*We have no undefeated teams left after Phoenix lost to Vegas. There are 3 teams at 9-1 plus we have 3 winless teams with 6 games remaining.

*We have 13 teams with winning records and 13 teams with losing records leaving 6 teams at 5-5.

AXC

☆We have 2 9-1 teams (Cincinnati/Dakota) plus 7 teams with a winning record after 10 games.

☆We have 1 winless team (Carolina) plus 6 teams with losing records after 10 games leaving 3 teams at 5-5.

POWER RANKINGS

I do my custom power rankings using the following formula:

☆ wins (+5) loses (-5)
☆ 66 - (Total offense + Total defense)
☆ +/- Turnover margin
☆ opponents record modifier where:

Over (60-40) = +15
(56-44) to (60-40) = +10
(51-49) to (55-45) = +5
(50-50) =0
(45-55) to (49-51) = -5
(40-60) to (44-55) = -10
Under (40-60) = -15

*The Week 4 ranking is in parenthesis followed by each teams combined opponents record in brackets and then I put the current playoff seeding for the 14 playoff spots

*I used the best combined opponents record to break ties.

1. Dakota 93 (8) [55-45] #1 AXC
2. Phoenix 93 (3) [50-50] #1 NXC
3. Buffalo 85 (1) [46-54] #5 AXC

BYE

Cincinnati currently holds the Bye in AXC by 1 game over Dakota & 2 games over Buffalo, New York & Daytona. It gets interesting this week since Cincinnati travels to Buffalo while Dakota beat Cincinnati way back in week 1 to hold the tiebreaker.

*If Cincinnati wins out they clinch the Bye.
*If Dakota wins out and Cincinnati loses 1 game then they clinch the Bye.
*if Buffalo wins out and Cincinnati loses another game plus Dakota loses 1 game then Buffalo clinches the Bye.
*The other three 10-3 team's would need to win out and have Cincinnati lose 2 games plus have Dakota lose 1 game to create a multi-team tiebreaker at 13-3.

WEST

Indiana holds a 3 game lead with 3 games left over Oakland.

*If Indiana wins 1 game or Oakland loses 1 game then Indiana wins the AXC East and most likely the #4 seed in the Conference.
*Oakland needs to win out plus have Indiana lose out to clinch the AXC West at 9-7 based on division record.

Indiana 9-4 (3-2)
Oakland 6-7 (4-2)
Kansas City 4-9 (2-3)
Vancouver 3-10 (1-3)

EAST

Buffalo and New York sit in a virtual tie atop the AXC East.

*Buffalo controls their own destiny and wins the division if they win out based on record versus common opponents.
* New York needs to win out and have Buffalo lose 1 game to clinch the AXC East.

Buffalo 10-3 (4-1)
New York 10-3 (4-1)
Miami 3-10 (1-4)
New England 3-10 (1-4)

NORTH

Cincinnati has already clinched the AXC North for the 6th straight season.

Cincinnati 9-1 (5-0)
Toronto 7-6 (3-2)
Pittsburgh 6-7 (2-3)
Houston 2-11 (0-5)

SOUTH

Dakota has a 1 game lead over Daytona in the AXC South and the two teams split their season series.

*If Dakota wins 2 more games including Orlando in week 16, they will win the division based on common opponents.
*Daytona needs to win out plus have Dakota either lose 2 games or just lose to Orlando in week 16 to win the division.

Dakota 11-2 (4-1)
Daytona 10-3 (3-1)
Orlando 5-8 (2-2)
Texas 0-13 (0-5)

NXC

4 of the 7 playoff spots have been clinched with Memphis or Atlanta guaranteed the 5th spot while both just need 1 more win to officially clinch the 5th & 6th spots. That leaves Los Angeles or Gem City to battle for the 7th and final Wildcard spot.

■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■
1. Phoenix 11-2 (8-2) x
■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■
2. Providence 11-2 (8-2) x
3. Memphis 10-3 (8-1)
4. Montana 10-3 (8-2) y
■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■
5. Brooklyn 11-2 (8-2) x
6. Atlanta 10-3 (7-2)
7. Los Angeles 9-4 (6-3)
■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■
8. Gem City 7-6 (5-5)
■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■

BYE

Phoenix currently holds the Bye over Providence & Brooklyn based on a week 4 win over the Islanders and week 2 win over the Hitmen despite having the same record as Providence & Brooklyn.

*If Phoenix wins out, they clinch the Bye but they play 3 playoff contenders the final 3 games including Los Angeles (9-4), Buffalo (10-3) & Atlanta (10-3).
*If Providence wins out and Phoenix loses 1 game then they clinch the Bye but Providence also plays 3 postseason contenders including Oakland (6-7), Los Angeles (9-4) & Brooklyn (11-2).
*If Brooklyn wins out and Phoenix loses 1 game then they clinch the Bye but Brooklyn also plays 3 postseason contenders including Indiana (9-4), Memphis (10-3) & Providence (11-2).

This should be an exciting final 3 weeks as all 3 teams battle for the Bye and it could all come down to week 16 where Brooklyn hosts Providence plus Atlanta host Phoenix.

WEST

Phoenix has a 2 game lead over Los Angeles with 3 games to play plus they beat Los Angeles in the first of two matchups.

