...and Bruno and DaBalla are best at sitting on Discord chat posting pictures of and comparing me to Seth Rollins while having a whine fest and not learning how to play the game.

Maybe I should back off. They're probably 12 year old BTS fan girls.

Smirt I’ve always appreciated your wrestling analogies.

I tried to make in clear in my last post that Smirt is the clear cut best gameplanner. He has had ridiculous defenses in the past where I could care less about my defense. I only bring up the passing game in regards to the special attention I've spent on it for years. Just because I believe I'm the best where it comes to passing isn't a slight on Smirt or his abilities.

I'm just stating what I firmly believe and showing the stats to back up my claim. I can't do what Smirt does and I don't want that crown....it's messy and comes with too much unneeded pressure. I decided nearly 5 years ago that I would focus on my passing offense and make it the best! I believe that the stats below show that. I'm not driven by winning like Smirt...sure it's fun but if I lose a shootout I'm not upset but a 10-0 win also doesn't thrill me. My style also means I will probably lose a game or 2 early in the season while I try some new ideas...I hate being undefeated and feel like that is also unacceptable pressure to me. Furthermore, since it went to a 1 bye system...I don't care about the bye anymore...my goal is simple...make the playoffs every season.

Back to stacking playmakers! At a minimum you want 1 RB, 1TE and 3 WRs but ideally I want 4 RBs, 1 FB, 1 TE and 5 WRs. Not someone playing multiple positions....I mean a different player for each position. This limits the effects of fatigue and injury while giving the QB options while limiting the defense from keying on a particular player.

Speed is still king in the passing game but much like ball carry has become a thing with RBs....route running, B&R and most importantly pass courage are now a thing!

Roster question for you Fred (or Smirt, or anybody else). If you have 11 spots (or more) tied up with these offensive playmakers, do you skimp somewhere else on the roster - fewer o linemen, DBs, etc? My Toronto roster here in XFL seems pretty deep, but some other offensively challenged teams might need to be retooled to add more weapons.

I'm offense 1st obviously and currently my roster is

30 offense
3 QB
4 RB
4 TE
6 WR
13 OL

2 kickers

28 defense
9 DL
8 LB
11 DB

I will need to make 7 cuts
QB
2 TE
OL
1 DL
1 LB
1 DB

That leaves me with

26 offense (12 playmakers/12 linemen/2 qb)
2 kickers
25 defense (8 line/7 lb/10 db)

Thomas Strickland (QB) 1,606 1,064 66.3 11,264 7.01 102/814 80 93 41 92.49

I put you on the Mt. Rushmore of GMs when that was kicked around in a thread awhile back and always have mentioned what a pain in the *** it is to face you. I cranked up my war machine and you crank up yours and yeah you're passing game is typically more potent than mine but lets not sleep on me. I can pull off the above in many leagues over time. I'm up 2.5k in all-time passing on the field.

You're right, being the #1 target sucks but I can use it against people, too. Turn their anger energy against them and capitalize on mistakes.

Example: shockcollar cries on a league thread that I have 15 CBs....now I know where he stands. Home boy = mad. I remain quiet and take that to the lab when we face off knowing he'll come at me with rage.

Made me think of it with Dan's roster construction question.

That's where you and I are completely different Smirt....I focus solely on my passing game and won't change what I do regardless of opponent.

My best friend, worse enemy or the A.I. gets the same gameplan...they either stop it or they don't but I don't adjust my passing game for anyone

Interesting breakdown. I always seem to end up with extra o and d linemen who rarely play, so maybe I can trim a few for more playmakers.

I'm curious how you judge QBs. Besides wanting as close to 100s for accuracy and intelligence as you can get (obviously), what other ratings do you prioritize or how do you rank the skills? Any explanation for passing release and scrambling would be great, because I have no idea how to judge that in actual gameplay besides the "that pass really wobbled" line. Thanks.

I'll take a back seat here, however, scrambling is a sucker's bet.

Admiral was so hyped when it came out and had his Pom-Poms going in full effect but it plays to a 50/50 proposition.

You need a long pass to activate it and when you do utilize that you'll either run for 10 yards or get sacked for -10. Back/forth. Back/forth.

If it worked I'd be going Hoody Hoo with the PA Roll-out. lol

I didn't think scrambling was very important, but didn't know it was more likely a factor with long passes (which don't work with 4.6 anyway).

I look at accuracy, intelligence, look off and FOV in that order for QBs, with personal floors of what I'd accept for arm strength, speed, acceleration, break tackle and avoid fumble. Just didn't know if I was massively over or underestimating the importance of certain skills.
