Welcome to the 9th season of the XFL League.
It's the end of an era in Dakota as Head Coach Herbert Warner has announced his retirement. Warner was the original Head Coach of the francise who finished with a record of 120-29-1, 7 consecutive division titles, 4 conference championships and 2 league championships. In addition, Defensive Coordinator Theodore Donald has also retired. He spent the last four seasons running the defense and leading the team to 3 straight Conference Championships and a League Championship.
The Blizzard also lost WR Daniel Chapa and CB Gordon Speed to retirement. Both players were part of the original allocation draft and played huge rolls in the francises success.
Speed finished his career with 39 interceptions which ranks 2nd alltime in league history. His 112 tackles in the playoffs is the most alltime and he is 2nd alltime in playoff interceptions with 6.
Chapa was a consistent weapon who finishes ranked 30th alltime in receiving yards and 20th alltime in TD receptions. His contributions in the playoffs stand out as he is 2nd alltime in receiving yards with 884 and 3rd alltime with 4 TD receptions.
The Dakota Blizzard also lost QB coach Willard Frederickson, starting RT Joseph Charles, starting LG Zachary Rosario and WR Carl Hilton to retirement.
The search for a new Head Coach has begun as one era ends and a new era begins. This will be a pivotal year for the Dakota Blizzard as the Milwaukee Buzzsaws seem poised to take control of the division. This free agency and draft will be key to the direction this team takes heading into the future.
