The Gem City Gangsters extended their winning streak to one game with a 20-10 victory over the Randolph Regulators on November 5 at Randolph's home field. With the win, the Gangsters improve to 8-2 overall and maintain first place in their division, while the Regulators fall to 3-7.

The Gangsters took an early lead in the opening quarter on a 77-yard touchdown pass from quarterback Neil Anderson to tight end Harley Davidson. The touchdown came just over a minute into the game, setting the tone for Gangsters head coach Kermit Thomas' squad. David White added the extra point, making it 7-0.

Randolph responded quickly with a touchdown run by running back Scott Cooper from five yards out, trimming the lead to 10-7 after the extra point by Eric Ruth. Cooper was a standout for the Regulators, producing 121 rushing yards and the team's only touchdown.

Gem City added to their lead with two field goals by David White, one from 40 yards out in the first quarter and another from 26 yards in the second, pushing the score to 13-7. The second half saw limited offensive production from both teams. Randolph's only score in the second half was a 54-yard field goal from Eric Ruth in the third quarter, bringing the score within three.

Both teams struggled to convert on third downs and sustained drives throughout the game, with neither team recording successful third-down conversions. Turnovers played a significant role. Randall quarterback Benjamin Flanagan threw an interception early in the game, caught by Gangsters defensive back N. Forcer. Conversely, Neil Anderson was also intercepted in the second half by Willie Ogden of the Regulators, who also contributed to the defense with a forced fumble.

The Gangsters defense applied steady pressure, recording three sacks and recovering a fumble. Offensively, the Gangsters leaned on a balanced approach with 161 passing yards from Anderson and 166 rushing yards led by running back Chris Cornell, who also contributed 28 receiving yards and scored the team's lone rushing touchdown.

Penalties were minor for both sides, with the Gangsters penalized 20 yards on two infractions and the Regulators 11 yards also on two penalties.

Gangsters head coach Kermit Thomas' team controlled field position with effective punting by Rodney Wright and Rodney's specialization in pinning opponents deep, limiting the Regulators' scoring opportunities. Wright regularly placed punts inside the 20-yard line, including notable 47 and 48-yard punts.

The win solidifies Gem City's status as the division leader with a 4-1 record in the division, while Randolph remains in fourth place. With just three games left in the regular season, the Gangsters are firmly positioned for a playoff push.

The Randolph Regulators, under Eugene Mackey, will look to rebound in the coming weeks as they seek to avoid a losing season. The defense showed moments of resilience but the offense struggled with consistency, posting just 37 passing yards and relying heavily on a ground game that did not produce touchdowns beyond Cooper's run.

Overall, the Gangsters controlled the game pace early and managed to maintain enough advantage to secure victory despite some offensive turnovers and the Regulators' efforts to keep the game close.
