AXC
WEST
Oakland
They hosted Daytona in week 1 and started the season with a convincing 38-3 win. They rushed the ball 36 times for 201 yards and 3 TDs led by Curtis Rivera's 95 yards & 2 rushing TDs. QB Robert Collins went 21 of 27 for 163 yards, 2 TD passes and 1 interception as he managed the game efficiently. Defensively they had 4 interceptions by 4 different players, 8 sacks led by RDE Keith Aguilera's 3 sacks & 1 forced fumble. They host Dakota (0-1) in week 2 as they will look to start the season 2-0 for the first time since 2043 where they finished 11-5.
Indiana
They hosted division rival Vancouver in week 1 and won a very strange game 2-0. That's not a typo, it's the first time in XFL history any team has won a game 2-0. The game featured 16 combined punts plus 6 combined missed fieldgoals as Vancouver Kicker Sheldon Wallace was a healthy scratch after missing curfew several times during the week. Both offenses struggled as Indiana was led by Danny Melillo's 86 yards rushing on 21 carries. SS Everett Redford paced the defense with 10 tackles. Indiana hosts Toronto (0-1) in week 2 as they will look to start the season 2-0 for the first time since 2042 where they finished just 7-9.
Kansas City
They traveled to Dakota in week 1 for a key AXC Conference showdown between 2 teams that have made the postseason the past 3 seasons. Kansas City won the game 33-19 despite being outgained 376-307 thanks to winning the turnover battle 3-1 while stopping Dakota on 4th down 3 times. Barry Walker put the offense on his back, rushing for 161 yards on 23 carries including 2 rushing TDs. Defensively they had 2 interceptions including a pick 6 by CB Frank Francis plus a forced fumble and 2 sacks. They host Cincinnati (1-0) in week 2 as KC has another game versus a Division Champ from last season. Surprisingly, KC hasn't started a season 2-0 since 2038, eleven seasons ago!
Vancouver
They traveled to Indiana in week 1 for a division game and their Kicker Sheldon Wallace was inactive after missing curfew several times during the week. The decision directly let to a lose as CB Brian Marrero became the emergency Kicker and he missed 4 fieldgoals in a 2-0 lose. QB Keith Garcia led the offense going 30 of 43 for 228 yards and 1 interception as Vancouver had the only red zone trip in the game. Vancouver returns home to host Providence (1-0) and they are staring 0-2 in the face which hasn't happened since 2041 where they finished 2-14.
EAST
Buffalo
They hosted division rival Miami in week 1 and held on to win 33-27 with a late punt block which gave them the lead after Miami tied the game 27-27 in the 4th quarter. The offense was led by QB Matthew Whitney who went 41 of 62 for 418 yards, 2 TD passes & 4 interceptions. WRs Joseph Moore & WR Elijah Diller both had 100 yard receiving games (178/125) with Diller having 2 TD receptions. Defensively they were led by CB Steven Holloman who had 9 tackles while they had 2 interceptions, 2 sacks and 1 forced fumble. The play of the game came from CB David Estes who blocked a punt with 6:37 left in the 4th quarter and he recovered the ball to score the game winning TD. Buffalo host New England (0-1) in week 2 as they look to win back to back division games to start the season.
New York
They traveled to Los Angeles in week 1 for what became the game of the week as New York blew an early 20-3 lead to trail 24-23 in the 4th quarter before they scored the game winning TD with under 1 minute on the clock. QB William Jennings was just 17 of 33 for 217 yards, 1 TD and 2 INTs. WR Kenny Davis returned a 1st quarter kickoff 101 yards for a TD to help the offense. Defensively, they had 2 sacks and a forced fumble while they recovered 2 total fumbles. In the 4th quarter, New York trailed 24-23 with 3:57 left in the game and New York was forced to punt the ball away. Peter Chappell was a major acquisition in the off-season from Atlanta and he muffed the punt and New York recovered on the LA 40 yard line. 10 plays later, New York punched it into the endzone for the win. New York hosts Orlando (1-0) in week 2 for an early battle between undefeated AXC teams.
New England
They traveled over 3,000 miles to play Seattle in week 1 and after an early 6-0 lead, they eventually lost to Seattle 27-20. QB Reynaldo Cook played well going 17 of 32 for 210 yards, 2 TDs and 0 INTs but they only rushed for 79 yards and 2 lost fumbles led to the week 1 lose. MLB Edward Williams led the defense with 9 tackles and NE had 2 interceptions & 1 sack. They travel to Buffalo (1-0) in week 2 and they are in danger of starting 0-2 for the 3rd time in the last 4 seasons.
