Is the sim time going to stay where it's at the whole season or pushed forward to where it was?

2046 TRAINING CAMP TOUR

With the preseason kicking off tonight, I will start releasing my team reviews Division by Division over the course of the entire preseason.

We have a decent amount of fairly new owners in the XFL so I will give my normal disclaimer. I do these writeups for fun and to hopefully make the league more interesting. My opinions are based solely on my player weights, my style of game planning and a reasonable guess of final record based on the upcoming schedule.

***IM NOT BEING INSULTING TO ANYONE***

Please, if I say you are going 4-12, it's just my opinion and meant as no insult to you as an owner or a person.

***IM WRONG ALOT***

I give my opinions and post them and have no problem going back and showing how wrong I was and how much of a moron I am so if I give you a bad review, by all means go undefeated and win the Title and I will be quick to say..."I'm an idiot" before you even have a chance to say a word!

Last season I was close on some, far apart on others so take a look. My predictions are on the left with actual record to the right in parenthesis with the difference listed last.

In fact, I only hit 2 records on the nose by had 14 records within 1 game & 23 records within 2 games. I only had 4 teams where my prediction was at least 4 games off capped by Orlando who did 5 games worse then my prediction. In my defense the owner quit mid-season due to real world issues but it is what it is.

DRAFT PICKS:

DT Gil Whitman (4th)
LDE William Levey (5th)

BREAKDOWN:
Offensively they lost RB Gregory Dallas to free agency who was 2nd on the team in rushing. They spent big in free agency on RG Fred Stacey. They used their 1st round pick on a Center.
Defensively they lost 10 players (7 FA/3 RET) from their 7th ranked defense including their top 2 tacklers (SLB Perez/MLB Reynolds, their 2nd & 3rd sack leaders (SLB Perez/RDE Sailor) and their 1st & 3rd best pass defenders (MLB Reynolds/CB Lehman). They signed 7 players in free agency but none coming off a season where they were starters so they are essentially searching for hidden gems. They used 4 of their 5 draft picks on defense where they picked 2 DL (4th/5th) & 2 DB (2nd/3rd).

PREDICTION: 11-5
Vancouver is on their 3rd different owner in 3 seasons but they may have finally landed a longterm answer in Lemon. He is known as a offensive mind and the roster has enough talent to win now but the defense is thin and lacks depth. Still Vancouvers schedule is fairly easy as they have 9 games versus teams with losing records last season.

BREAKDOWN:
Offensively they traded 3 depth skill position players for draft picks plus they lost 2 OL to retirement. They signed RB Fields & WR Weiner to add veteran depth before the draft. They drafted 4 WRs (2nd/2nd/3rd/4th) plus 3 OL (3rd/4th/5th) as they add youth to their 24th ranked offense.
Defensively they traded 3 DBs to Memphis for draft picks plus they lost 4 more DBs to retirement. They signed 3 DBs in free agency plus drafted another in the 2nd round. They also drafted a LB (2nd) and DL (4th) as they attempt to retool their 24th ranked defense.
All told, they traded 6 players for 12 draft picks including 8 picks in the 2046 draft and they had 11 draft picks in the 2046 draft but no 1st rounder.

PREDICTION: 7-9
Indiana is in their 3rd year of this latest rebuild and should take a small step forward as Indiana has the only owner in the division with more than 2 seasons of ownership under their belt.

BREAKDOWN:
Offensively, they lost 13 players including 5 OL, 8 playmakers a FB and a backup QB. They signed 2 backup QBs, 5 OL and 2 veteran playmakers to last seasons 17th ranked offense. They traded away their top 3 rushers & their 3rd, 5th & 7th best receivers. They used their 1st round pick on a RB as they try to match their 3rd ranked Rush offense from last season.
Defensively, they lost 7 players including 5 DBs & 2 DL. They signed 1 veteran DL for their 11th ranked defense plus added a 7th round DL to the mix.
Kansas City traded 7 players in total that were on the roster last season for 10 total draft picks including just 1 pick in 2046.

