Playing against Michael77 in the NFFL league for a championship with my RB1 out due to injury, I had zero expectation to win.
As I watched the sim play out, my defense gave up first down after first down right down the field. The score was 13-0 at halftime only due to my defense making 2 goalline stands at the 1 yard line to hold them to fieldgoals.
The 3rd quarter was more of the same but on the first drive we intercepted them in the endzone to prevent a score and I had a flicker of hope but our next drive stalled just out of fieldgoal range and Michael scored quickly on a 3 play drive to make it 20-0.
Any attempt at a comeback seemed to die in the 4th quarter when with 8:45 left on the clock, my WR dropped a wide open TD pass from my QB. Knowing how version 4.4 is, I nearly quit watching after my kicker then missed the fieldgoal but since it is a championship game I watched.
Michaels next drive went 3 and out and he punted away giving me the ball with 7:04 left on the clock and down 20-0. Thats when things started to change.
My QB led a quick strick 3 play 56 yard TD drive that took 52 seconds. Still down 13 with 6:13 left, Michael made his first mistake by throwing the ball and it was intercepted. 6 plays and 46 yards later, it was 20-13.
Michael gets the ball with 4:02 left and moves the ball down to my 34 yard line. With his team just out of fieldgoal range and the clock running at 2:38, Michael makes his 2nd mistake, interception!
With 2:30 left on the clock and the ball on my own 24 yard line, my QB orchestrated a 10 play 76 yard drive that ends in a TD pass with 21 seconds left on the clock! I actually jumped out of my chair dropping my phone and we pulled off an epic comeback to win the League Champiknship.
To beat Michael77 was enough, to comeback from 20-0 with 7:04 left in the game was incredible, especially considering how hard it is to score in version 4.4
Im gonna remember and enjoy this one for a long time!
