2046 DRAFT CLASSI've listed 37 players below I think have a chance to go in the 1st round. Obviously, this is all based off my own personal weights & style of play so I'm sure players I haven't listed will go in the first round. That's also because I simply may have missed someone is my quick analysis.
I will use this list of players to break down my annual 1st round draft review but if you select someone off the list I will make as honest an opinion of that pick as possible. I'm well aware that everyone has a different style, different weights & focuses on different aspects of the game so my reviews are done with a sense of humor and I'm willing to blast myself seasons later when I was so wrong in my review of a particular player.
QBIf you are looking for a francise QB, this isn't the draft for you. Only 1 QB has any chance to go in the 1st round and he is honestly more of a 2nd rounder.
1. Roger Jeanpierre 26/80
RBThere is only 1 true 1st round RB in this draft class but several WRs, a TE & FB all could be moved to RB and excel.
1. RB Raymond Lecompte 33/88
2. WR William Gorsuch 29/80
3. WR Charles Claus 24/80
4. TE Bryant Minick 28/78
5. FB Paul Johnson 27/73
6. WR Marvin White 22/71
TEAgain there is 1 true 1st round TE with several other players that could fill the role if needed.
1. TE Bryant Minick 39/87
2. WR William Gorsuch 30/77
3. FB Paul Johnson 29/72
4. TE Terry King 35/73
WRIf you need a WR, This is the draft for you. There are 5 WRs with elite speed plus 4 quality possession WRs along with a mix of both and RB Lecompte who may be the best WR of the bunch but should end up as someone's RB.
1. RB Raymond Lecompte 31/87
2. WR Jacob Jeter 37/78
3. WR Thomas Eveland 36/84
4. WR Noah Watson 36/78
5. WR William Gorsuch 33/75
6. WR Jason Quinones 35/74
7. WR Marvin White 32/74
8. WR Travis Bacon 31/76
9. WR Brian Thompson 35/73
10. WR Carmello Cruz 31/71
11. WR Andrew Lee 31/72
OLI usually don't recommend taking OL in the first round unless he is a stud. This draft really doesn't have that 15 year HOF type O-lineman but a couple could go at the end of the 1st round especially Roberts who has the size & strength to play RG or RT in the XFL.
1. LT Marvin Roberts 30/89
2. RG Stephen Holland 26/86
DLI'm not the best judge of traditional DL but 2 players catch my eye in this draft. I look for a combination of speed, acceleration & strength along with pass rush for my DL. A couple LBs really catch my eye for edge rushers based on speed & strength.
1. LDE Shannon Shockley 46/84
2. RDE Keith Aguilar 43/77
3. WLB Joseph Carpenter 37/72
4. SLB Levi Dolan 42/76
LBFinding a good LB in the first round is rough because you want speed, acceleration, good tackler, run defense & M2M coverage skills. There are a few possibilities but none are top of the draft MLB quality
1. SLB Robert Shearer 31/77
2. WLB Joseph Carpenter 38/74
3. SLB Gino Dixon 31/74
DBI want speed along with cover skills or dominate cover skills with lesser speed but obviously both make a top of the 1st round pick. Much like WR, there are a nice selection of playmaker DBs that should go off the board in the 1st round.
1. SS Roland Mathis 38/87
2. CB Dale Wilson 35/85
3. CB Carl Bowman 34/80
4. CB Richard Arviso 31/73
5. CB David Swain 31/76
6. FS Andrew Smith 31/74
7. CB Manuel Harris 30/79
8. CB Claude Miller 31/73
9. CB Eric Wicker 29/70
10. CB James McGuire 32/78