PREDICTION: 10-6
Kansas City reached the AXC Conference Championship game in McBolt's 1st season as owner but instead of pushing forward hard to take the next step, they attacked the off-season in an attempt to rebuild their roster because they had serious salary cap issues. They will still have some success but may take a step back before eventually getting to where they ultimately want to be.

BREAKDOWN:
Offensively, they lost 2 receivers who caught 90 passes for over 800 yards plus they lost 2 starting OL. They signed 1 OL and a TE in free agency. They ranked 23 in passing offense & 26th in Total offense last season. They drafted 3 OL (4th/5th/6th) plus a WR (6th).
Defensively, they lost 2 DL, 2 LB & 2 DB from last seasons 19th ranked defense. They signed 1 DL & 2 DB in free agency plus drafted 3 DL (1st/2nd/3rd), 2 LB (5th/7th) and 1 DB (7th).

PREDICTION: 5-11
Oakland has a rich tradition of winning but they went under new ownership last season and now he has had his first full off-season to address the teams needs. They added to the defense this off-season but they are still a season or two away from contending.

BREAKDOWN:
Offensively, they lost 2 depth WR that barely played and 3 backup OL so last seasons #1 pass & total offense returns mostly intact with 6 new playmakers & 6 new OL added to the mix.
Defensively, they lost 10 DL & 2 DB from last seasons 9th ranked defense. They added 2 DL, 2 LB & 9 DBs to the mix to offset the loses.
Buffalo is known as the place players go before they retire based on the francises decision to never draft and instead trade for proven talent. Of the 17 players they lost only 2 signed with a new team and 4 retired. At the time of this writing, the average experience for the 56 players on the roster is 9.32 seasons with the youngest player in season 4 while the oldest is in season 19. Buffalo actually had 7 draft picks but all 7 were given their immediate release after being selected.

PREDICTION: 12-4
Buffalo is one of the few francises with an original owner and entering year 29, the team has made the postseason 26 straight seasons.

BREAKDOWN:
Offensively, they lost their leading receiver and 2nd leading rusher to free agency plus 2 starting OL and 1 depth OL from last seasons 29th ranked offense. They added just 1 veteran OL in free agency but they used one of their three 1st rounders on a RB plus added a OL with a 4th rounder.
Defensively, they lost a starting DT, MLB & FS to free agency from their 26th ranked defense. They addressed no holes in free agency. They used 4 draft picks on defense including two 1st rounders (FS/MLB), a 2nd rounder (FS) & a 3rd rounder (SLB).

PREDICTION: 7-9
From 2025 through 2042, New England went 144-144 over those 18 seasons all under the current owner. The team made a conscious effort to completely rebuild the roster in an attempt to do better than breaking even. This is the 4th season of that rebuild and we should start to see some progress.

They signed 2 receivers who combined for 63 receptions, 960 yards & 7 TD receptions in free agency plus added 2 solid OL depth & a FB. They drafted 3 WR (2nd/3rd/4th) and a RB (5th) as they look to improve on last seasons 22nd ranked offense.
Defensively, they lost a DL, 2 LB and a DB from last seasons 28th ranked defense so they signed a veteran DL, 2 LBs who combined for 154 tackles, 7 sacks, 20 knockdowns & 3 interceptions. They also signed 5 DBs who combined for 128 tackles, 36 knockdowns & 8 interceptions. They drafted 2 DB (1st/3rd) & 1 LB (6th) as they have completely rebuild their 27th ranked pass defense.

PREDICTION: 7-9
New York has made the postseason just once in the last 26 seasons including 24 seasons under the former owner but hope was restored in the Big Apple when the team was sold to a new owner last season. After starting last season 0-13, they won 3 straight to end the season and entered the off-season on a high note. The new owner spent big in free agency immediately improving the roster then had a solid draft where they added plenty of speed.

