KETTERING, OH – The Gem City Gangsters secured a 28-10 victory over the Randolph Regulators at home on September 10, improving their season record to 1-1. Under Head Coach Kermit Thomas, the Gangsters relied on strong defense and consistent special teams to control the game from start to finish.

The Gangsters took an early lead with two field goals from kicker David White, who was perfect on all five attempts, setting the score at 6-0 by the end of the first quarter. White’s precise kicking kept the Gangsters ahead and helped maintain momentum. The Regulators struggled offensively in the first half, partly due to a key interception by Gangsters cornerback Patrick Warburton early in the game.

Quarterback Neil Anderson led the Gangsters offense efficiently, completing 21 of 30 passes for 216 yards and two touchdowns. One of his touchdowns came on a short 4-yard pass to Harley Davidson, who also caught nine receiving yards, early in the second quarter to extend the lead to 13-0. Anderson also contributed on the ground, along with standout Stanley Farber who rushed for 120 yards and added 25 receiving yards.

The Regulators managed to get on the scoreboard before halftime with a 51-yard field goal by Eric Ruth, making it 13-3. However, the Gangsters responded quickly in the fourth quarter, with Anderson connecting on a 14-yard touchdown pass to Adam Sandler, who gained 75 receiving yards, pushing the score to 22-3.

Randolph's Benjamin Flanagan threw a 75-yard touchdown pass to Ronald Anderson shortly after, cutting the deficit to 22-10, but the Regulators could not threaten further. The Gangsters’ defense, which tallied four sacks and forced a fumble recovered by Jack Frost in the third quarter, consistently disrupted the Regulators’ attempts to rally.

Randolph’s ground game showed some strength with Scott Cooper rushing for 89 yards, but it was not enough to overcome turnovers and the Gangsters’ superior kicking game. The victory places Gem City in second place in their division.

The Gangsters avoided any third-down conversions and red zone scoring data for this game was noted as zero. Penalties were limited to six for 40 yards by the Gangsters, well-contained compared to Randolph's four penalties for 27 yards.

This win marks the Gangsters’ first of the regular season after a loss in week one. Coach Kermit Thomas’ squad now looks to build on this performance as they prepare for upcoming divisional matchups. The Randolph Regulators remain winless at 0-2 and face pressure to adjust their offensive execution moving forward.
