Pittsburgh Blitzkrieg maintained their perfect record in the 2062 season with a decisive 49-9 victory over the Houston Roughnecks at home on November 19. The Blitzkrieg improved to 12-0 and clinched the division under head coach Anthony Kirby, extending a 12-game winning streak. Houston fell to 5-7 and continued a two-game losing skid.

The game started with a field goal by Pittsburgh's John Bentley, who converted a 20-yard kick in the first quarter to put the home team ahead 3-0. Pittsburgh's defense then forced Houston quarterback Mark Smith into two key fumbles, both recovered by Russell Hambright, setting up critical scoring opportunities.

One such turnover led to a touchdown at the 4:21 mark in the first quarter after a sack and fumble recovery by David Kost and Hambright. Bentley added the extra point to extend the lead to 10-0. Later in the quarter, quarterback Cornelius Camp connected on a 58-yard touchdown pass to William Dasilva, followed by another Bentley extra point, making the score 17-0.

Pittsburgh continued to dominate the second quarter. Bentley added a 30-yard field goal to increase the lead to 20-0. Houston managed a 24-yard field goal by Paul Miller late in the quarter but was unable to close the gap.

In the third quarter, Cornelius Camp threw a 3-yard touchdown pass to Jason Burton, with Bentley’s extra point giving Pittsburgh a commanding 27-3 lead. The Blitzkrieg offense continued to capitalize on turnovers and efficient rushing, with standout performances from Gilbert Yates, who rushed for 94 yards and caught passes for 38 yards including one touchdown, and fullback Michael Olsson, who contributed 37 rushing yards with a touchdown and 81 receiving yards.

Pittsburgh's defense pressured Houston relentlessly, recording five sacks and forcing two fumbles total. William Martin led the pass rush with two sacks and a forced fumble. Houston’s Mark Smith was sacked multiple times, threw three interceptions, and lost two fumbles, greatly hindering his team’s offense.

Statistically, Pittsburgh completed 25 of 37 passes for 275 yards and three touchdowns, while rushing 34 times for 140 yards and three scores. Houston’s offense managed 195 passing yards on 29 completions and 19 rushing yards but failed to reach the end zone.

Despite Pittsburgh's 14 penalties for 122 yards, Houston was less penalized with four flags for 28 yards. Neither team converted third downs during the contest, and both failed to reach the red zone with touchdowns.

With Sunday’s win, the Pittsburgh Blitzkrieg remain atop the division standings and have solidified their seeding in the playoffs. Houston’s Roughnecks face an uphill battle as they look to rebound from their third consecutive defeat.
