Just saying it’s not the first I’ve seen excellent rated players fail to perform for owners (including myself) that otherwise find success. I think it’s possible the failures are related to other “broken” parts of the sim as much as the possibly of a “hidden” rating that influences the rest of the probability rolls. The fact that player development is also a random “hidden” probability but is also set for that players career instead of changing with different teams/coaches after that first training camp might support your “luck” or “clutch” theory. Obviously I’m no programmer, but I do have some d20 gaming experience to draw from, and I think it’s possible that with all the applicable performance stats maxed out that it actually glitches the system and backfires…

Beaucamp played 10 games while Brewer only played 5 games so if you extrapolate the stats....it's not even close!!!
Ditto when Beauchamp started for me. I haven’t changed my offensive game plan in years. I’m running the same exact offense with Fielding right down to plays and percentages in the matrix and he won a league MVP and an LC.
Owners are definately a factor as is basic luck but Beaucamp has been a starter for 3 different teams over his long career and failed at every stop.
Don't wanna brag but I'm about to brag.
No owner has more QBs in the HOF or more league MVPs with a QB then me so I kinda know how to get the most outta a QB!
Beaucamp is a bust even though he didn't bust in his 1st TC!!!
Yes, there have been QBs who failed in 1 or 2 places who eventually resurrected their careers with the right owner later in their career but Beaucamp is consistently inconsistent and a turnover machine.
Fielding didn't do well for me or the previous owner ???
I had Fielding coming out of college too lol and he didn’t do well for me his first three seasons. I resigned him out of necessity after cutting Remy and he showed out.

Fielding is a 3× ALLPRO & 2× MVP.
He struggled early probably because his pass accuracy hadn't reached max red yet. He had 1 bad season for Vegas and it looks like he was benched after a bad start.
Career QBR well above 90 while Beaucamp is below 70
He is 5th Alltime in career passing yards & 3rd Alltime in passing TDs and he won an MVP for Phoenix (Arizona) and I pointed it out when he was traded away and AG signed another QB to a big deal with no where near the pedigree
Daytona & Montana become the 22nd & 23rd francise to make the XFL Title game and one of those teams will become the 14th different francise to hoist the XFL Title in the leagues 34 seasons.
