It's fine Moon,

I hope you enjoy 4.6, I really do!

I just dropped 5 leagues because I don't look forward to even less passing and even lowered scores.

In the end, this is a game which is suppose to simulate NFL football.

Putting a governor on the passing offense so the newest newb can compete versus someone who invested 100s if not 1000s of hours doesn't interest me.

If I wanted that, I would play roster only.

This is a game and if it's not fun then what's the point???

The only reason I'm not quitting entirely is because I created 2 leagues long ago in season 20 and I don't want to walk away from them.

Thanks

CJ

I believe we're looking at the three lieutenants (Ray, Admiral and Ioan) being given free reign and that no strategy or deep level thinking will be able to stave them off. Inner working knowledge from the Man himself will trump anything in-game competition wise.

This could be the death of MFN as we know it. I’m hoping for the best.

I don't really know all the details as far as Ray and Admiral etc. and their influence, just what I've read....but I know the simple fact that NFL fans and fans of football game almost overwhelmingly prefer higher scoring and pass heavy games. Seems like general knowledge to me.

I would never want to see this turn into an Arena league style passing/scoring type of game....but this really seems backward and I could see a mass exodus as a result and I don't think it's an exaggeration when Blondie says it could be the end of MFN.

Really too bad.

The best version = v4.2.

All JDB had to do was quell/set up the bump and run to turn away a % of the turnstile TDs manifested from the PA and WR Streaks.

A product that isn't Arena style but more so the high octane offense you mentioned.

The best version is to open up long passing again and improve blitzing and coveage to counter.

Let the tiny dots battle it out on the field for once.

Dude, it probably is the end of MFN, I dropped 5 leagues tonight because why play another season under a lame duck code.

I'm hoping at least the XFL will survive but I can picture the admiral and Ray taking 8 teams in a league to keep it open but then Ray never sticks around for more then a season.

Next season GG thread example

Gg game man, couldn't stop your prolific passing attack...i dont how you keep eclipsing 200 yards passing and 15 TD passes in 12 games....wow

You must of figured out an exploit in 4.6...I mean over a TD pass.per game...unheard of!!!!

When JDB made the post I audibly said to myself that MFN is dead and that I'd stay out of those Beta forums I'm in. I held out for awhile and I'm ghosting right now because I saw Admiral replied to my frustration post.

Very poor decision to go to v4.6.

We can only hope it’s so bad it won’t last long. At the very least we’ll all be struggling through it on the same terms.

Gonna stick my nose in this for a second. Here's how I see some of this.

You have a product that's pretty good, not perfect. Some people exploit the **** out of it. Other people are witness to this exploitation and develop a sour attitude towards the exploiters, and the product. This continues for ahwile and the only person who can do anything about it is MIA. The people who are watching these exploits happen get increasingly frustrated with it. Eventually the MIA guy resurfaces and presents an alternative, some people like it, some people don't. It's proven to be statistically worse than the original product. The people who are frustrated have 2 choices. Either leave the product entirely,.. or fully embrace the new product.

I've never played 4.6 at all. For those who support 4.5, and I am in this boat myself in 1 or 2 leagues, did you run over everyone with the same pass plays? by punt blocking over and over? by using WR's as FB's on dive plays for 2 yards every single time? etc etc? Did you contribute to the frustration that led people to embrace a worse version of the game simply because it alleviates this frustration?

I'm not pointing fingers, I have played this way myself in the short time I've been in some of my leagues but I also fully embrace a rules system that admins can use to prevent the above scenarios. I'm simply saying, if you want people on your team, it's not a good idea to spit in their face.. in a manner of speaking.
