles was penalized three times for 18 yards.

The Blitzkrieg's special teams were active in the punting game, with Jason Barrier and Ralph Butler exchanging punts that pinned opponents deep and helped maintain field position control.
