2043 Season ReportWe are at the quarter pole of the 26th season in the XFL and we have 6 undefeated teams (AXC-2/NXC-4) plus 5 winless teams (AXC-3/NXC-2). That leaves 21 teams somewhere in the middle.
AXCWESTThe AXC has just 2 undefeated teams and they are both in the West division. Oakland & Vancouver both can't stay undefeated unless they miraculously tie in both meetings but they don't play each other until week 12. Indiana (2-2) is still alive 2 games behind while Kansas City (0-4) has wet the bed early in the season.
EASTThe East division is led by Buffalo as usual but they have lost 2 straight and sit 2-2 but the other 3 teams haven't taken advantage of the opening. New England (1-3) & Miami (1-3) sit 1 game behind while New York (0-4) is winless.
NORTHThe North has Cincinnati and Pittsburgh tied atop the division at 3-1 with Toronto (2-2) a game behind. Cincinnati has already swept the season series versus Toronto in a weird scheduling Anomoly. Surprisingly, Houston (1-3) is in last place after winning the division the past 2 seasons and lost to Toronto in their only division game.
SOUTHThe South has 3 teams sitting at 3-1 including Dakota, Michigan and Texas plus Daytona (0-4) pulling up the rear. Michigan has the edge here with a 2-0 division record followed by Dakota (1-0) and Texas (1-1).
NXCEASTThe East is led by Philadelphia (4-0) with Providence (2-2), Washington (1-3) and Brooklyn (0-4) rounding out the division. Philadelphia is already 3-0 in division with wins versus all 3 division rivals.
WESTArizona (3-1) has won this division the past 2 seasons and Vegas (1-3) now 3 seasons removed from back to back Titles have started slow. Seattle (1-3) & Los Angeles (0-4) rounding out the division.
NORTHGem City (4-0) sits atop the division and after being a perennial contender from 2022-2029, they had some lean years from 2030-2036 where they missed the postseason 6 of 7 seasons. Since 2037, they have made the postseason 6 straight seasons including 5 straight division crowns. Montana (3-1) sits a game behind and since missing the postseason in their first 16 seasons, they have become relevant making the playoffs in 4 of the last 8 seasons. Zehlendorf (2-2) and Saint Paul (1-3) round out the division.
SOUTHMemphis (4-0) & Atlanta (4-0) both remain undefeated and 2-0 in division joining the AXC East as the 2 divisions with multiple undefeated teams. The two teams meet in week 9 so circle your calendar. Tampa Bay (1-3) & Carolina (1-3) are both playing for a possible Wildcard spot at this point.
2043 StatisticsPASSINGQB Alvin Johnson won back to back ALLPROS in 2041 & 2042 with Memphis plus was named MVP in 2041 but when the former 7th round picks contract expired, Memphis let him walked and he signed with Division rival Atlanta for a league minimum contract.
Memphis shocked the league when they emptied the vault and signed 10 year veteran QB Anthony Henderson formerly with Zehlendorf the past 7 seasons. They signed him to a huge 6 year/252 million dollar contract despite putting up pedestrian numbers with Zehlendorf the past 5 seasons. Memphis has shown the ability to resurrect bad quarterbacks with Johnson's recent successes late in his career and it appears they have done the same for Henderson. He currently leads the league in passing yards (1,423) & passing TDs (11).
QB Gary Fielding (ARZ) has found a home in Arizona after being traded twice in his young career. He is 2nd in passing yards (1,076) & 5th in passing TDs (7).
QB Juan Payne (PHI) signed with Philadelphia in the off-season after 5 seasons with Los Angeles where he had some success leading LA to the postseason three straight seasons (2037-2039) before he seemed to hit a brick wall the past 3 seasons. He is currently 3rd in passing yards (1,027) & tied for 2nd in passing TDs (9) and has yet to throw an interception. His 134.11 QBR leads the league by 34 points above qualifying starters.
