Conference Final/Finals Level = you will go up against anything and everything.
I'll name off 2 and there's many others, as well.
If you get GDB or Infinity in a Title Game they will do anything and everything to beat you. The former will hit the board immediately to tell you all about how he got you. Me? Ima do anything I can to avoid that.
When GMs cowardly work PM to have Big Ups! boot you from a league without you're having broken a rule or Gustoon tosses you out of a league before you even played a game and again due to GMs cowardly working PM - it tends to **** me off and not care.
Any game engine is going to have exploits and nerf plays. There are ways to counter FL Hitch, to name one, in 4.5. I just don’t see the long-term benefit in overhauling to fix a few exploits.
I think a lot of the frustration with 4.5 comes down to some owners just not putting in the time to game plan on defense. I see so many owners who I play against just picking the same old plays on defense (OLB Flat Zone for 2RB/1TE/2WR and Nickel 2 Deep Man for 3 wide sets) and then they get mad when those don't work because I scheme against that.

This is going to be true in any management simulator. I'm offering a prize of 25$ to the winner in my league but it actually requires you to "manage" your roster/playcalling etc. It's a struggle to keep it filled. People don't want hard they want what I call "set and forget". They also want to win with a set and forget playstyle. It will happen to 4.6 eventually but right now, there are a loud group of people who are so fed up with how people play the 4.5 code they just don't care if 4.6 is actually worse. We can talk all day about how the other side is wrong for this reason and that, but a lot of the blame for why they jumped ship to 4.6 falls on those who weren't simply winning by being better at football, but by taking advantage of a lacking code and MIA developer, and being utterly remorseless about it.
The loud group of people = Ray who epitomizes that quote about the Joker about 'wanting to watch the world burn.' He's into chaos, not the game and having fun.
And the Admiral who is a debating contrarian pushing his own agenda. No one else wants v4.6.

Some of it could be the developer is seeing a lot of people leave the game, it could be he does read some of the postings and see's the frustration about how the 4.5 code is being played, it could be he see's 4 or 5 pages of leagues dwindle down to 3. It could be a last minute hailmary to try and and save something thats failing. It could be a lot of things. What I highlky doubt, being a rational person, is that 2 people are responsible for a game developer changing his entire platform for their personal gain.
There has to be more to that story from the developes point of view as before, 4.6 was an option you could toggle and it didn't require the Dev to roll back anything. He made a change that converts every league to 4.6. you can request him to roll back your season to 4.5 but that takes work on his part, I'm sure he's hoping that won't actually be a thing for to long. From his perspective, more people playing means more opportunity for them to buy credits.. if they enjoy the game they are more likely to buy credits. So again, why would he make this change if he thinks it's going to produce less credits in the future? He may be wrong, everyone may quit.. but if they were already quitting anyway... this is what he had to do....
It all comes back to "why were they quitting in the first place"?
v4.5 genesis came from when all the great minds were asked to join the Elite League. We did and at the dispersal draft JDB sat quietly in the league chat for days and days peering into our game plan set ups.
Then v4.5 came out with no over the top passing and the short lived versions before it and we weren't supposed to have figured out FL Hitch or how to hit the RB out of the backfield over and over.
My behavior in v4.5 is from being mad at and attacking the genesis of the code.
