This was a close game for 4 quarters as neither team led by more than 8 points at any time in the game. Saint Paul got off to a 6-0 lead after settling for 2 fieldgoals before Brooklyn took a 7-6 lead into halftime. Brooklyn extended their lead to 14-6 on their 1st possession of the 2nd half before Saint Paul's defense shut down Brooklyn's offense on their next 8 possessions. Brooklyn managed just 27 yards and an interception on those next 8 possessions while Saint Paul's offense managed a touchdown to pull within 14-13 after the Brooklyn interception gave them a short field.

Despite Saint Paul's defense shutting down Brooklyn's offense, the Punishers QB Kenneth Powers threw 3 interceptions on 3 straight drives after the touchdown. The last interception gave Brooklyn the ball 1st and 10 from the Saint Paul 47 yard line with 5:44 left but once again the Saint Paul defense allowed just 2 yards and forced another punt. Pinned at thier own 9, QB Kenneth Powers hit WR John Marrero for a 91 yard TD strike and they added a 2 point conversion to give them a 21-14 lead with just 4:22 remaining.

Brooklyn had one last chance with a 1st and 10 from their 24 yard line with 1:14 remaining and no timeouts. They went on a drive aided by QB Bobby Moreira's 28 pass to WR Henry Humphrey and a pass interference call against Saint Paul giving them a final play from the Saint Paul 20 yard line with 20 seconds left. QB Bobby Moreira hit WR Jerry Jeudy which ended the game 2 yards short of the endzone.