Ricardo Dodds (BUF)
He is a 2× former ALLPRO & MVP and is having a slow start for the 2nd time in the past 3 seasons. He is still 5th in passing yards (858) but has a 3/5 TD/INT ratio while his completion percentage is a career low 50.7%.
Robert Alvarez (DAK)
He is a former ALLPRO & MVP and is having the worse season of his young career. He has just 676 yards passing (15th) and a 4/6 TD/INT ratio. His completion percentage is a career low 46.3% where he has never finished the previous 5 seasons below 61.2%.
QB Alan Wyatt (PIT)
He was drafted by Pittsburgh in the 4th round and this his 7th season as starter may be his best. He is 4th in passing yards (935) & tied for 2nd in passing TDs (9) while having just 3 interceptions.
QB Alvin Johnson (ATL)
He signed with Atlanta after back to back ALLPROs plus a 2041 MVP but has yet to play a snap as he sits behind QB Michael Ceron. Ceron has led the team to an undefeated start but his 717 passing yards (12th), 8 TD passes (4th) and 6 interceptions (3rd) have fans wondering if Johnson might not be the answer at QB. Ceron has led the team to back to back Titles so I would expect the leash will be long.
RUSHINGWR Ice Inveins (DAK) won the rushing crown last season and was named ALLPRO while WR Leroy Bello (ATL) finished 2nd and is the 2041 ALLPRO at RB.
RB John Love (OAK) leads the league in rushing (505) and is 2nd in rushing TDs (4).
WR Leroy Bello (ATL) is 2nd in rushing (477) and leads the league in rushing TDs (6).
WR Peter Chappell (ATL) is 3rd in rushing (463) as part of Atlanta's potent 1-2 punch that has helped the team win back to back Titles.
WR Ice Inveins (DAK) is 4th in rushing (454) as the reigning rushing Champ remains within striking range for a repeat.
RECEIVINGWR James Fain (MEM) has won back to back receiving triple crowns since being drafted with the 7th overall pick in 2041. He lost his QB via free agency and sprained his ankle in the 3rd preseason game so week 4 was his first game.
WR James Vasquez (MEM) leads the league in receptions (40), yards receiving (575) and TD receptions (5). He has couple with QB Anthony Henderson to replace last seasons QB Alvin Johnson to WR James Fain award winning duo.
WR Roy Kirkpatrick (PHI) is 2nd in yards receiving (461) & tied for 1st in TD receptions (5) while being 11th in receptions (22).
WR John Sellers (ARZ) is 3rd in receiving yards (389).
WR Mario Peacock (BUF) won the 2042 MVP thanks to his Total yards (2,878) & Total TDs (25) where he had over 1,000 yards rushing & receiving. He finished 3rd in receiving yards last season (1,396) & TD receptions (16). He is 5th in receiving yards (325) & 9th in TD receptions (2) this season.
WR Gary Hunt (DAK) finished 2nd in receptions, receiving yards & TD receptions behind WR James Fain in all 3 categories and was selected ALLPRO. He is 7th in receiving yards (322) & 9th in TD receptions (2) this season.
TE Jason Nez (WOL) leads all TEs in receptions (30), receiving yards (326) & TD receptions (2) this season.
RETURNSCB Oscar Willett (SEA) was named ALLPRO returner last season in large part to his 2 KO return TDs.
FB Jameson Kelly (WAS) already has 2 KO return TDs on 7 Total returns to lead the league. The single season record is only 3 held by 7 different players including WR Robert Yancy who has done it twice.
WR Travis Hall (TBY) has a rare punt return TD this season and since nobody has every had 2 in a season, he has 12 games to make history.
KICKINGK Tony Houpt (PRI) was named ALLPRO last season by going 34/36 on FGs including 9/11 from 50+ yards plus 21/21 on XPs.
K Jim Dickerson (VAN) led the league last season going 38/44.
