The Washington/Vegas battle of the running backs is intriguing but also somewhat deceptive.
Washington's Brandon Stone ended up winning the rushing crown and setting the single season record but only because Vegas' RB Scott Clark sat out week 16 because Vegas had nothing to play for and Clark entered week 16 with 102 yards rushing more than Stone.
Stone would rush the ball 27 times for 152 yards in week 16 in a meaningless game for Washington and take the season rushing crown and Alltime record away from Clark by 50 yards.
If you look a little deeper, Stone got the record in yards based on rushing the ball 88 more times then Clark which resulted in Stone having a solid 4.5 average per rush but Clark finished with an incredible 5.6 average per rush.
Both players were considered for the leagues MVP but the two players sort of canceled each other out when you consider Stone had 10 rushing TDs to Clark's 5 rushing TDs.
The most surprising stat was Brandon Stone set the Alltime single season rushing record despite his longest rush of the season being just 20 yards.
Stone may have stolen the regular season rushing record from Clark but Clark leads all rushers in this postseason with 220 yards rushing in 2 games while Stone is 4th at 169 yards.
The deceptive part about the 2 RBs and 2 teams is this: while Stone is clearly the RB1 for Washington, he is also RB2 as well. The next closest rusher for Washington in the postseason is Paul Wilson with 47 yards. Clark is RB1 for Vegas but by no means is he alone as Clifford Mays is 5th among all rushers in the postseason with 156 yards followed by Gabriel Largent with 90 yards!
Below is each teams rushing for both the regular season plus postseason.
