I feel your frustration. Imagine if you will, a league with your nemesis and his brother both in the same conference. The brother went 19-0 last season with a roster half full of players rated 65 or less by my weights. We're in a new season, and there were actually a few free agent gems available, and guess who got the top 2 defensive players? I'm in the same division as him, and after free agency 1, I was ready to quit, because why put forth any effort when at best, I'll be 3rd in my conference.

I didn't quit that league, but it's now at the top of the list for possible non renewal. I need to cut about 4 teams by the time baseball starts, as I play fantasy for money. Last year I spent too much time on this game and my fantasy teams suffered.

Yes, a lot has evolved! The first thing is you're not seeing and I believe this has nearly gone to extinction the fly pattern WR and PA Streaks hitting for long touchdowns; no more open gate 80 yard+ run with the wind portraits of beauty. lol The next thing is whether it was the v4.3 TE advantage or not the 1-2-2 set passing wise has gotten put through the watering down Beta process. See WR Streak above + Waggle and WR Deep. Huge advantages were gained here, thus they have been trifled with because...

as you noted in v4.4 it has become 80%+ pass average completion bonanza which means that they've controlled it to very short and heck even negative completion pass connections. Methodical means to move down the field and you can't truly carry that process out either to high level success because and I'm now trying to figure out how to evade this but holding penalties, false starts and sacks (ok, this can be avoided to a point) strike often and push you back so that the 3 yard completion means nil and you're punting.

Greg, I was in some recent wars with him as was my namesake (whom is also a very strong GM) and I believe that his separation from us (you included!) comes from knowing how to get the opposing offensive line to hold or to jump off-sides + he always gains interceptions and have you in a 21-0 hole before you know. Is he great? Yes! But how much knowledge gap can he have to continually trounce us over and over. I think the edge lies there. ^

I only know of 1 brother pair but I did some research and you may not have meant them/him who I mentioned so I'll clarify.

Basically, when I purposely structured an attack to defeat Bryson in League-74 and 13,000 passing yards on the season plus 110+ passing touchdowns wasn't enough I also said what is the point and bounced.

I understand the need to cut teams. I did it myself, basically dropping half my teams and most of them were playoff teams. I did it for a couple of reasons but "time" pretty much sums it up. I dont want to lose any of our owners especially Smirt or Raidergreg but everyone has to do whats right for them.

I'm currently at 19 teams and am going to cut some more but XFL is one of the very last leagues I'd cut; probably the last one. :)

I just joined this league, not leaving yet. I'm in a couple of leagues that have been on the brink of extinction, and a couple of other leagues are at the top of the list to be dropped for various reasons.
