At the end of the day, I would love to do the kind of roster management and in-depth gameplanning that the elite owners do, but I just don't have that kind of time between family and work. I feel I can get about an 45 minutes to an hour a day to game plan, etc. for three leagues I'm currently in. Sometimes I just don't have the time to go in-depth with rules against specific opponents, so I stick with my base offense and defense.
Dude,
I am right there with you, an hour a day over 2 years plus maybe a couple more hours on the weekend.
4.5 has been out 2 years (real time) and I know I haven't fully mastered it especially on defense.
It's a slow process figuring it all out but like I said, anyone can do what I do. I'm not special in any way. I have no idea how to code or what it even looks like...I've play sport Sims and RPGs my whole life (I'm 53). I work and have 11 kids and 15 grandkids so any time I get on MFN is an escape for real!
I look at stats, rosters and player attributes and make assumptions then change my player weights and see what happens...trial and error over and over.
Same goes for gameplanning, trial and error...see what works and what doesn't but it all goes hand in hand...make a change to my oline player weights and resort depth then maybe a play that didn't work in the.past is given another shot.
You have to be patient and not make radical changes every game...New ideas need space to see if they work but wait too long and you lose 3 straight. Preseason is the perfect time to use new plays