Miami
They traveled to Buffalo in week 1 for a Division showdown with a team they have gone 3-17 against the past 10 seasons including 1-9 in Buffalo. Miami has a new owner and they almost pulled the upset as they took the lead in the 4th quarter before a blocked puny resulted in the game winning TD for Buffalo. WR Timothy Nunez rushed the ball 8 times for 149 yards including 76 & 72 yard TDs. Defensively, rookie FS Charles Waters paced the defense with 9 tackles while the defense had 4 interceptions including 2 by MLB Lewis Jones & 6 sacks with 4 coming from RDE Samuel Brummett. Even in a lose, it's something to build on for Miami as they visit Vegas (0-1) in week 2 where both teams will be looking for their first win.
NORTH
Cincinnati
The defending AXC Champs hosted division rival Houston in week 1 and this was another candidate for game of the week. Cincinnati led 16-14 with 12:38 left in the game. Houston would grab the lead 17-16 with 2 minutes remaining on a 56 yard fieldgoal before Cincinnati connected for a 75 yard bomb 10 seconds later to take a 24-17 lead with 1:50 on the clock. Houston would respond 38 seconds later with a 20 yard TD pass which was set up by a 51 yard pass on the previous play. This tied the score at 24 with 1:07 on the clock. Cincinnati would strike again with another 75 yard TD pass just 4 seconds later plus they converted another 2 point conversion making the score 32-24 with 53 seconds remaining. Houston would fail to convert on a 4th & 10 from their own 43 and Cincinnati held on to win. QB Gary Fielding won the starting job and went 26 of 46 for 457 yards, 3 TDs and 1 INT. WR Steven Jackson led all receivers with 182 yards and 2 TD receptions. CB Jospeh Duffy led the defense with 11 tackles while they had 2 sacks, 1 interception & 1 forced fumble. They travel to KC (1-0) in week 2 for an early AXC Conference showdown.
Pittsburgh
They traveled to Saint Paul in week 1 and won a fieldgoal battle 12-6 as neither team found the endzone. Pittsburgh ran the ball 39 times for 171 yards led by Shaun Weymeyer who had 81 yards on 17 carries. QB John Turner managed the game going 22 of 37 for just 176 yards with 0 TDs & 0 INTs. CB Nathan Morrison led the defense with 4 tackles & 2 interceptions as they held Saint Paul to 200 Total yards of offense. Pittsburgh host Houston (0-1) in week 2 for a big division showdown as Pittlooks to improve to 2-0 for just the 4th time in the last 10 seasons.
Toronto
They traveled to Gem City in week 1 and after taking a 17-10 lead into halftime plus leading 20-17 late in the 3rd quarter, they collapsed in the 4th quarter as the Gangsters scored 14 unanswered points in the 4th quarter to win the game. QB Michael Keeler went 26 of 43 for 262 yards, 2 TDs & 1 INT and they rushed for 114 yards as Toronto actually outgained Gem City 334-307. WLB Daniel Simmons paced the defense with 10 tackles as the defense got 1 sack and forced 2 fumbles but they only recovered 1 of them. Toronto travels to Indiana (1-0) in week 2 where they will look to even their record.
Houston
They missed the postseason last year for the first time in 7 seasons, winning just 6 games and they drew a trip to play the defending AXC Champs in week 1. They played the game of the week as Cincinnati led 16-14 with 12:38 left in the game. Houston would grab the lead 17-16 with 2 minutes remaining on a 56 yard fieldgoal before Cincinnati connected for a 75 yard bomb 10 seconds later to take a 24-17 lead with 1:50 on the clock. QB Jospeh Eady put the offense on his back throwing for 386 yards, 3 TDs and just 1 INT as Houston couldn't get the rushing game going despite rushing the ball 29 timed for just 35 yards. WRs Tracy Lopez & John Gomez each had 100 yard receiving games (154/109) and Lopez had 1 TD reception. The defense had 2 sacks, 1 interception and CB Kyle Locklin lead the defense with 8 tackles. Houston travels to Pittsburgh (1-0) in week 2 for another division showdown as they will look to avoid an 0-2 start for the 2nd time in the past 3 seasons.
SOUTH
Orlando
They have missed the postseason the past 3 seasons as they have started slow the past 3 years but they hosted Texas in week 1 and got off to a fantastic start winning 65-10 against their division rival. Rookie WR Manuel Crippen rushed for 136 yards and 1 TD as Orlando tallied 318 yards on the ground. WR George Wilson rushed for 70 yards and 3 TDs and QB William Young went 11 of 21 for 132 yards, 3 TDs & 0 INTs. Defensively, they had 8 sacks, led by RDE Scott Farris who had 3 sacks plus they had 1 interception and MLB Dustin Aviles led the team with 8 tackles. Orlando travels to New York (1-0) in week 2 in an early AXC Conference showdown.