*If Phoenix beats Los Angeles in week 14 then they clinch the NXC West. If they lose to Los Angeles and win one of their final 2 games then they clinch the NXC West.
*Los Angeles needs to win out plus have Phoenix lose out to clinch the NXC West.

Phoenix 11-2 (4-1)
Los Angeles 9-4 (2-2)
Vegas 6-7 (3-2)
Seattle 5-8 (1-5)

EAST

Providence 11-2 (4-1)

Montana 10-3 (5-0)
Gem City 7-6 (2-3)
Saint Paul 4-9 (1-3)
Randolph 4-9 (1-3)

SOUTH

Memphis 10-3 (5-1)
Atlanta 10-3 (4-1)
Tampa Bay 5-8 (2-3)
Carolina 0-13 (0-6)

CAREER MILESTONES

PASSING

Matthew Whitney (BUF) became the QB that has throw the ball the most in the history of the XFL early during their week 10 game versus New York.

He currently has thrown the ball 8,964 times which is 286 more then anyone else. With the most pass attempts Alltime he sits 2nd Alltime in passing yards with 68,119 which is still 9,824 yards behind HOF QB Randal Cunningham (DAK).

He also sits 3rd Alltime in completions with 5,552 which is just 40 behind HOF QB Joseph Weaver and just 415 behind Cunningham.

He also sits 2nd Alltime in TD passes with 511 which is still 190 short of Cunningham. He is 1st Alltime with 271 career interceptions which is 35 more then the previous record holder QB Steven Stiner (TOR/PHI).

Finally, he ranks 2nd Alltime with 679 times sacks in his career which is only 74 shy of the Alltime mark set but QB William Powers (DAY/PRI).

Matthew Whitney has posted insane numbers in his career and could play a few more seasons. His production has put him in the discussion for the greatest of Alltime with QB Randal Cunningham but he is still looking to win a Championship to fully cement his legacy. Randal Cunningham went to 7 Title games and won 3 rings which may be the ultimate tiebreaker in any discussion of the GOAT.

RUSHING

WR Julio Hamilton (CIN) has moved up to 18th Alltime with 8,287 yards rushing in his 6th season as starter. He has a good 2 maybe 3 seasons left in his prime and could easily challenge the Alltime rushing record.

He is 1,017 yards rushing shy of cracking the top 10 and 3,661 yards shy of reaching HOF RB Peter Chappell's (ATL) Alltime rushing record.

He is also 17th Alltime in career rushing TDs with 44 and just 4 shy of tying several others for 8th Alltime while being 28 rushing TDs behind WR Leroy Bello who is still playing for Atlanta in his 12th season in the league.

RECEIVING

Amazingly, 7 of the top 20 WRs in yardage are still active in the XFL. The first 6 are in years 11, 12, 12, 12, 14 & 14 and are playing a greatly diminished role in their offenses. Only WR James Hurlbert (PNX) remains in his prime and sits ranked 20th in receiving yards with 8,840 yards. He needs 160 more receiving yards to become the 17th player to eclipse 9,000 in his career.

More to follow in the coming weeks!!!

RECORD BREAKING

QB Matthew Whitney (BUF)

He set a new record for pass attempts (112) & pass completions (72) in a game during their week 14 lose to Cincinnati. Buffalo hosted Cincinnati and lost big 45-18 despite the record breaking numbers.

Buffalo had 534 yards passing to Cincinnati's 246 while neither team gained much on the ground, Buffalo 26 yards and Cincinnati had 37 yards.

The game was won & lost on 4th down where Buffalo went a respectable 8 for 19 (.421).on 4th down to turn the ball over on downs 11 times which led to Cincinnati's average drive start being the 50 yard line while Buffalo had an average drive start of their own 20 yard line.

A match up of two QBs who have 3 MVPs each was won by QB Gary Fielding who set no records but did have 4 of his 13 completions go for TDs.

That's ok. I've been quietly barreling towards Randall Cunningham with reckless abandon. I like reading this stuff; only pisses me off more for each game. :)

I lost because and not getting into much of strategy but the short passing did not get over the top of blitzes I had 92-96% play knowledge on and I played the game for a shoot out style.

But, hey, if the scouted blitzes I nearly have 100% knowledge on don't want to connect for big hitters, nothing I can do.

Curiosity got the better of me since I was similarly shut down by Cincy to see if he was calling the same blitzes. Overuse comments were made in my matchup in the 4th quarter, but my offense was unable to break through before time ran out. Smirt’s game had overuse comments start at the end of the FIRST quarter, then silence until almost halftime when they returned. By the time the 4th quarter came along, no more overuse calls weee made against blondie, but they were pouring in for everything Smirt was doing instead. I imagine having over 100 offensive snaps will do that, but where are the consequences for said overuse? Is it simply balancing out because both sides keep calling the same things? Spamming is obviously a rampant problem everywhere, but with no consequences on non blitzing defenses being the only plays supposedly immune to the penalty? The longer it goes, the more broken this game seems…

Obviously, my strategy works as I hit off 90+ games left and right now. 100+ snaps, 127 or whatever...the theory would be I'm constantly bringing up his blitzes I came out of the game with 96% knowledge on...3 of them, if not 4, therefore, the theory is you tire out the CBs - get the back-ups in and pound pound pound and break off major hit after major hit. He held up. 99% of the GMs would get blasted to KINGDOM COME.

Blondie is an elite GM, therefore, elite GM factor stifled it off...for now. lol