BREAKDOWN:
Offensively, they let starting QB Victor Cruz leave in free agency from last seasons 27th ranked pass & total offense. They also lost a backup center but signed no free agents as they look to build through the draft. They surprisely drafted QB Wendell Anderson with the 6th overall pick and have veteran QB New still on the roster. They also drafted a TE (2nd), RG (3rd), RB (4th), C (6th) & a WR (7th).
Defensively, they lost a starting DT and again signed no players in free agency. They drafted a RDE & SLB in the 2nd round plus a MLB in the 5th round.

PREDICTION: 4-12
Miami has had 8 straight losing seasons including 7 under current ownership and it appears the team plans on starting a rookie QB which should mean they are at least another season away from breaking that streak.

BREAKDOWN:
Offensively, they lost 2 depth WR to retirement plus they lost 8 OL including 4 of their 5 starters from their 10th ranked offense. The team only has 3 OL on the roster after the draft since they only used 1 pick on offense and that was a RB in the 3rd round. In late free agency, they signed 8 OL as they try to completely rebuild their offensive line.
Defensively, they lost 2 starters on the DL from their 7th ranked Rush defense. They signed nobody in early free agency but they drafted 3 LB (5th/6th/7th) and 2 DB (1st/4th) to add youth to last seasons 14th ranked defense. In late free agency they signed 4 veteran DL & 1 DB to add more depth.

PREDICTION: 9-7
Houston has become a consistent winner ever since owner P. Snowflake bought the team back in 2030. He was the original owner of Oakland where he won 2 XFL Championships in 6 seasons before selling the team after the 2023 season. Five years later, he bought Houston and by his 3rd season he made the postseason and has made the postseason in 11 of the last 14 seasons.

They also added a OL to replace the loses on the line. They drafted a WR (5th) and a LT (6th) as they only had 4 picks in this year's draft.
Defensively, they lost some depth on the DL when 2 left in free agency from their 6th ranked defense. They signed a DT in free agency then added a CB in the 4th round of the draft plus another DL in the 7th round.

PREDICTION: 12-4
Pittsburgh was bought by owner Duane Bickett in 2036 and for the first 5 years, the team struggled never winning more then 6 games in a season. The last 5 seasons, Pittsburgh has established themselves as a perennial contender including winning the AXC Conference Championship in 2 of the past 3 seasons.

Offensively, they lost a backup QB, depth at FB, OL & WR including their 3rd best WR McLaughlin who had 459 yards receiving and 4 TD receptions. They signed a young OL in free agency for depth for last seasons 14th ranked offense. They drafted a RB (2nd), QB (3rd), TE (4th), RT (5th) and C (6th) to replace the lost depth.
Defensively, they lost depth at DE & 2 DBs including CB Crandall who was 4th on the team in passes defended and led the team with 7 interceptions. They added 2 veteran DL in free agency for their 18th ranked defense from last season. They used their 1st round pick on a LB and drafted 2 DB (3rd/7th) to replace some of what the team lost in free agency.

PREDICTION: 9-7
Toronto hasn't finished under .500 for 9 straight seasons and 11 of the past 12 seasons including the 2 seasons under the current owner. They have stayed competitive in the deepest/toughest division in the XFL making the postseason in 7 of the last 9 seasons but only once in the past 3 seasons.

Stembridge had 722 yards receiving plus 5 TD receptions for the teams 4th ranked pass offense. They signed a backup QB plus signed 3 OL including 2 starters in LT Durgin & C Brooks to replace the retiring C Saintz. They didn't use any of their 6 draft picks on offense which ranked 5th overall last season.
Defensively, they lost 1 backup DL and 2 backup LB from a defense which finished 23rd overall. They drafted 4 DL (3rd/5th/6th/7th) and 2 DB (1st/4th) plus added 1 DL, 2 LB & 1 DB in free agency. In late free agency, they signed a veteran DL & LB released by Dakota.