Dakota
They hosted KC in week 1 and they got off to a slow start eventually trailing 23-7 at halftime. They played a more competitive 2nd half but lost 33-19 as they turned the ball over 6 times, 3 on downs, 2 interceptions and 1 fumble. QB Robert Alvarez was 35 of 64 for 319 yards, 2 TDs & 2 INTs as Dakota rushed the ball just 12 times all game. Defensively, they held KC to just 108 yards passing but gave up 199 yards on the ground. Dakota travels to Oakland (1-0) in week 2 where they will look to avoid starting 0-2 for the first time since 2030, 19 seasons ago.
Daytona
They traveled to Oakland in week 1 and lost big 38-3. They rushed the ball well, getting 147 yards on 20 carries led by RB Donald Barr's 70 yards but 5 turnovers & 8 sacks led to 3 points. Defensively, CB Michael Whitmore & SS Ricahrd Rodriguez had 11 tackles each and they had 2 sacks, 1 interception & 1 forced fumble. Daytona host Texas (0-1) in week 2 as both teams look for their first win.
Texas
They traveled to Orlando in week 1 for an early division game and got blown out 65-10. They managed just 80 yards of Total offense thanks in large part to being sacked 8 times. FS Steven Woods led the team with 9 tackles but they allowed 450 yards of Total offense and recorded no sacks or turnovers. They travel to Daytona (0-1) in week 2 as both teams look to bounce back from blowout loses.
NXC
EAST
Providence
They headed to Washington for a division showdown in week 1 and shutout the Warriors 25-0. QB William Powers threw for 236 yards, 1 TD & 1 INT with WR Jeffrey Armstrong catching 12 passes for 172 yards. Defensively, they tallied 5 sacks, 4 interceptions and a forced fumble led by LDE Earnest Johnson's 3 sacks and a forced fumble plus CB Tristan Alatorre's 2 interceptions. Providence heads north to Vancouver (0-1) in week 2.
Philadelphia
They hosted division rival Brooklyn and shut them out 23-0 to start 1-0. QB Steven Stiner three for 317 yards, 2 TDs & 0 INTs with rookie WR Jeremy Smith making 7 receptions for 125 yards & 2 TD receptions. The defense had 7 sacks led by DT Michael Robinson's 3 sacks. Philadelphia goes on the road in week 2 to play perennial contender Memphis (1-0) for early NXC Conference bragging rights.
Washington
The excitement level was high entering this season for Washington after a 10 win season and postseason appearance last season. They hosted Providence and the hype train was derailed quickly as they were shutout and lost 25-0. Their offense was held to just 113 yards including just 19 yards rushing. Rookie QB Jack Harber had a rough day throwing 4 interceptions while being sacked 5 times. MLB Tim "Ripper" Owens led the defense with 9 tackles and an interception in the losing effort. Washington travels to Brooklyn (0-1) in week 2 for another division battle with the loser going to 0-2 and in last place in the division.
Brooklyn
They traveled to Philadelphia in week 1 for a division showdown and were shutout 23-0. Offensively, they tallied just 129 total yards after being sacked 7 times. SS Michael Franco led the defense with 14 tackles & 1 sack while the defense had 7 sacks of their own in a losing effort. They host Washington (0-1) for their 2nd division game with the loser falling to 0-2 in the division.
WEST
Phoenix
They traveled to Vegas in week 1 for a division showdown and won 24-6. WR Son Johnson rushed for 135 yards and 1 TD while QB Taylor Rojas threw for 297 yards, 2 TDs & 0 INTs. WR Charles Mobley paced the receiving core with 113 yards & 2 TD receptions. CB Troy Winchell led the defense with 9 tackles and 1 pick while the defense had 6 sacks led by LDE Michael Whaley's 3 sacks. Phoenix goes home in week 2 to host Saint Paul (0-1).
Seattle
They hosted New England in week 1 and held on to win 27-20 after leading 20-6 early in the 4th quarter. It's just the third time Seattle has won in week 1 in the last 10 seasons. Rookie QB Stanley McKeon threw for 207 yards with 2 TDs & 2 INTs in his debut while the team rushed for another 133 yards. MLB Garrett Lansberry led the defense with 8 tackles and the defense added 1 sack and 2 forced fumbles which was enough to hold off the Punishers. Seattle travels to Zehlendorf (0-1) in week 2 as they are looking to start 2-0 for the first time in 14 seasons (2035).
Vegas
They hosted Phoenix in week 1 for an early litmus test division game and fell short 24-6. QB James Johnson threw for 180 yards & 1 INT plus he was sacked 6 times. They managed just 18 yards on the ground as the offense failed to record a touchdown. CB Hiram Torres led the defense with 9 tackles along with CB Jesse Martin who had 3 of the teams 4 sacks. Vegas remains home in week 2 where they will host Miami (0-1).