PREDICTION: 10-6
Cincinnati has been owned by Blondie for the past 12 seasons and they have posted just 2 losing seasons in that time but never fewer then 6 wins. In 7 of those 12 seasons they have won double digit games and made the postseason in those 7 seasons.

PREDICTION: 10-6
They had a down year last season after back to back division Titles the previous two seasons because the ownership situation was in Flux which trickled down onto the field. Orlando has a new owner, feels rejuvenated and the team returns mostly intact so expect a return to the success of the previous 2 seasons.

Defensively, they lost RDE Smith who led the team with 10 sacks and 12 hurries from the teams 18th ranked defense. They signed MLB Reynolds in free agency who had 72 tackles and 17 knockdowns for Vancouver last season. They used 3 draft picks on defense including their 1st rounder (DT) & 2nd rounder (WLB).

PREDICTION: 8-8
Texas has been owned by J. BIllups for the past dozen seasons and he has gone 92-92 in that time period including just 3 losing seasons. They have made the postseason just twice in those 12 seasons often just missing by a game multiple times.

BREAKDOWN:
Offensively, they lost a backup WR & OL from last seasons 6th ranked offense. They signed a TE, 2 OL and 3 WRs via free agency plus traded for a 4th WR sending future picks to Zehlendorf for WR McLaughlin. One of the OL they signed was C Ronald Mcdonald who started for the 5× defending Champs during the entire run. They drafted a RB to add youth to the offense. They made another trade after the draft sending C Meyers, WR Yang plus 2 future draft picks to KC for C Rosas & WR Moore in what was essentially a salary dump for KC.
Defensively, they lost 2 DL from their 4th ranked defense. They signed 4 DBs to add to the mix plus drafted a CB in the 1st round to strengthen the pass defense.

PREDICTION: 11-5

BREAKDOWN:
Offensively, they lost their former starting QB William Powers of 7 seasons to free agency. They also lost their 2nd leading rusher to free agency & 3rd leading receiver to retirement plus 2 backup OL. QB Powers lost his starting job last season and holds the distinction of being the most sacked QB in XFL history. Their 25th ranked offense lost 2 key pieces and they signed nobody in early free agency to replace them so they drafted a RB (6th), TE (3rd) & 2 OL (1st/2nd) to replace the loses.
Defensively, they lost 2 depth DL, a backup LB and their starting SS from their 23rd ranked defense. Again, they signed no replacements in early free agency so they used the draft to pick 2 DL (5th/7th) and 1 DB (4th) to replace the loses.

PREDICTION: 4-12
Daytona has been owned by Vory Zover for 20 seasons now and after going 8-8 in his 3rd season as owner, it's been 16 straight losing seasons, never winning more then 6 games in that time span. They played better last season and surprised by finishing 5-11.

AXC PREDICTIONS

I have Vancouver, Buffalo, Pittsburgh & Dakota winning their divisions with Pittsburgh getting the bye based on winning the tiebreaker.

Kansas City, Cincinnati & Orlando secure the 3 Wildcard spots as Houston & Toronto just miss the postseason.

WEST

Vancouver 11-5 (y)
Kansas City 10-6 (x)
Indiana 7-9
Oakland 5-11

EAST

Buffalo 12-4 (y)
New England 7-9
New York 7-9
Miami 4-12

NORTH

Pittsburgh 12-4 (z)
Cincinnati 10-6 (x)
Houston 9-7
Toronto 9-7

SOUTH

Dakota 11-5 (y)
Orlando 10-6 (x)
Texas 8-8
Daytona 4-12

TEAM TO WATCH

The New York Empire enter their 2nd season under new ownership and he clearly upgraded the teams roster in free agency & the draft. They play in one of the weakest divisions historically in the AXC and if they have great success within their division and things break right, maybe New York shocks the XFL and makes a run at the postseason!

PREDICTION: 9-7
Brooklyn is under a new owner this year and he is the 4th different owner in the last 6 seasons. Brooklyn has come off back to back postseason appearances after a 6 year drought. The new owner has keep the team intact plus added some talent in the draft to improve the defense. It will be interesting to see how a new approach works in Brooklyn.