Los Angeles
They hosted New York in week 1 and after leading 24-23 in the 4th quarter, they eventually lost as NY scored a TD with 57 seconds left on the clock. QB Tom Crawford had a good game throwing for 247 yards & 2 TDs while WR Paul Huffman led all receivers with 132 yards & 1 TD reception. Big off-season acquisition WR Peter Chappell had 75 yards rushing but his 4th quarter fumble on a muffed punt return led to the game winning TD. Rookie SS Frank Child led the defense with 8 tackles and the defense had 2 sacks & 2 interceptions. Los Angeles welcomes in Gem City (1-0) in week 2 as they will look to avoid an 0-2 start for the first time since 2043 where they finished 0-16.
NORTH
Gem City
They hosted Toronto in week 1 and after going into halftime down 17-10, they got going and won 31-20. WR Michael J. Fox led the offense with 115 yards rushing, 33 yards receiving and 1 TD. QB Robbie Heath managed the game throwing for 131 yards to 8 different receivers with 0 TDs & 0 INTs. The defense posted 5 sacks, 1 forced fumble and CB Arthur Pensky had a pick 6. Gem City travels to LA (0-1) in week 2 where they will look to start 2-0 for the 2nd straight season.
Montana
They hosted division rival Zehlendorf and won 22-7. It's just the 2nd time Montana has won their week 1 game in the last 10 seasons. QB Larry Scruggs threw for 174 yards & 1 INT while RB Hershel Erdmann rushed for 75 yards as the offense managed just 1 touchdown and K James Shoults had 5 fieldgoals including 2 of 50+ yards. WLB William Ward led the defense with 7 tackles while they had 4 sacks & 2 interceptions. Montana host Tampa Bay (1-0) in week 2 for a game between two early unbeatens.
Saint Paul
They hosted Pittsburgh in week 1 and lost a Kicker duel 12-6 as neither team reached the endzone. Saint Paul couldn't run the ball managing just 43 yards on the found and QB Stephen Gibson threw for 157 yards but 3 INTs. Rookie LDE Bo Johnson led the defense with 8 tackles and 2 of the teams 3 sacks. Saint Paul travels to Phoenix (1-0) in week 2 and are staring another 0-2 start for the 6th time in the last 10 seasons.
Zehlendorf
They traveled to Montana in week 1 for a division game and lost 22-7. QB John Bennett threw for 116 yards, 1 TD & 2 INTs as the team only rushed for 54 Total yards. MLB Edward Douglas, CB Stevie McLaughlin & CB Darnell Ramos all had 8 tackles as the defense had 2 sacks and 1 interception to keep the Zecken in the game.
SOUTH
Memphis
They hosted division rival and 7× XFL Champ Atlanta in week 1 and made an early statement winning 16-3. QB Anthony Henderson had 193 yards, 0 TDs & 1 INT as the offense had 82 yards rushing. CB Eduardo Whitley paced the defense with 8 tackles an the defense had 2 sacks and held Atlanta to just 34 yards rushing. Memphis host Philadelphia (1-0) in week 2 and will have to avoid a "let down" after the big week 1 win.
Tampa Bay
They hosted division rival Carolina in week 1 and made a statement winning 41-9. QB Douglas Brock was sharp throwing for 317 yards with 3 TDs and 0 INTs. WR Claude Crawford was the leading receiver with 80 yards and they rushed for 114 yards as a team. WLB Michael Schrader led the defense with 5 tackles as the defense had 2 sacks, 1 interception & 2 forced fumbles. Tampa Bay travels to Montana (1-0) where they will look to start 2-0 for the first time since 2039.
Atlanta
They traveled to Memphis in week 1 to renew this "must see" division rivalry and lost 16-3. They were held to 34 yards rushing as WR Leroy Bello only had 6 yards on 14 carries in his debut as RB1 without Peter Chappell. QB Alan Wyatt didn't fate much better going 15 of 34 for 152 yards with 0 TDs & 0 INTs. 5× ALLPRO CB Kevin Tefft led the defense with 9 tackles as the defense had 4 sacks, 1 forced fumble & 1 interception. Atlanta welcomes in division opponent Carolina (0-1) in week 2 as they will look to avoid rheir first 0-2 start since 2038.
Carolina
They traveled to Tampa Bay in week 1 and lost big 41-9 to their division rival. QB Remy Beaucamp threw for just 131 going 11 of 29 and had 1 INT. They rushed for 87 yards as the total offense hit 200 yards. DT Arthur Keck led the defense with 13 tackles and had both of the teams 2 sacks. Carolina must travel to Atlanta (0-1) in week 2 and are facing an 0-2 start for the first time since 2044.