BREAKDOWN:
Offensively, they lost their backup QB to free agency plus 2 depth WRs & 3 OL including 2 who started at least half the season. Providence had the 8th ranked offense and they signed veteran QB Powers to compete to be the starter along with drafting a QB in the 7th round. They also drafted 2 WRs (1st/2nd) and a RB (5th) to add youth to a top 10 offense.
Defensively, they lost 2 DL & 3 DBs from the 5th ranked defense. The D-linemen combined for 8 sacks & 9 hurries while the DBs combined for 75 passes defended, 17 knockdowns & 1 interception. They drafted 2 DBs (3rd/4th) and a LB (6th) to replace some of the loses from last seasons 10th ranked pass defense. During the preseason they claimed a DT off waivers.

PREDICTION: 11-5
Providence has made the postseason for 5 straight seasons in the first 6 years under the current owner. They brought in the most sacked QB in XFL history out of Daytona (QB William Powers) and he may win the starting job. Ironically the OL has some questions but the team is loaded with playmakers on offense & defense so it will be exciting to see where they end up.

Offensively, they made two trades last season sending QB Heath to Gem City & WR Gillard & CB Clarkston to New York for 2 OL & 2 future draft picks. They also lost 2 depth WR in the off-season, 1 to free agency and 1 to retirement. They signed QB Stiner & WR Holmes in free agency to replace the depth plus they drafted a TE in the 7th round. They finished last season ranked 11th in total offense after winning 6 of their last 7 games.
Defensively, they return everyone but CB Clarkson who they traded last season on the teams 13th ranked defense. They won the free agency lottery when CB Lehman chose Philadelphia over 4 other teams (PIT/ATL/CIN/DAK) who offered him a Max contract. They also added a MLB in the 5th round of the draft.

PREDICTION: 10-6
Philadelphia has the longest tenured owner in the NXC East in Walt Wut who has owned the team for 9 seasons now and in the previous 8 seasons the Team has made the postseason plus won double digit games in every season.

They signed RB Dallas in free agency plus they drafted a backup QB (6th), 2 more RB (2nd/3rd), a TE (7th) and an OL (5th) to replace who they lost.
Defensively, they lost a DL & 6 DBs via free agency from their 25th ranked defense & 19th ranked pass defense. One of the DBs (Harry Parker) they lost defended the most passes (101), had the 2nd most knockdowns (17) and had the most interceptions (3) on the team. BREAKDOWN:
Offensively, they lost 1 WR & 5 OL via free agency including their 3rd best receiver and 4 of the OL comprised 3 starters from last season. Seattle spend no money in free agency and have nearly 200 million dollars in cap space. The roster is very young and averages 4.11 seasons for the 54 players on the roster at the time of this writing. They drafted 4 OL (2nd/3rd/4th/5th), 2 TE (1st/3rd) and a WR (4th) to their 21st ranked offense.
Defensively, they lost 5 DBs as 3 retired and 2 walked in free agency from last seasons 31st ranked pass defense & dead last ranked defense. They signed 1 DB in free agency plus drafted 2 more (6th/7th) in the later rounds. They also drafted a DE in the 3rd round.

They had the 4th ranked offense but just the 17th ranked Rush offense last season thanks to the trade for QB Gary Fielding. They made a trade to acquire WR Anthony Stembridge to replace the lose of Clark and Stembridge had 700+ yards both rushing & receiving last season. They also signed a RT in free agency with starter experience plus they drafted 3 WRs (5th/6th/6th) in the later rounds to add more depth.
Defensively, they lost their 3rd leading tackler and team leader in knockdowns when they allowed veteran DB Rice to leave in free agency. They signed 1 DL & 1 DB in free agency plus drafted 1 DL (4th) & 4 DBs (3rd/5th/6th/7th) to add some youth & depth to last seasons 30th ranked defense.
